Yeah, so ? They are both very unhealthy, but Lil Peep has at least a lil bit of Soul. Lil Pump is pure trash. Change my mind And I don't mean they are bad as a person, I mean it in terms of what there product does to the listener
-
@cypres I'm sure what rap music is even talked here, so we should define it with examples
-
@cypres What about examples of low-conscious rap with explanation ? What would make an interesting discussion. That is one of the most trash rappers in can think of : Lil Peep. All about money and social media bullshit. Very materialistic and unhealthy

I'm a great fan of Hip Hop. This is not Black or White. There is a lot of good rap out there, even about enlightenment : To say Rap is dangerous is ignorant, there is a lot of diverse stuff. BUT there are legions of very toxic rappers nowadays who earn a lot of money. They rap about drugs and die typically from drug abuse like Lil Peep or go into prison like Takeshi 69. These are a problem, yes. I don't listen to these type of music, although I hear some gangsta rap i claim that what I hear it has soul and a strive to actualize. For example Lil Bibby, who raps about exactly that violence, is NOT a person who glorifies it. I believe he is now out of the rap game to make it as a business person. Nipsey Hustle was into Green and tried to help his community for a decade before he was shot in front of one of his businesses by a ignorant youth or so. There is a TV Show on Netflix there rappers buy random shit for lots of money to show off. This show is almost a who is who in terms of trash rap. Compare that to the Wu Tang Clan. These dudes are around since 1992 and look still healthy. Even Snoop Dogg developed into a green Person: @SoothedByRain lol, he was right.
-
Well go for it, I'm sure you can earn a living trough that. But it'll take some years to manifest
-
@Raptorsin7 lol... I know a person who wrote his bachelor thesis about lol . So you wanna get so good that everyone ask like : How ? And then you present the blog ? That's actually a damn fine strategy
-
I guess most gamer will be drawn in with performance tricks like better nutrition, whole food or meditation. That is the perfect frame from my perspective..
-
@Raptorsin7 Why not, in the gaming community is much to gain. Will this include topics like nutrition?
-
@Raptorsin7 This is a good advice, the question is how you get you blog going. I have a blog as well, but it was under construction for 3 years. I don't mean the structure of the web page, you can get a wordpress blog in an afternoon. The content was the problem. I had to develop myself and get clarity about the topic. You seem to know what you want, so go for it ; )

supremeyingyang replied to How to be wise's topic in Society, Politics, Government, Environment, Current Events
Now this is a fruitful discussion that goes right to the mark. Exactly what I thought in terms of her stage, but who know qw don't know her personal... @Ero your Advice is still sound. Word! But I would dare to add that you can categorize people dynamically into stage, you guess the stage. You can frame higher topics so that they appreciate it and you avoid some misunderstandings. But you stay alert, maybe they are more developed in a different domain. For example you have a seemingly money hungry stage orange type, but then you find that he is like that to accomplish a sophisticated goal which helps a lot of people. See, it's not so easy as judgement but still possible. I have ask the cypher this : Becomes Spiral Dynamics obsolete to a stage turquoise person ? -
@fridjonk right !:D:D

Well everyone has to go through the valley of shadow and death. In my case I lived with a hardcore christian and a stalinist in a shared flat (we're still friends, but everyone were in personal hardships). We we're extremely nocturnal (uptime : 3pm to 5am). The Stalinist tried to talk us in all sort of political questionable shit. We had a plenum and we bought all our food together, which was quite a hustle because the stalinist was into fried food. I gained 10kg in no time. The hardcore Christian claimed we would been like these Nightshift guys. So we watched it - it was an instant classic. How was the signature move of the communist ? "I have 2 bachelors and 1 master !!"
-
@fridjonk Do you know Næturvaktin ? I loved that show.
-
Ok, here is one crappy joke for Iceland . I can't resist . How do you win an election in Iceland ? You ask your friends to vote for you - all 3 .
-
@fridjonk Maybe no one cares because there are not enough people on that island ? After all you are fun sized compared to other countries in terms of population. I mean how many people do you have ? 200.000? (ok i googled it, it's 400.000). The Metropolitan Area i live in has a little more people than whole iceland. And how many come in the country? All I want to say it is interesting but not comparable to the U.S. ALTHOUGH many people start to dismiss college education to be an autodidact Whatever, don't be fearful @Chumbimba . Listen to the Kayne West Album "College Drop out". Be bold ps : but i recommend that you do your online university

