  1. Dont join the army. There are so many cons compared to pros. Most of your problems probably root into 2 or 3 main issues, one of them seems to be negative self talk. Are sure your self dicipline is so low that you have to literally be forced to do some mindnumbing labour to get doing some action? Military service is also anti-awareness, and for a reason. Do you want to be institutionalized in place that is founded upon stage blue? I served 9 months mandatory, thank god I was not very conscious back then compared to now because i pretty much hated it eventhough I had the easiest task imaginable while being there.
  2. Damn right. Finding the sweet spot dose for extended periods of meditation and concentration on LSD is important. I find that < 150uq is too little and > 280uq is too much. In between lies a zone where getting into lazer focused concentration is effortless. Breathing becomed deep and easy. The present moment is crystal clear and bright, unfolding spontaniously and naturally. Too high dose, things get too distracting and roller coastery. It's interesting for sure but for me too much strictly for personal developement purposes.
  3. No one can tell but you. One can only speculate.
  4. 90%? I don't think so. I find that most intelligent and open minded folk who don't know about non-duality recognize the limits of science to a degree and think that things like death, life, existence, consciousness and stuff like that belongs to the realm of "too large for a human to fathhom". If you dont know about something, it's not ignorance, it's not knowing. They might think that science "will find eventually the reason for *insert mystical thing* in time", but that is not necessarily dogma, more like rationality, and who can blame them? Science is just the only reasonable option left, because religion is not hip anymore in that sense. People who don't care about the "higher" things of life, when asked refer to science simply because they have not given much thought for it. You might call them ignorant, but yeah who does that help No, people care about what they care about. Most people hold the reasonable belief of "there are no absolute truths". They picked up a (western) philosophy book once, realized it's hard, thought about some things here and there, and came to the conclusion that stuff probably is never black and white and you can never really know much about the world, other what science can teach us. Well that's quite obvious, for most people that is not the case. Society and beliefs are much discussed here and in Leos videos, so I wont ramble about it here. For most people, they just suck beliefs like a sponge without knowing it and form their metaphysical beliefs and assumptions from there, call it "close enough" and live their lives without too much further though. What could you do in that situation if you don't know about non-dualism? You can pick up either a philosophy or a physics book. Most people probably intuit that the physics route will lead to more physics and philosophy will lead to more philosophy and that's quite true. If neither is you interest, well, you are in a dead end. I personally stumbled upon non-dualism not firstly because any noble quest for truth, but happiness. I believe this is the case for most of self actualizers on this forum. Maybe I'm wrong, but I get the sense from your post that you feel that people are just dumb for not knowing about non-dualism, like that everyone is on an egoic quest for finding a personal god in science. There are many developments going on that is opening minds for anti-scientific explanation for things. Netfilix, with a growing userbase of over 120 000 000 users has a often featured and suggested documentary about DMT, for example. I don't find that insignificant. That is just one example, but consciousness is steadily finding it's way into pop culture in a serious way, and that train cant be stopped. Ps. Identity is not a problem, its a feature. You subtly inflated and built upon your ego by making this post, and precicely because its a feature im not judging you.
  5. Non-dualism is a belief untill you experience it, so any thoughts about it just sits superficially on top of your feeling of emptiness. True spirituality is not just about love and kindness and all the positive, it's about facing EVERYTHING head on. Admit that the feeling is there, and allow it to be there. Ground yourself in things that you like, take a walk outside. I literally beat my depression by taking long sad lone walks. During one of those walks I just realized that i choose to identify with a feeling, that comes and goes. You too can realize that your feelings and inner commentary of your feelings come and go, and you can choose to identify with them or not. Im not suggesting more mindfulness, more like acceptance and cobtemplation. We all want to face and know the bliss because its easy and pleasant. The hard and painfull is there so that you can know the good and the blissfull. "Im not mature enough" is a thought. You dont have to become anything to recognize it as such. Good luck!
  6. Disliking is different from seeing things as they are, without attachment.
  7. Wanna score consciosuness gains and listen to sounds at the same time? Listen to tibethan bowls. Ideally get one for yourself. As the kids say: feces is currency
  8. In your opinion, not everyones. If you judge others by not agreeing, it tells you something about your state of developement. Not attacking or judging you personally here, just a general thought about spiral dynamics. I whole heartedly agree with you.
