@Natasha thank you, I will look him up. It annoys me how we’re programmed to think we need more money to live a good life.

@Cjaryo I understand what you’re saying, but it’s like everyone around me that isn’t doing personal development is having a great time with life, and the more I try to better myself the more I overthink everything and feel like im better than everyone else. I really don’t like that feeling.

Obviously don’t get an Instagram account. It’s going to melt your brain, waste your precious time and make you feel as if you’re missing out. Its almost like you already know the answer to this. Maybe the question you should ask yourself is - do I need validation from other people (likes) in order to gain my own satisfaction?

What helped me was to value my life more. Realising how we should care for ourselves. Realising how short our time is on this earth. Realising how lucky we should be to be alive in this era. Deep down, we should be so grateful. Life is amazing, we shouldn’t have permission to complain/be depressed. Hopefully this helps anyone who sees this and feels ‘depressed’

What’s yours?

Hi all, I’ve been struggling with this one for quite some time now, and I’m asking this as I literally don’t have a clue what to do. So if anyone’s been through this then I hope you can help... I’ve got some ‘friends’ that are just distracting me from my personal growth and all they want to do is go drinking/doing drugs. They usually message me asking if I want to go out and I find it incredibly difficult to say no, because they know that I don’t have much else to do. It’s ruining my mental and physical health and I know that this way of life isn’t sustainable, and if I ask them if they want to do something that doesn’t involve alcohol/drugs then I just get turned down/laughed at. Anyone else been in this situation? How can I get out of these relationships? I know there are others out there like me, but where do I start? I’m from the UK too, and binge drinking is in our ‘culture’. Maybe that’s why it’s so hard to escape the alcohol and bad influences? Any help would be much appreciated.

-how can we effectively get rid of distractions?

@Leo Gura 1. Will you ever get married? 2. Do you own a smartphone?

I love the part in that book about being single in your 20s. This is hugely powerful, because I think nobody really knows what they truly want in a relationship until they’ve had some real life experience in them. Say in your 30s... Great book, great read.

@AleksM I guess you’re right. In the past I’ve had a tough time saying No, because I suppose I like seeing people, i just need to meet and hangout with people that will help me to grow/influence me in better ways. Also, I know I need to come face to face with being lonely, I can grasp the idea of how we are all alone truthfully, but it’s facing that head on and dealing with it in better ways. thanks to you all for the advice!

@ADD are you joking? Nearly all of Leo’s videos are better than that book... -

@Afonso why isn’t Leo a Buddhist monk yet? Always wondered this -

@Monkey-man next time you eat it be aware on how it can drain your energy, whereas raw food gives you instant energy. nothing wrong with cooked food, unless your eating the standard American diet all day... -

I’ve heard that the fall of mankind is when we started to cook our food. If you think about it more it kinda makes sense. And as soon as we start eating the right diet (raw food) we awaken from the madness we’ve been living day in and day out (work, school, materialism) maybe I’m wrong but who’s to say otherwise? -
@Seeker_of_truth if you can work a job and have time to do yoga and meditate then that’s all you need for now. That’s all I’m doing, I’m earning good money in a good job and in my free time doing consciousness work. Don’t try to over complicate things.

I think to smoke weed is just a hype because people think it’s a cool thing to do. Why not try to do all this self actualized work sober? Depending on a drug to help you get there isn’t authentic and like what’s been said before, with every high comes a low. And weed isn’t an acception... -
I’ve been there too, and I still have these problems you talk about. I have created problems out of thin air, overthink them and then end up depressed and anxious. When really there’s so much worse out there, that’s the beauty of gratitude! Being thankful and staying on the path of truth and meditating every day really helps me, plus getting my diet sorted out. It seems like this is just the ego trying to distract us from the bigger picture? I might be wrong...

What are you eating? Is it healthy? Look up about the effects of raw whole food and cooked food, cooked food generally takes your energy, while raw whole foods give you energy.

Vitamin B12 is all I take on a vegan diet. You could take some Vitamin D too if your not getting much sunshine. Be careful taking too many supplements as most of them can be found in food, which gets absorbed to the blood much easier. Also, any bread product is really bad for blood sugar levels and insulin. You can end up with diabetes if you eat too much bread (people think it comes from eating too much sugar) At the end of the day just watch ‘What the health’ on Netflix and hopefully you should be all clear on diet, it helped me massively.

Maybe try some Yoga too. Since I started doing it about a year ago my energy levels and general well being have gone through the roof! It’s pretty easy too, all you need is a Yoga mat and your away.

Cold showers are incredible! And eating the right food too, vegetarian/vegan

Maybe just turn it off? Or put it in a different room when your at home? Works for me fine, and I can now notice how much of a burdain it can be, and how addicting it can be. Very useful tool but it can be easily overused, wasting hours just looking at it can’t be good for the brain...

@molosku I’m currently doing the ‘do nothing’ technique and I always come out of it feeling relaxed and calm afterwards, give it a try and see for yourself. Letting go of trying to control thoughts is what makes this incredible i guess -

Thank you to everyone, really helpful feedback! It’s good to know this is all normal.
