There are different takes on how a UBI should run/look like but the point is towards simplification not complication as is currently with existing social supports, the less conditional it is the more accessible which is the point of 'universal'. Could just start as like a 'dividend' of whatever surplus is collectively generated up to some sort of 'cap'. Yes, people will argue endlessly over what the appropriate amount is and why we would give such a dividend to someone like Jeff Bezos but that's kind of a distraction to not do anything at all.

@Forza21 Because that's not what Leo says in every post/thread, he does give practical/relevant answers most of the time.

Do what feels right to you. Try a bunch of things and see what feels good to you. That way you have a higher chance of finding someone that resonates more with you I think. Personally really enjoy the process of getting to know someone too.

@Onecirrus Yeah it's unfortunate... seems like people who are loudly opposed to a UBI (even some leftists) also often are the struggling 'working class'.

@Raptorsin7 I'm sorry about your experience.. yes there is stuff in the relative that can be worked on/healed and shouldn't be bypassed imo. Sounds like that's what you needed to move through whatever struggles you were/are going through.

Meeting people where they're at seem a common issue... and he perhaps has more influence in this as a mod. Personally don’t have trouble with his style but I can see how some can get frustrated. Depends on the approach, can be green/yellow. How much does someone attempt to understand and balance multiple sides/the complexity of the issue/having nuance/new information vs having a one-tracked mindset with every issue (eg, some social cause they believe in) and try to fit everything into that theory. Maybe it's not common yet to find authors/advocates who try to balance multiple sides because those tend not to get 'popularized', but it doesn't mean people who study it currently or policy makers for example don't try/attempt to so it totally depends on how you're using it. The field itself like anything is capable of moving towards Yellow just like other "fields".

Well I don't think it's unreasonable you may initially get a "I want to vomit" reaction.. Hopefully it subsides though.

Is it possible that you hold some negative beliefs around being assertive? Labels like "bad", "bitchy", "difficult", "tense", "selfish", etc. Maybe these kinds of labels are holding you back from being assertive. Often people use guilt tactics on us which reinforces those kinds of labels and keeps us trapped in not speaking out/take actions. One could start by reframing one's intention for being assertive such as "I am honoring my values", "I am just as deserving of love and understanding as the other". Another aspect is to welcome the 'aloneness' this may bring on and confront any fears you may have about what people might say or do. Easier said than done but I've been there .

This may not be completely resolved through knowing something. It most likely has to do with a lack of being seen and accepted for all of who you are growing up. Therapy can be very useful for this but I get the barrier to access. Unless one day it just occurs to you that it’s a construction .

Well this place is on the leading edge I feel when it comes to spirituality, life purpose. Other things like shadow work or "practical" areas is a mixed bag but at least it's open to going in that direction. Is healthy to do research outside of this place. And only you would know what areas of resources you need the most right now.
