List The Various Methods Of Spirtual Purification

6 posts in this topic

I wanted to make a quick list

Here's my list:

  • Mediation.
  • The questioning and doubting of your fears. Taking action on proving them wrong.
  • Visulisation of your aura, which makes you invinsible to the outside.
  • Contemplation.
  • Taking days out doing absolutely nothing to face yourself.
  • @Martin123 emotional healing page.
  • The use of psychedelics in the correct fashion.
  • Making your every day descions consciously. And realise every small thing you do counts and adds up.
  • Shinzen young recommended that it is important to take time to do intense practice. So maybe spending a couple years at a monastery?...
  • Shadow work (various techniques).
  • Wim Hoff breathing seems so fucking powerful to me.
  • Ice baths...?
  • Changing your diet to veg, fruit and nuts.

If you guys have got any powerful techniques can you list them here. I am finding it difficult to find powerful techniques other then these.

@Huz Your list is quite interesting and I'd like to know what do you mean by spiritual purification. What is the goal of it ?

It is a set of certain techniques. I think they all try to achieve the same thing within the person practicing it. That is, to give one the ability to experience life with complete deattachment from it. That doesn't mean to say abstain and run away from life... Something I have been gulilty of. But to live life without any emotional triggers. When you are attached to things, you notice within a deep and sharp emotional and mental reaction. Deattachment is the abseance of these triggers, and spirtual purification is a path to get there. They are techniques which purge your neurosis.

@Huz Well in that case here are some techniques that can be easily brought into everyday life:

1. Whenever you are emotionally triggered, you should take a moment to stop and realize that the emotion is coming from within you - you are the source of that not someone/something that is external. Maybe the someone/something was a trigger but basically the emotion is coming from within you. Observe that emotion arising within yourself. It'll be hard in the beginning to do this as when you are emotionally triggered you'll most probably not be able to think all this. But if you can then that's a step towards spiritual purification. So use those triggers as a boon instead of worrying about them.

2. When you are hungry and there is food in your plate before you, before starting to eat, realize that you are not your body then the hunger will be there but it'll be okay. This practice will slowly disidentify you from your body.

3. Mindfullness in everyday activities.

4. Contemplation of death. This doesn't always need to be done like a 20 min meditation session. You can just remind yourself that you are mortal whenever you feel so. You can also set up a routine that whenever you brush in the morning, you'll remind yourself this. While brushing think what'll you'll do if this is your last day. Etc. If you keep doing this you'll becoming a more loving and happy person (who wants to be shitty to other people even on their last day with them).

5. When you eat or drink, just look at that food/water with positive emotions (love, gratitude, whatever) and then consume it. If you can be make yourselves feel positive emotions just by seeing a glass of water, isn't it great ? And if you do this and then if you eat or drink that food/water you'll be easily mindfull of the food/water when you are eating or drinking it.
