For sure. Libido = sex energy = energy.

A true ascetic, is not someone without sex energy. But his sex energy has been sublimated, it has been transformed.

The theory is that you don't want to waste your energy by having a regular orgarsm, you want to form a circle inside of you. You want the energy to move inwards, to pervade the whole body -- not to waste it.

I don't say I've transcended it, but I'm gaining understanding more and more about the experience. It starts to lose its allure for sure.

I had once an interesting experience.
 

I used to have some sexual fantasies I deemed as taboo.

And I wanted to not have them anymore. So what I would do is that I would abstain from masturbating to those fantasies, because I believed that with enough time, neuroplasticity would make it so my brain would rewire and I wouldn’t have those tabo fantasies anymore

Then one day I just flipped it on its head. I had a little bit of urge left and I just allowed myself to go “fully into it” and indulge in that fantasy as much as I want. When I did that, it lost its allure and I stopped having them. Weird. But it kinda connects to your point about how understanding (through direct experience)  helps you transcend it.

I used to experiment with this in my past. I had came to a point where i would allow myself to masturbate if I wanted, but I naturally didn’t want to, I wanted to keep and feel that sexual energy inside me. It’s like I naturally intuited this sexual transmutation thing. It’s all in my past though.

What you resist, persists.

To transcend a thing, you really need to understand it. That moment when you just get it.

What tantra teach is not to be restritictive about sex or any desire. One should go full board on sex, to be like an animal. But, with attention. By and by if you become attentive to your desires and urges you will grow out of it and naturally be more detached.

Direct attentive experience leads to a certain kind of understanding. I can see the value in indulging in something for a period in order to transcend it

Yes but it cant be mindless indulgence, because then you would not understand the experience, and will just keep looping forever, like everyone is doing lol. It cant be indulgence nor restraining from it, you need to observe and understand.

Easier said than done though. The mind is very very tricky and subtle.
