Barbecue is very common in Croatian restaurants in tourist areas . But I don’t know if it’s authentic Croatian food, or if it’s just food that’s popular. I like it though, although I’d like to try more authentic dishes too

I'd like to try it one day. 🤔

It must basically resemble Turkish or Greek cuisine, I imagine.

Yea I think so. Alongside the beaches are many restaurants and they have similar menu with a lot of barbecue. I like it.

I love Middle Eastern and Balkan cuisine (well, I've only tried Romanian, but apparently it's still pretty close).
I should go there one day. Apparently, it's also very pretty.
I know someone who's been to Zagreb several times, and he told me the only problem was the regular earthquakes.

Lmao I’ve been to Croatia 20 times and never experienced earthquake. But I’ve only been to Zagreb twice so maybe he meant that city in particular I don’t know.

It’s pretty yea like other countries around that sea. I like those cuisines as well.

This Thursday I’ll go to this family gathering and they’ll serve Lebanese cuisine (catering). They chose that.  I’m excited for that. And baklava as desssert 😻 It would be fun to have you there for you to try too.

Ok maybe I’m derailing the thread, it’s okay becuase it’s my own thread or? 😬

I asked God google and it says there are over 200 earthquakes a year in Croatia, although most are mild.

Ahah thx, with pleasure.

I still imagine the random French guy from a forum popping in to flirt with the daughter with a lousy accent and grabbing some food along the way.

Hop you're father is as cool.😅

Yea dw there's no problem.

The mods never bothered me with my own threads.

Actually not a priori, idk.

Maybe the thing I heard about Zagreb was exaggerated.

It’s the nepalis, we are racist against the Nepalis 😃

a lot of them are still very young so I have lots of empathy for them coming all way here.

One month you’ll catch me talking the maddest shit about Zagreb and the other I’ll be praising it like it’s the best city in the world.

Right now I’ll just call it shit, not enough people for me, too small.

Indeed I just saw on Google that there are "only" 770,000 inhabitants, it's less than Toulouse.

I didn't know there were so many Nepalese in Croatia; It seemed a bit strange to me.

It’s barren in comparison, In New York I could look down any street and literally see endless vibrancy and colors full of people. This is the biggest issue for me, I hate lifeless places.

Dalmatia & Istra, touristy parts of Croatia where most people vacation are even worse because their wide spread population is not significantly larger than the Zagreb Metropolitan area.

The Nepalese, filipinos and Indians are brought here by work agencies that operate in both countries, we approve like 200k visas per year, enough to replace our entire population in 20 years, although a significant portion of those people just go work in Germany illegally on Croatian visas.

By we I mean the Croatian government, I don’t like to associate myself with this country at all lol

Second grand schism between us eheh.

I’m more of a small or medium-sized city person; If I were to live in a city, I would be in my apartment most of the time.

When I was little I loved the abundance of people, I even said that "the forests should be cut down to make houses and factories" lol; But for some reason it's gone and now I prefer nature. And yet I still have a large ego that prevents me from fully enjoying the little things in life; I'm working on it.

I thought the Croatian government was very right-wing. Croatia should protect its people.
