  1. There is not really a risk of jumping out of the window on mushrooms. With salvia there is an actual risk of that, but it's a completely different type of trip. It's not recommended to do salvia alone, especially in an apartment or any other potentially dangerous place because people do freak out on salvia and can be operating in a completely different incomprehensible reality. Mushrooms aren't really like that, you're still "here" unless the dosage is extremely huge, in which case you're voyaging internally and not really moving around at all, and you are still conscious. I would put a caveat that it's conceivable that if someone were suicidal, perhaps they could get into a bad headspace on the trip and make some very bad decisions, so if someone were feeling suicidal, I would recommend a psychiatrist or councillor and not mushrooms. BTW there's a fancy word for jumping out of a window: defenestration.
  2. I don't find that DPT burns much at, maybe it's just the batch I have, but it's really smooth. My 5-MeO-DMT burns more, which is funny because the dosage is smaller in mg. Yeah that smell just puts my body into an instinctual alarm mode! I can imagine getting over it and relishing in the psychedelic vapours, but for now I'm fine with not going there and sticking with my instincts. It's definitely a very psychedelic smell, perfumed and rotten and toxic and sweet all at once. Yes, the lingering smell is very strange and would be hard to explain to polite company....
  3. A strong possibility is that I'm bad at vaping and was actually burning it, and noticing the weird combusted chemicals. But the taste and smell of it.. I just can't get over it, my body rejects down to the core, it makes me feel uncomfortable. I've smelled people vaping DMT quite a bit, and it's a very similar smell that really turns me off. I don't think I can vape DMT because of this. It's a really all encompassing smell like shit and flowers and plastic all combined. Gives me the creeps! *edit so I think by "feel" I mean my own feelings about it, rather than an actual feeling it gives me in my lungs. I also never succeeded in having any kind of breakthrough with it that way, it always felt kind of fiendish, vaping, waiting, wondering if I should do more etc. Never got around to try plugging it. I've had no problems sniffing it and it just seems more convenient and efficient to put it up my nose.
  4. @Girzo I didn't like vaping it, it feels so toxic in the lungs to me. I reckon IM would be good, but that's a pretty bold move and you'd have to have micron filters, sterile rig etc, and it could get very creepy and medical or sketchy feeling pretty easily. For me, in the end I just stick with snorting it, I find it's not too bad.
  5. I believe Girzo is about right re the potency of fumarate vs. freebase, from what I remember. This is assuming that both are completely pure. I've found 20mg of fumarate insufflated to be a very high dose. With plugging it's meant to be a little less potent, but regardless I certainly wouldn't advise jumping straight in at 25-40mg plugging. Every individual will respond differently and you need to work your way up to determine the correct dosage for yourself - as well as to get the experience with administration.
  6. Came across this article on New Scientist. It's paywalled, but the teaser is still very relevant, I'd like to read the whole thing. When you go down the stack of turtles, at each level there are no inherent/absolute properties, only relative ones, right down to the quantum scale: https://www.newscientist.com/article/mg24933250-500-quantum-weirdness-isnt-weird-if-we-accept-objects-dont-exist/
  7. Yeah agreed, it's not some kind of inviolable axiom, more like a pattern.
  8. People can be prescriptive about how you should or should not use psychedelics, but I like to promote a more laissez-faire approach. Listen to your heart and guts about whether you're using them in a way that's in harmony with yourself. Psychedelics are agnostic, there are many many ways to use them, and that includes pure fun and recreation. I would say to keep your recreational doses moderate. @Forestluv's recommendations for dosage and frequency are spot-on, I'd second everything they said. Don't treat psychedelics like toys, and also don't be puritanical about them, life doesn't need to be serious all the time. It's great to taste all of rich colours and textures this life has to offer.
  9. An entry level dose of magic mushrooms is a great place to start, don't start with 5-MeO-DMT. 5-MeO-DMT is a hardcore psychedelic.
  10. Salvia just means "sage" in latin and spanish, so it's probably just some regular old sage herb in teabags, the kind you use in cooking. When people talk about Salvia in the context of this thread they mean Salvia divinorum, which is the specific species of Salvia that makes you trip. It's very unlikely that those teabags contain Salvia divinorum.
  11. Yes they mean paper in rectum. I say just stick it in your mouth and leave it between your gum and lip, then swallow after some time. It's simpler and absorbs very quickly and efficiently this way. But bum hole is fine too if you want. ALD-52 is aka 1a-LSD, which is a "prodrug" of LSD. It's a compound that has a slightly different molecule than LSD, but once it enters into your body, your natural metabolic pathways cleave the variation off, and it becomes LSD. 1p-LSD is another prodrug. Both are unrestricted in many jurisdictions.
  12. I don't have personal experience with 1cp-LSD, but everything I've read about it leads me to believe it's functionally the same as LSD. This makes sense since it should be a prodrug for LSD. Some people claim that there are subtle differences, which is certainly possible, but it's very hard to tease apart the effect of expectation with psychedelics. In any case, many people who do report differences seem to like 1cp-LSD the best out of the LSD prodrugs, and some people even like it more than the OG. It seems like a winner to me, but if you have easy access to LSD, there might not be much point in acquiring a big hoard, since it's probably not much different. OTOH, I really like the professional blotters from these clearweb vendors. They tend to be consistently dosed, well vetted (vs "street" acid), and low hassle. I've used 1p-LSD for microdosing, and it's very effective. I don't microdose regularly at all, but I've found 3-5ug to be my sweet spot for the occasions when I do. I'd expect the dosage for 1cp to be the same, but everyone's sweet spot will be a little different so you have to experiment.
