Bird vision article mistake?

I've read the article about bird vision that Leo has shared and I think it's wrong about birds not being able to see reflections in the mirror. I am pretty sure that at the very least parrots can see reflections in the mirror, which is why they might sometime attack it or try to socialize with the reflection.

Other sources on the internet seem to agree with me.

I believe it is poor wording in the article. Birds can definitely see it, but not as their own reflection. Instead they see either an intruder or a potential friend (as you imply). Magpies seem to possess this ability, however.

Probably some birds can recognize themselves while others can't.

There are a few birds that are super smart while the rest seem dumb. Just like humans
