  1. Something to do with the creation or manipulation of a linear narrative perhaps. History. "Something" - George Harrison (Beatles) Something in the way she moves Attracts me like no other lover Something in the way she woos me I don't want to leave her now You know I believe and how Somewhere in her smile she knows That I don't need no other lover Something in her style that shows me Don't want to leave her now You know I believe and how You're asking me will my love grow I don't know, I don't know You stick around now it may show I don't know, I don't know Something in the way she knows And all I have to do is think of her Something in the things she shows me Don't want to leave her now You know I believe and how
  2. Why & How am I conscious of being entity "X" and not some other entity/individual? If "the" everything came from the "Big Bang". Could electrical wires in a vehicle be said to be it's "brain". What makes the "human brain unique". Apparently a sea hydra loses it's brain(Navigation) once it attaches itself to a rock (J. Peterson). A lot of nerves are located in the gut, as well as the skull.
  3. @vibrate What do you use to keep your hair clean, if not shampoo?
  4. "Take her into the fetus frightening room." "That's the machine that goes PING, it means your baby is still alive!" There are no more barriers to cross. All I have in common with the uncontrollable and the insane, the vicious and the evil, all the mayhem I have caused and my utter indifference toward it, I have now surpassed. I still, though, hold on to one single bleak truth: no one is safe, nothing is redeemed. Yet I am blameless. Each model of human behavior must be assumed to have some validity. Is evil something you are? Or is it something you do? My pain is constant and sharp and I do not hope for a better world for anyone. In fact, I want my pain to be inflicted on others. I want no one to escape. But even after admitting this—and I have countless times, in just about every act I’ve committed—and coming face-to-face with these truths, there is no catharsis. I gain no deeper knowledge about myself, no new understanding can be extracted from my telling. There has been no reason for me to tell you any of this. This confession has meant nothing….” ― Bret Easton Ellis, American Psycho
  5. The battle for the mind of North America will be fought in the video arena — the videodrome. The television screen is the retina of the mind's eye. Therefore the television screen is part of the physical structure of the brain. Therefore whatever appears on the television screen emerges as raw experience for those who watch it. Therefore television is reality, and reality is less than television. -------------------- Determinist/Materialist(?) - From "A Clockwork Orange resucked": I do not think so because, by definition, a human being is endowed with free will. He can use this to choose between good and evil. If he can only perform good or only perform evil, then he is a clockwork orange – meaning that he has the appearance of an organism lovely with colour and juice but is in fact only a clockwork toy to be wound up by God or the Devil or (since this is increasingly replacing both) the Almighty State. It is as inhuman to be totally good as it is to be totally evil. The important thing is moral choice. Evil has to exist along with good, in order that moral choice may operate. Life is sustained by the grinding opposition of moral entities. This is what the television news is about. Unfortunately there is so much original sin in us all that we find evil rather attractive. To devastate is easier and more spectacular than to create. We like to have the pants scared off us by visions of cosmic destruction. To sit down in a dull room and compose the Missa solemnis or The Anatomy of Melancholy does not make headlines or news flashes. Unfortunately my little squib of a book was found attractive to many because it was as odorous as a crateful of bad eggs with the miasma of original sin ---------------------------------------- Not sure how a person can reconcile Materialism(or physicalism) with Freewill, even though people act as though they have freewill in general. So if freewill(as in the concept of actual choice) is to be accepted as true, then it would be theism(as in a personal God) or some kind of psychological fluke, perhaps being evolutionary advantageous in the conveyance of communicable "moral concepts"(or agreements), though in the latter case not genuine freewill. Determinism & Spirtuality(?) In contrast to actually know Determinism(not just speculate in terms of causality), one would have to be non-human and Freewill (would be in the concept of creation). It's a Kind a Magic - Queen Changes - David Bowie. "Turn to face the strange". Near Death or Actual Death Experiences: Would be interesting to know what actual effects are caused to an individual. Though there are many many recurrent themes in pop-culture and Mythology referencing changes in personalities and eerie intuitive abilities or noticed affects, coincidences.
  6. Fire Brigade - The Move. Cast your mind back ten years To the girl who's next to me in school If I put me hand upon her leg She hit me with a rule *Though tomorrow won't be long You're gonna have to play it cool You get fascinated by her She could set the place on fire **Run and get the fire brigade Get the fire brigade See the buildings start to really burn Get the fire brigade Get the fire brigade If you jump you've got to wait your turn...
  7. Red and yellow and pink and green, Purple and orange and blue, I can sing a rainbow, Sing a rainbow, Sing a rainbow too!....................
  8. Kind of like creating a spell book. Heroes of Might and Magic 3 (TBS/RPG), style. Which given that "Introverted thinking" and "Ex Intuition are my dominant MBTI traits, may be a good idea. Having listened to John Taylor Gato(on Youtube), talk about Benjamin Franklin and his personal common place book, autobiography and almanac ("Poor Richard's"). Definitely an idea, it would seem wise to actualise. Matthew 6:34 "Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof." Also didn't Bill Gates, buy Da Vinci's notebook at auction. I don't suppose it really matters too much what format you use, as long as you use it. Could be tempting to get a shiny laptop and load it with games. Was thinking recently about 10" Tablets; light weight and for the 5 Volt charging, perhaps a Galaxy Tab(not sure if all tabs are 5Volt) and a 5 Volt solar panel, for power to recharge whilst backpacking. No idea how Android rates with Onenote got to be some decent reviews on Youtube and techforums.
  9. @Moreira How did you discover the truth, could you recommend any sources?
