How to solve an inferiority/superiority complex? (no gimmicks please)

Love the honesty from everyone on this. I felt this feeling in a big way before as well and thoughts and feelings can still arise. Internally I had to be perfect because of how my mother treated me (telling me i wasn’t good enough constantly or that she wished i was more like xyz kid), this led to feeling inadequate when in the presence of others success despite being quite successful myself (comparatively to the people around me - which i later found out i surrounded myself with to feel less inadequate).

The good news (or bad news) is that you’ll always have a chance to work on this until it’s resolved internally because they’ll always be people better than you at something (as is the case for all humans). 😅

Hope you have a productive time with the therapist tomorrow 🙏

Thank you for your response, this response I somewhat relate with. My session was very eye-opening, and wound opening.

Basically my therapist wanted me to get into the root cause for my feeling of powerlessness. We uncovered my relationship with my mother. It was very abusive at times and I was somewhat in denial about it.

Very intense session. I will update this thread with the aftermath, after my problems are resolved, or il start a new thread. Seems to me that we have to go very deep to solve problems like this.

Root fixes take time and pain I guess. Fuck man.

Yeah it makes sense for it to be based in powerlessness.

I like this meditation here that focuses on love and kindness towards yourself and others. I found it healing for me

Just remember that you are going to die one day. Then there would be no superiority or inferiority complex.
