Yes yes, actualized.org club has on this day decided that desire is good and desireable. Onto the next issue!

3 minutes ago, Monkey-man said:@molosku yes you are right dude, my point is just another perspective. Many people emotionally desire enlightenment, that doesn't work I think.
Yes, very much so, because you are missing the thing you are desireing, as you actually desire an idea of it, and not the thing itself. Its like wanting shoes but desiring an image of shoes.

Using a blindfold will not work.
You need absolutely zero light. Which is not easy to achieve. You will not achieve that at home without serious preparations.
Meditate in your closet. Then tell your family you have come out of the closet and attained enlightenment. Badum tshh!

Ha, thanks man, but I can't honestly say these are my completely original ideas.
Poor quality, but worth the watch (or listen). Thanks to my lovely companion @shamaanitar for sharing.

No desires is about removing desires, not about desiring to have no desires.
The thought "having no thoughts is better than having thoughts and also its necessary for trancending thoughts" is a thought.
A thought about an subtle entity called thought as a controller of a "you" (which is a thought) is a thought.
A desire to remove desires is a negatory desire, it's a form of resistance (instead of desires, I WANT to have no desires because desires are a problem). And this too is a thought.
Who is present when you want some McDonalds, donuts and orgies ? Who is also present when you are in a state of utter nuclear enlightenment?
Hmm...

Who has a problem with the mind? Only mind has a problem with the mind
Then theres the classic paradox of desireing to be desireless. Hmm... Who is it who desires to have no mind. Hmm.

There lies some sneaky sneaky traps and subtlety here, language is a bitch.
By asking "who am I" or any variation of that (who is aware) etc. you create the I that you know does not exist. The question IS the device that creates the illusion. Asking the question gives reality to the meta assumption of the I and me. Asking the question creates the tail that you then chase. Its like "yes, I admit there is an I that I can investigate, so now I investigate the I" but what is the I that the question asks about? A mere thought. It's not even a consept yet, its a mental sound until you start to define the I, then it becomes a consept too.
Early on your self inquiry practise the question seems to help, and it does, and its helpfull to return to questions no matter how developed you are. Its like crawling from the shit ocean to the shit island, in a way But you want to trancend this dream. Its a shit dream anyway.
There arises a need to redefine the word I or me, if one insists using it. This is why deepest self-inquiry is non-verbal, because there needs to be (or so I believe) a crossing of a border or the gateless gate if you will, into the non verbal where you stop creating the I and fall into being, or existance or what ever you want to call it. The I becomes a legitimate word again, it points now to something beyond the regular definition of me or I in regular language.

Have you read Tolles "Power of Now" ? As you probably know, your trauma or bad memory doesn't really exist NOW, as its only a thing in your mind which your imperfect minds fetches onto you consciousness to be dwelled upon.
But the now is all there is, so how come you suffer from something that is simply not there? Something to think about.
Also try to put things into context: did you end/destroy someones whole life? If you didnt, it cant be THAT bad. So much horrible stuff happens all the time.
If hurts because you feel its personal. You feel it happened to you, but really it happened to someone, that in this case happened to be you. Try not to identify yourself as a person who does no do the x thing you did. That creates a disconnect in you self image, as you really feel you are a better person than that, but the facts speak otherwise. This insight helped me to get over something I did recently that was NOT something I would ever imagine myself doing.
Whats done is done, simple as that. Try to accept it, and yourself. Leo has a great self acceptance video, maybe start from there

Missing days doesn't hurt you. It's easy to fall into a compulsive need to meditate every day no matter what. Listen to your body and mind also, but do intend to meditate on most days of the year
If meditating every day is something you want to do, do it as soon as you can after waking up, as shin said.

The easy part is to get the whole globe to known about no self.
The hard part is to move it out from the realm of ideas/beliefs to experience.
Thank god for mushrooms.
Thank mushrooms for god.

So are you kneeling and sitting (and that is putting pressure on your knees) or do they ache from a lotus-like posture?
In any case, the point is to meditate, not to sit in a particular posture. However, you should always be in a posture that feels natural, allows for a natural spine position (not overly slouched or arched), and where you feel alert and present. Do some experimenting! Reinforce your position with pillows and stuff like that, and then gradually start to use less of them (if you wish) as you get more accustomed to meditating.

If I have sex with a woman, a baby might get born as a result. If I get swifty with a man, no babies will come from that.
If this does not prove that distinct genders are a thing, I don't know what does. I'm not sure what else I could even say about this.
Does the word "gender" still refer to the thing that the wikipedia page "gender" is about? If not, well, we really threw a good word into the trash
-
Also, everything jordan peterson talks about is bs, as he only talks about distinct things... Wait, that does not sound right....
He might be not so conscious, but don't get hating on people that you recognize as less conscious as you, as there are infinite levels of potential consciousness thats above you. It way more usefull to look up, not down.

If one stops viewing everything trough non-duality goggles for just a second, genders are a legitimate thing. Everyone posting here is a product of a man and a woman, denying this is just lunacy. The body that you are aware of, that you can call "yours", has a gender and a distinct biology that differs from your wifes or sisters biology. Remember! No non-duality goggles. Go ask your father and mother, they know. Just because you gender is not a thing in your current experience, like sights and sounds, does not mean that now it's not a thing at all. It's precisely that: a thing in the world of duality.
A solid rigid gender based on your genitalia does indeed not exist as a real thing, thats in the mind, as the shirt you posted suggests. But thats gender IDENTITY, thats a whole different thing.
If you seriously think biology is a scam and an illegitimate thing, I suggest you pick up a biology book, go outside to read it and shut off this forum for a while. Biology describes a distinct feature of this "dream", and inside the dream its completely legitimate.
Yes, every distinction collapses under non-duality and that horse is only a wet spot on the floor at this point on this forum.

If not, I would strongly recommend eating human food as an energy source

Invest in a proper zafu and zabuton, it will last your whole life and it's well worth the investment. Really easy to keep you back in a straight and natural position, if you don't have extremely tight hamstrings and lower back.

... I hope it goes without saying that looking directly at the sun WILL damage your eyes.

Projection and opinion alert!
New videos are way deeper and more interesting, but i feel He has become harsher also, maybe because he whips himself so much. Theres also a very subtle putdown tone in some of his videos, I quite honestly sometimes feel a bit bad about myself after watching his videos, where he talks about how much effort should be put into things. Feels like im lacking so so much in many aspects of life, eventhough Im constantly doing my best.
He did address this in the critique video though. We'll see. If you're reading this @Leo Gura, you are allright mong, remember to relax every once in a while if you feel beat up