  9. Damn thats a tricky one, you are not the first guy to post THIS thread. The stingy truth is that true growth can only come from the inside, that you probably already know. You can set an example with your actions and help as much as your heart can give, but you cant make them self actualize. To tell someone with glaring basic life problems that they need to improve will most likely just lead to resistance as subconsciosuly they intuit what you say is true, but at their level of awareness its registered more or less of a passive aggressive attack. It will only enforce toxic behaviour negative self talk. If they dont know about lower and higher self, they really just dont know better. It's not ignorance, it's not knowing. You cant help yourself at any given moment if you dont know something. The money thing? You need to tell them the truth of how you feel. You love them as they are your parents and they love you (right?) as you are their child. That love wont be shook from a difficult confrontation. You dont have to be overly harsh, just make sure they understand that what they are doing is not okay. There really is no easy way to deal with this.
  10. Welcome to earth! It's spooky and weird in here.
  11. Research + practise until you are dead. Google is your friend, so is actualized.org.
  12. Truffles are weird. The trip is qualitively different compared to your regular good old mushies, in my experience. It's hard to describe but the mindfuck is different and the visuals are way less intense.
  13. @Solace I saw a white being this morning when I looked into a mirror. Im pale as FUCK!
  14. @Outer well I be damned
  15. "Satire is a genre of literature, and sometimes graphic and performing arts, in which vices, follies, abuses, and shortcomings are held up to ridicule, ideally with the intent of shaming individuals, corporations, government, or society itself into improvement." - wikipedia Im hardly ridiculing or shaming anything, Im pointing out the fact that when the west involves itself in african problems in good faith, it often looks good on paper but in practise things dont work out as the system that africa is works in sometimes unexpected but understandable ways. Crime? Systemic problem Corruption? Systemic problem Hunger and thirst? Systemic problem Unemployment? Systemic problem History of slavery? Systemic and cultural problem that is difficult to understand in the year 2018 All the problems work in sync and feed into each other. Thats why I claimed there is no simple answer to op's questions. Prospering nations should help, im in no way implying it's a hopeless situation. It's just really complicated.
  16. Theres no answer to "how to help/save africa" as it's just so big of a system affected by other systems. Every move other nations make towards helping triggers a chain reaction, outside and inside forces make a move at the same time. It's just issue after issue after issue. Feed them, they stop working. Dont feed them, they starve. Every action has a reaction and every reaction causes an action. Its like a system that continually collapses on itself as it cant sustain progress, as there is so much force undoing every bit of progress.
  17. Maybe drop all self-help for a while a contemplate your sense of victimhood, its overwhelming in your post. Ground yourself in things you enjoy doing, and eventually start to implement techniques when you feel ready. Practice acceptance, you are already as whole of a human being you could ever be. It's the classic paradox of self help: you need to accept yourself as is and also strive to improve. Balance is key, and finding that perfect balance is never really achieved. It's like balancing on a bicycle, you never just lean right or left. You'll get there, good luck!
  18. You can listen more audiobooks in 10 years than the next 10 people will read in their lifetime.
  19. @martins name Neurotically trying to implement stage green values at any cost, because anything else is stage red and stage red = bad, with a sloppy strategy. Diversity, compassion, empathy, openness, generosity and sharing implemented forcefully in such a way that it leads to a harsh divided nation with high ideals and low success. This forcing of ideals leads to deterioration of true free speech and redefinition of what speech is free and what is not. Rise of violence and crime in concentrated areas and a bubble of everything-is-jättekul in other areas. Acceptance turns into blindness, diversity turn into it's opposite. It's like stage green without awareness. Sweden is a prospering nation however.... it's not like its turning into any sort of uncontrollable chaos any time soon.
  20. @Hunter Arrington LOL can relate "Without effort you will never reach it, with effort nobody has ever reached it." Neo-advaita thrown in to the trash in one sentence.
  21. @Rilles Nice guy or not , I don't know, but what I do observe is that when Ether posts, it's rarely fruitful or encouraging. God damnit I can't find it, but in some Rubert Spira video he spoke about loving contemplation. When you contemplate (meditate, inquire) your essential nature, it "should" be the most enjoyable and interesting thing you would like to do at that moment. He said something like "Turning the practice to a chore is absolutely besides the point/travesty to the practice" Like all things in life, balance is key. There is time for grinding and striving even when it hurts, and time for loosening up and letting go of the need to practice. The purpose of practice ultimately, is to realize that there is nothing to practice towards anyway (if awakening is your goal). But that insight must be earned by practicing like a dumb donkey.
  22. @luckieluuke Actualized.org 101: Do not reply to Ether. Srs.
  23. @WildeChilde Sweden is a textbook case of stage green gone wrong. It's more like a backlash to stage red thinking, giving an orange spin on stage green. Progressiveness at any cost. This forum needs a "society" subforum. More and more threads relating to society are starting to pop up in odd subsections. I don't know if that is what actualized.org want's to be about, but pictures of icecream trump don't belong in "meditation and consciousness". @Leo Gura
