Eating chocolate does not bring me pleasure. I understand it tastes good. I also understand how sugar effects my mind and mood, and so effects my life. I understand addiction and withdrawal. No thank you. "You need some money to exist, survive and sustain. Beyond that the money that you earn is only a number" I beg to differ. Personal development, growth and expansion can be done with no money, but can be done more enjoyably and efficiently with money. Money is not bad, attitude can be bad. An attitude that money is bad, or even useless, is the justification of the monkey ind itself. It does not benefit me to assume that someone with millions of dollars is "chasing" anything at all. I find it more accurate that they learned not to chase anything, which freed them from their fears, and directly led to them doing what they loved and thus they made a lot of money. How can the second half of what you said be true if the first half is true?

I am curious, who you have listened to, to get the idea that your mind can not be completely turned of at will. Zero monkey mind. It does take time. I think you and I must have very different connotations of 'expansion'. Is yours benefitting you? Desire does not bring suffering. Monkey mind creates attachment by repetitive worry, and thus suffering. When monkey mind is resolved, desire most assuredly does not equate to suffering. Escape the paradigm that obtaining something resolves desire and monkey mind. This will never work. Your rituals and commitment to practices resolve monkey mind. Let it be simple and apply acceptance. Do the practices, know they work for everyone without exception. It is the ego which that 'I'm the exception" traces back to. The very thing that is producing the 'me' monkey mind. With all the love - life is feeling EXACTLY like what you've been eating, doing, thinking. Change those and you change how you feel. thought, then emotion.

@Callum A what led you to post it? Spot that. You're actually doing the thing your post is suggesting awareness of. -
Books are great. Imagine the home / environment of someone who doesn't take the steps back. Would their kitchen be wrapped around healthy? Would the center of their environment be a TV or excercise equiptment, yoga mat, etc? Would they meditate daily and choose to maintain their higher state, even when hearing from someone going through 'problems"? Would they know the surest way to solve a problem, is to create it?

There is a discovery that you are nothing. IMO, this is where most people stop going deeper and start giving advice to others about how they can become nothing also. Some people keep going and discover that they are everything. -

This sounds very backwards to me. SOunds like you are trying to experience love, etc from others, when it is within you to be experienced already. -
Who is stopping you from doing anything you want?

So many extremes here. Is it not enough to feel good for the sake of feeling good. Just enough money to survive or a slave to money? What about traveling, experiencing new things, giving and helping others? You can certainly completely be rid of monkey mind. Then what will you do for continued expansion and development? Retreats? Vacations? New hobbies?

I don't know how long it will take, more than it has I guess. It could take a minute, it could take another year. It's up to you. It always has been. You can find happiness. The entirety of your experience of her, all happened in you. You're not going to go from where you are now to that kind of exhilaration in one day, but over time, you most definitly can feel like that again, without her or anyone.

There is so much available online. It's a buffet just for you. Try it all, eat what you like. It doesn't benefit you to express disdain for the mashed potatoes.

@Akeberg It's always a good time to seek help from the outside. The more things you try, the bigger your view gets, the smaller your problems are. To me, It sounds like you're resistence isn't taking what other people say so seriously, it's that you're being so serious at all, about anything. You're list of PD material so far is great stuff but overall it's maybe...serious? Are there other sources or materials you use? Fun stuff? Notice how you have a clean mental slate when you wake up, and within a minute you pick up the resistant thoughts you carried yesterday. Just notice. You'll see you don't have to. Have headphones at the ready. Listen to something positive. Don't get out of bed. Take 20 minutes that is just for you to get your trajectory of your day pointed towards connection, unconditionally. Thoughts of what you have to do will pop up, but it will just have to wait 20 minutes. (IMO Abraham Hicks clips on YouTube are great for this, Timberlake, Jackson, Motown, Time to Pretend, etc) Do that every morning, and from that day on, just be aware of how you feel good, and notice when you encounter something or someone and start feeling less than good. Just notice when you "lose" that good vibe. Noticing this is a big step. When that happens, just be mindful that God/ Oneness /Universe is everything. Every single person and thing you can see around you is literally God. Be aware that wherever you go, God is everything around you always. Take comfort in the stillness, or silence, or backdrop behind everything. YouTube Elkhart Tolle. Be sure to relax your entire self and breathe from your diaphragm and belly when you can, through out your day. This triggers and aligns things you would not even believe. What happens over time is you are changing from being influenced to influencing yourself. Eventually, you will influence other people and situations without saying much. Noticing this is a big step also. Play the game, all day, every day, of noticing a good feeling thought... and a not good feeling thought. The choosing gets more refined & relaxed. Over time, you will begin to go entire days without a single resistant (not good feeling) thought. Your body will respond and you'll process / metabolize food in a more beneficial way. Your skin will look even healthier. Your eyes will sparkle more. You will start to notice that you were tired before from all the resistance thinking and you'll have higher, cleaner energy all day. You won't have the same perspective about what other people think anymore. It won't be something you even really think about.

@Paul EMD Religion is being agreeable or at least faking agreeability to dogma. To me, just my connotation, a sect a group within a religion who were put off in some way by one or more leadership members so they go their own way, or become like minded in holding disdain.

Hard Sun When I walk beside her I am the better man When I look to leave her I always stagger back again Once I built an ivory tower So I could worship from above And when I climbed down to be set free She took me in again There's a big A big hard sun Beaten on the big people In the big hard world When she comes to greet me She is mercy at my feet When I see her pin her charm She just throws it back again Once I dug an early grave To find a better land She just smiled and laughed at me And took her blues back again There's a big A big hard sun Beaten on the big people In the big hard world There's a big A big hard sun Beaten on the big people In the big hard world When I go to cross that river She is comfort by my side When I try to understand She just opens up her eyes There's a big A big hard sun Beaten on the big people In the big hard world Once I stood to lose her When I saw what I had done Bound down and flew away the hours Of her garden and her sun So I tried to warn her I'll turn to see her weep Forty days and forty nights And it's still coming down on me There's a big A big hard sun Beaten on the big people In the big hard world There's a big A big hard sun Beaten on the big people In the big hard world There's a big A big hard sun Beaten on the big people In the big hard world I interpret this song as written about the writer's enlightenment. I think when he's talking about 'her' in the lyrics, he's referring to 'the way', he has discovered, and when he sings the chorus, he's referring to the people yet to be enlightened, believing in 'a big hard world'. -
@username Anyone can prime their mind with a hopeful outlook by reading, redecorating, talking, listening, etc, to hopeful things. It is good. An enlightened person wouldn't flirt with hopelessness to begin with because there is no need to be hopeful if you are here, now. Hope is moving the mind from now to the future. Now is good.
