How do you style blue?

14 posts in this topic

Okay this is really off topic.

Most clothes in blue strike me either as boring (plain blue has nothing to it even though the color is nice), conformist (your typical suit or professional wear is blue) or childish. (babyblue)

I like blue as a color but its hard to integrate if you want your outfit too like a little more vintage or artistic.

I collected a few examples where people made it work, feel free to add to this list.

I just realized the secret behind styling blue. Blue by default has all these attributes: conformist, boring, a bit childish. So you have to wear blue clothes which have interesting shapes and material. Like cord, leather, baggy and maybe with some extra detail. The first one is a good example, without the baggy shape and detail it would look as boring and conformist as it gets but with the detail everything changes.

Vintage artistic and cool

I don't know what your smoking but no one looks at a denim outfit and says thats cool artistic or vintage.

If you wear this sonic shirt you will get sex with woman 100 percent.

Don’t have to think. My eyes are blue. Anything blue looks good on me.

I have white'ish skin, light hair color and green eyes. So It's hard for me to make contrast with colors like baby blue etc...

This is not imposible, but I don't see myself buying extra stuff for getting that light blue to work. Darker colors just works easier on me, for example, I don't even have something orange, it just works better and easy on dark skin.

So I just stay away from light blue tones. There is no point for me, this is a personal thing, but I can wear something navy blue all day long.

Here I tried to add navy blue belt for more contrast between lighter shades. There is a fine color transition so I think it can stand alone as it is, and I feel comfortable if I look a bit off, which is the most importing thing I suppose.IMG-20250730-WA0001.jpg

Or on extremely pale skin. I have seen it work which was so cool, a whole black outfit with a bright orange coat. That was so cool.

Aura Sing from Star Wars, she can also wear orange as an example.

Yeah everybody has his own color palatte which I actually find really cool because that way its unique and everybody looks a little different.

I like your style. It looks chill, well put together, you look like you smell good but it also doesnt look overly conformist. Not sure about the belt, I dont think its a perfect match but I also wouldnt say its a mismatch. Certain blues and greens can work very well together.

This looks really cool, a hoodie but with a collar, so you dont look like a dumbass.

Found this AI generated picture in blue. Kind of destroys the vibe even though the color is beautiful.