  13. Criticism, discussion and argument is fine here, but this is meaningless blathering. Keep your nonsense to yourself please @Hulia
  14. In some ways conventional nuclear power is great - it's a reliable energy source, it's non carbon-emitting. One of the big problems is that the waste products last for millennia. It's a really hard value calculation to figure out if it's fair to burden future generations thousands of years down with line with the nuclear waste from today. The counter-argument is that if we don't do this we're going to roast the planet and there won't be any future generations to burden. But I think there are other more palatable options: Generation IV reactors hold promise for being much safer and producing far less waste. Thorium reactors - thorium is abundant and has a much cleaner life cycle than uranium Hopefully nuclear fusion will come online and be feasible as a clean energy source. Failing all that, we do have this giant fusion reactor in the sky, and solar panels are continually becoming cheaper and more efficient. Ironically, if one were to be a pure environmentalist, the best choice would be nuclear. It produces the least C02 and damage to the environment, except when they fail. But when they do fail, the radioactive pollution harms individuals, but populations still thrive. As a result, Chernobyl for example, is a thriving wildlife refuge - it turns out radioactive waste is less harmful to wildlife than people are. But I think most environmentalists are actually humanists, and nuclear power, at least the old styles of plants, do carry a lot of risks for humanity (including being a fuel source for apocalyptic nuclear weapons), thus the public's concern has justification.
  15. By definition in the buddhist sense at least, yes, along the way boredom will cease. Complete equanimity means that no state of being is unsatisfactory.
  16. I've never tried saliva, but I've read a lot of similar reports of people having the experience of turning into inanimate objects. So interesting and bizarre! Everyone I've talked to who has done it is quick to warn that it's not something to fuck around with. It does seem to me like full-blown doses are so out there that they might not be that useful aside from giving that experience of being completely absurd, so I'd be curious about intermediate (more than micro) doses.
  17. I've always thought the "half plus 7" formula is a good guideline for minimum dating age. The reverse, for max dating age is "minus 7 times 2", so your 19 year old friend might want to be looking more for a 24 year old as the upper limit. By this guideline, a 36 year old should be dating 25+
  18. As many of you know, Alan Watts was a very wise philosopher. Personally, I've benefited a great deal by listening to him. I don't know of many teachers/philosophers that get right down to it like he does. You can type Alan Watts into youtube, and almost anything that comes up will be pure golden nuggets of profound wisdom. It wouldn't be right to not mention the official holders of his IP, and curators of his work, the Alan Watts organization https://www.alanwatts.org/ Please add your favourite Alan Watts videos and so on here!
  19. Yes, Hypernormalization was really good too! He has a ton of great material, but I'd definitely point people to this new series and Hypernormalization first, as they are most relevant for today. @tuckerwphotography His stuff repels being boxed in on Spiral Dynamics at first glance, but then when you do, there's really no better fit and you see that it's 100% Stage Yellow. Glad you guys are checking it out! edit: the full series seems to be mirrored here, for non-UK residents: https://thoughtmaybe.com/cant-get-you-out-of-my-head/
  20. I'd encourage you not to indulge in judging and categorizing into enlightened/not-enlightened. Not just towards Leo, but in general. I mean, do what you will, but ..it's a questionable categorization to begin with, and regardless, obsessing over enlightenment is counterproductive. Great replies in here.
  21. I don't think sex is ever "casual". Maybe it can get to that point for some extremely promiscuous people, but there's inherently so much vulnerability and intimacy in sex, I think it's extremely rare for sex to become a casual exchange. So the question is, in my mind, can there be too much of this kind of sharing and intimacy with many different people? It's definitely physically dangerous without condoms. It's emotionally harmful if it's done without openness, respect and caring for the other person, in both (all) parties. I think it's possible to be very promiscuous and to do it right, but it's extremely challenging and probably not sustainable for most people/women. See the book "The Ethical Slut". Not my cup of tea personally, but I think it's kind of the bible for poly people.
  22. Nice one @Persipnei It sounds like you've overcome this. It sure gives respect for how powerful an addiction to a more addictive substance like opioids, benzodiazepines, stimulants or alcohol can be, and how much of a challenge that could be to someone wrapped in those tendrils. Watch out for addictive behaviour in other aspects of your life.
  23. Yeah we haven't even talked about all the electronic waste when these bitcoin miners have to upgrade their rigs to stay competitive.
  24. They can, they are, and they already exist. There are many "bitcoin 2.0s" out right now that use less energy. People just don't hear about them as much because bitcoin gets so much hype. The hype started due to BTC being first to the game, and is amplified and extended due to willfull blindness on the part of people who have skin in the BTC game (miners, hodlers).. I'd love to shill my favourite projects on here, but crypto tribalism is just so ugly and annoying. I'll just bite my tongue and say there are multiple next generation crypto projects (2.0, 3.0..), so check it out.
  25. Ethereum is actually not on POS yet, it's still POW and is nearly as inefficient as BTC. I know they're working towards POS, and I deeply hope they make it work, because it means ETH will use about 1% of the energy that it currently does. I haven't followed the other projects you mentioned, but I believe they are POS like you said, which is ridiculously more efficient than the POW that bitcoin uses, and a far better approach if you care about our planet at all.
