@Rebec I'm not saying he should avoid emotion-and-shadow work. The opposite. When you completely own that you create your emotions yourself, you can't blame anyone else or any other 'outside' circumstance anymore. This is fucking scary because it makes you realise it's all in your hands to change. So, you start taking full responsibility of your emotions and learn about why they arise.
-
@Rebec Notice and actually experience for yourself that no one creates anger or frustration within you. It's all your creation. You choose to act and react and interpret things a certain way. What would it look like if you literally did not have an opinion or a set way in your mind about how the world should be?

@Charlotte Well I hope it passes soon then, I wish you the best ?
-
@Charlotte Mhh, then if you’ve ruled out diet and mental-state, hormones is really the only thing that remains isn’t it?
-
@Charlotte Could indeed be what is causing it. If you eat whole foods and plant based and keep oil intake low, diet is very unlikely to be the culprit. Unless there is still some foodgroup your body doesn’t tolerate very well. Do you have a lot of stress and/or emotional craziness :p?
-
@Charlotte Have you eliminated most of the oils you use? I eat a whole foods plants based diet and even when eating like this I noticed myself breaking out. Turns out in the dinners I ate was a lot of different oils. When I stopped using these oils for cooking purposes my acne vanished. Acne’s cause is for everyone different, but trying this out could help you if you haven’t already.

I like Adyashanti’s description, Spirit waking up to itself -
I've tried reading multiple books at once a couple of times but I find that for me it's better to have one book to be committed to. I'm aware some people have no trouble reading multiple at the same time, but in my case I start half-assing books if I do it this way. Bottomline, find out what works for you. I think this is different for everyone.

@Dan Arnautu My Top Strengths Appreciation of beauty and excellence Forgiveness and mercy Curiosity and interest in the world Industry, Diligence, perseverance Fairness, equity, and justice With 1 and 2 being my signature strengths. So far, I've been thinking about my domain of mastery being the body. Movement, strength, efficiency all have been things I've always been really pulled towards. Freerunners, Yogi's, Bodybuilders, all people I really admire and look up to. Getting stronger and being able to use my body more effectively is something I take much joy in so this might be the thing I've been looking for. Hopefully soon while progressing further through the course I will find how I will be able to combine my most important values and signature strengths with this domain of mastery, and also find a way to have a strong impact on the world.
-
@Dan Arnautu Yes I'm working very hard on it. I'm already quite sure about what I will want to master but it's still a bit vague in my mind. Luckily I'm only at Life Purpose Exercise #1, so that means I will have plenty of exercises to get clearer view on what I specifically want to do. Nonetheless, I have ADD and most of the terrible concentration I have fixed through loads of meditation but I still lack the capability to strategically think and have clarity and order. That's something I would really like to learn as not having this skill is really holding me back a lot.

@Samurai Y Close to finding it. 2/3 into the course.

I found it a really interesting video, showed and made me realise how much I judge and have assumptions about religions. I’d like to look deeper into this subject, much to learn from these different traditions -

Alright, I’ll give it a go. Have been looking for an in depth book about meditation for a while. This book looks fit for that. -

Keeping your meditation habit consistent is important so if you can only manage 20 minutes a day, that's fine. In the end it will be so incredibly beneficial to you. I have troubling planning my reading too so lately I've been trying to incorporate it into my morning routine. I wake up --> Meditate --> Eat breakfast ---> Read for 30 minutes. Finding space in your day might seem very difficult at first, but when you write down what you do all day (at least it was for me) there was a lot of time spent on unhelpful stuff such as watching Netflix, browsing the web, etc. while I actually thought I had no time. So, try this out yourself and see if you can find different times during your day where you are not doing something valuable. See if you can fit some reading in there if you are able to create some room in your day. Wish you the best!