  10. Are "contribution" and "creativity" values or more like personality traits or processes?
  11. @egoless "Knowledge is limitless, your life is not, if you value knowledge you will be in trouble." Chuangtzu. Having said that I which would you prefer growing "vegetables" or "people"? Have the same MBTI (INTP), imo that inferior extroverted feeling can be a right pain, swap it and "Enter the Dragon" ENTJ executive. An interesting video series I have seen on Youtube by Urbanfarmer Curtis Stone. Showed growing salads mostly in Kelowna. I have done some backpacking in Canada including Kelowna, now Kelowna is a pretty expensive upmarket city 2nd or 3rd most expensive in Canada, I think the first is Vancouver. So if you went down the vegetable route pick a wealthy market to sell to, take advantage of "marginal utility" In the UK(it sucks, yeah could be worse) where I live most of the time, some farmers have 10,000 acres the former PM Father in law 140,000 acres. Can be between £50-400 a ton for potatoes of varying quality purchased from a farmer direct, probably cheaper than that in The Netherlands. So unless you are going to be refining a product or selling into London, commercially questionable imho. Obviously everywhere is different and I find it interesting to get different perspectives, on different places. On the people side, perhaps start with teaching people English ad hoc or whatever. Imho avarice for new knowledge or entertaining things can be a huge pitfall for INTP, but the greater one is vanity (perhaps it is a big problem for all personalities speculating really). The "Don't Ask Other People What Your Life Purpose Should Be!" I thought was very poignant. Which if you do is a form of vanity, "Vanity is the fear of appearing original: it is thus a lack of pride, but not necessarily a lack of originality."- Nietzsche
  12. @LaucherJunge So would the Shiva way be similar to Christianity? Could you recommend any seminal texts on Buddhism or Hinduism?
  13. "I Ching Oracle - the Wilhelm/Baynes version". Looked up that edition on Amazon, has a forward by C.G.Jung, which really peaked my interest, as I was thinking about how Jungian Archetypes might relate to the I Ching. A while a go initially thought the book, was just some weird random number generator like some folded paper kids game. But at a second glance, it does seem to have some interesting archetypal psychological implications, reflected in everyday life.
  14. Spoken by Prospero The Tempest (1610), Act 5 Scene 1 Shakespeare Ye elves of hills, brooks, standing lakes and groves, And ye that on the sands with printless foot Do chase the ebbing Neptune and do fly him When he comes back; you demi-puppets that By moonshine do the green sour ringlets make, Whereof the ewe not bites, and you whose pastime Is to make midnight mushrooms, that rejoice To hear the solemn curfew; by whose aid, Weak masters though ye be, I have bedimm’d The noontide sun, call’d forth the mutinous winds, And ‘twixt the green sea and the azured vault Set roaring war: to the dread rattling thunder Have I given fire and rifted Jove’s stout oak With his own bolt; the strong-based promontory Have I made shake and by the spurs pluck’d up The pine and cedar: graves at my command Have waked their sleepers, oped, and let ’em forth By my so potent art. But this rough magic I here abjure, and, when I have required Some heavenly music, which even now I do, To work mine end upon their senses that This airy charm is for, I’ll break my staff, Bury it certain fathoms in the earth, And deeper than did ever plummet sound I’ll drown my book. Maybe end up with something off of "Pet Semetary." I mean I have heard that psychedelics increase openness (which is correlated with IQ(actual or conspiracy)). On the other-hand dying and being raised from the dead, imho and inferences, possibly going to fragment a person's psyche and coherence, sometimes very subtly. John 11 43 And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. 44 And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go. Lazarus come forth!!! (fairly disturbing video)
  15. Simplicity - With which it is possible to be Generous. - Lao Tzu (1 of 3 treasures) Tin man. When a man's an empty kettle he should be on his mettle, And yet I'm torn apart. Just because I'm presumin' that I could be kind-a-human, If I only had heart. I'd be tender - I'd be gentle and awful sentimental Regarding Love and Art. I'd be friends with the sparrows ... and the boys who shoots the arrows If I only had a heart. Picture me - a balcony. Above a voice sings low. Wherefore art thou, Romeo? I hear a beat.... How sweet. Just to register emotion, jealousy - devotion, And really feel the part. I could stay young and chipper and I'd lock it with a zipper, If I only had a heart.
  16. Not really negative thinking, as all thinking is positive. But from a depressive side I can understand. I guess there is diminishing returns with forums. Do you do anything else to learn or add to your knowledge? I mean there is a lot of books out there you can read etc Blue days, black nights, doo wah doo lang I look into the sky (the love you need ain't gonna see you through) And I wonder why (the little things you planned ain't comin' true) Oh, oh, telephone line, give me some time, I'm living in twilight ELO - Telephone Line.
  17. I think if the absolute truth were easily accessible, it would be something like Raiders of the Lost Ark. I guess the Ark is a symbol for Absolute Truth. The whole Descarte Dualism about the primacy of experienced reality i.e is there another layer of reality, brain in a vat scenario. I resolve by going with the primacy of consciousness, with matter and animals exhibiting different levels of consciousness. The Dualism of reality argument also implies infinite regress which would also have to be accepted, as well as the Euthyphro scenario (whether the gods love the pious because it is the pious, or whether the pious is pious only because it is loved by the gods). Instead of just being. Psychologically though I think most people act as though Dualism is actual, Yes or No, Choice, Personal Freewill, Determinism etc.
  18. Yeah can't personally really relate much to intense pain. Maybe answering the question. Who are you baring the Pain for, might help and Why? I've noticed that when I've cut my leg on a thorn and not noticed, I've felt no pain (clean cut). But seeing the wound provides a simulated pain and throbbing. FOLLOWING VIDEO IS PRETTY GRAPHIC.
  19. Poverty. Death will come when it will come. But, poverty is more soul destroying for lack of better words at the moment. Poverty is not equal to being poor, I think with being poor you have some awareness.