I would bet you to think about it. You can go into the game industry, but be aware of that struggle. Maybe it's just for you. I hope is this was not too much . Do you want to know something ?
-
https://www.gameindustrycareerguide.com/video-game-industry-work-life-balance/ do you like telltale games like The Walking dead? https://comicbook.com/gaming/2018/09/22/former-telltale-employees-what-it-was-like-working/
-
DON'T. GO. INTO. COMPUTER. GAME. INDUSTRY. https://time.com/5603329/e3-video-game-creators-union/ The conditions are fucking bad and the stress is high. What is worse? Everyone wants to make games, thus there is more supply of worker than demand. You like games, so you think this is cool. It's not. @Leo Gura please tell him about the problem one faces in game industry (if you have the time of course)

The plan is good. If you can meet regularly in flesh with fellow programmers, for example in a hackerspace . The culture is important too. And build simple stuff immediately, try to get to more complex problems on each iteration. Next thing is your first language. Do you know a programming language? Many People say Python is easy to learn and well documented. However, I've started with Javascript (bad choice for a first language), learned R for university statistics and now I'm somewhat professional useful in ABAP. I strongly recommend you read this Essay from Eric Raymond now. It's called 'How to become a Hacker', however, this means not criminal. If you don't know the term other than as a synonym for Cyber Criminal, you can translate it as Hacker = Programmer + Wisdom + Ethics + Style. If that resonates with you, you should read Dave Thomas and Andy Hunts Books. Pragmatic Programming , Pragmatic Learning If nothing else please read this 160 page book full of tricks of how to learn better and faster : The little book of Talent This guy Aaron Clarey is somewhat useful on the grand picture, but he is stuck in blue/orange. Be careful with these youtube teachers anyway... the indian tutorial guys are ok, though YOU CAN DO IT!

@Chumbimba Okay, next decision is college or not. There are some Programmers without college Education, however it won't be easy to get the foot in the door. If you won't go to college learn the basics for 2 months and then find a job with opportunity to grow.
-
@Chumbimba I can help you set your feet on the way. Do you know what kind of programming do want to do ?
-
Note : what I described sounds hard, but it is actually the easy way. I'm in stage 4 - saving money. I have still 3 years to go
-
@Chumbimba A lot is possible, not everything but much much more than you can possible expect. Let's check facts: You have dept from College You live with your Ex Girlfriends family You work in a call center You had a lost degree in spain You study psychology but you want to change to CS You don't know what is right That sucks for you. BUT you are only 22. Be focused and it won't even a big hustle to be financial free at 30 to 32. Earlier if you figure out how to make money without a 3 year college. Ok here is the How to Research what job is in demand, thus relatively secure and high paying) AND from that what of these job you could possible do in 5 years. Don't be shy, you can do a whole lot in 5 years if you study focused. Do what necessary is to get a job, for example go to college to get a Bachelor in Computer Sciences. Then apply. Work yourself up the ladder until you are dept free. This should be easily the case after 3 years of work with a yearly income of 50.000. If not, you will take longer. Save money, think about retirement. Save enough to survive 2 years!! (rent, food and ALL other expenses) without a job. Go on to save. You are free with 32. However, if you buy a new car or a house on dept you will be in trouble. If you start to have kids before you are financially secure you will have major troubles. Same with marriage. Read Aaron Clarey - Worthless . He is a very grumpy blue / orange guy, but if he has one skill then it is to get you on your way. However, follow the advice and not his occasional drivel about how bad socialism is. That is distraction to you. Good luck

@LfcCharlie4 Yeah maybe, but OP is out of psychology. I would say that psychology can be very practical in every interaction as you learn about us humans. But to get a job can be a hustle, true. However, you would be amazed what would happen if a psychology major would learn practical statistics and apply for such jobs. There is a permanent shortage of statisticians. Which brings us back to my formula : The more math, the more money. The more you learn in the job, the more value you have as a person in a orange economy. The more obligatory a job, the more pay (if the other factors are true). For example what would you do with a broken leg - Buy some art or go to the doctor ? Do you see ? Rent or a Play Station ? A Smartphone or Food ? Of course many go into Psychology to flee math. But if you learn on mathematical framework like basic Statistics plus 2 advanced like multivariate analysis and time series you tripled your employment chances in a decent job. However, we in Germany have far higher standards for what a good job is. Paid overtime, paid vacation, paid if you are ill, health insurance and a 40 hour work week for a full worker is what is given. A Psychologist can easily work all over Germany with a Bachelors as we have a shortage - as long he or she is willing to use math or programming on top of their education.

@randomguy123 Well, this hustler mentality is not for everyone. And lots of people stay where they are. Legions of lowpaid Youtubers or Start-Up Founders. I mean hustle if you want to, but be smart. Make yourself a nice groundwork of skill and you are good. But yeah, find opportunity where you can.
