@Gligorije What’s the brain made of? -

@Timotheus One outta three of those are real. Hell is a great example of the importance of direct experience, and what a trickster maya is. -

Nahm replied to Manjushri's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Gligorije Maybe start with your reasoning for how consciousness is a product of the brain. That way we can meet you where you’re at. -
Nahm replied to nethernalbeing's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@nethernalbeing It seems your awareness has grown and encompasses meaninglessness, but if you continue, you’ll see it encompasses creation too. “Turning to a lifeless husk” - that’s meaning, let it go. You were perfectly made to be you, so be you. -

@cle103 Absolutely brilliant insights, worded so clearly. Practices really ‘paying off’. Great stuff man, thank you for sharing. -

But what is appearing as gravity? And what is the nature of gravity? -

@Jack River I can relate. It’s worth it. @Faceless ?? -

Ya but what if you have free will and there is no point so you’re free to do whatever and you do what you really want to do? That could be True, just yet unrealized (given the question). What if there’s no “normally”? What if some people have free will, and some actually don’t? What if you think you do, but you actually don’t? How could there be nothing (nonexistence)? What or where would it even be? How could it not be relative to whatever it is next to? Why (not how) does meditation make you feel better? What you gettin in there? Have the epic adventure of looking into everything you see, think, & believe and root out everything that’s false, or, not your own direct experience, because it’s up to you what matters, and Nothing matters quite a lot. You actually get to pick. -
Nahm replied to Voyager's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Voyager I get the impression you might not be aware you’re adding an unnecessary sense of urgency, critical importance, and universe sized pressure on yourself with your awakening. Like you’re building a house, with a mindset you’ll only be happy once it’s built, so there’s no enjoyment in the process of building the house. Once it’s build though, you’ll see there is no point but the enjoyment of whatever you’re doing, right now, wether that’s watching an ant, or solving world hunger. The mind creeps in assigning meaning to everything, and all that meaning is relative to the ego. This is the very nature of the awakening you’re pursuing. Every moment, everything actually is ok. You’ll study, you’ll do fine, etc. Also, back to back psychedelics the same day might be taking a toll on you - and you’ll go way deeper alone than with someone, even if they’re awesome to be with. -
@Pouya By beating up on yourself, you’re doubling, tripling, what there is to be let go of. Becoming aware means becoming aware of everything, so it can certainly be rough to become aware of unwanted habits, how we’ve handled certain things, etc. But don’t bring identity into it. Don’t say “I am” and then anything bad. That’s a whole different level. Try to appreciate the miracle that you can even do the practices. It’s a beautiful thing, waking up. For many people, beginning the practices, it quickly becomes the best part of their day, and the rest of their day follows into that spaciousness, that unconditional space. Be very on purpose with letting any self judgmental perspective go, and you’ll expedite the whole process, simply by being present. What you’re realigning with is not judging at all. Let judgment go. Let meaning go too. It actually does not matter if you practice or not, if you awaken or not. Doesn’t actually matter. So take the path just for the experience of it. For the fun. For the adventure. Just for you. Also, you are right on, in realizing you can not believe what anyone says. Only direct experience is reliable. Maya is always as tricky and as clever as you are, until neither are.

@Nadosa Maybe stop talking about awakening...might be feeding into over thinking...just do the practices, and focus on breathing from your stomach 24/7. Thoughts will slow down and eventually stop.

@Timotheus I was suggesting you’d be applauding for all the actors, those that played the good roles and the bad roles...when the play is over, there never were good or bad actors....just characters playing the roles. -

@KMB4222 You were ‘let in right from the start’, you’ve never had to believe anything anyone has said. @Timotheus Imagine right now you’re applauding at the end of a play. All the actors taking their bow. -

Nahm replied to metwinn's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@metwinn Ya. You’re on the right track, keep rockin. Follow it through to what are all beliefs? What is validity, really? -
@zoey101 You’re adorable. You’ll be fine. Self discovery is an awesome adventure. ❤️

Nahm replied to Time Traveler's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
“Wave function” points at reality (You) from within a scientific vernacular and paradigm , particles are dream stuff (you). The only way ‘around’ nonduality is self deception (pretending there is something other than You). Doesn’t matter if it’s a “lofty” topic like QM, or something as simple as a drop of rain. The observer, the observed, measurement, ‘collapse’, etc, all dream stuff. When seen in it’s entirety, the illusion is just light. The benefit of seeing you exist as pure potentiality........whatever you want to be. Freedom from the conditioning of believing in the appearance of consistent “reality”. Shocking freedom. The brain doesn’t like this because it’s purpose is to hide this very fact by assigning meaning. Put another way, the role of the brain is not to solve the observer “problem”, but to hide the Truth, that there is no problem. If there’s no meaning, there’s no problem, if there’s no problem there’s no story. No meaning assigned = total freedom. Everything you could want to do is the same when you let all meaning go. Because in truth it doesn’t matter in the most literal sense what you are doing right now. It traces back to the concept of identity, which is all falsity. If I want to be nice, there’s meaning. If I want to be smart, there’s meaning. But there is no such thing as identity, because there is no such thing as something else to identify you. You can think you know more about what you are, and you’ll know less about what you’re doing in this life. You can focus more on what you want to be doing with this life, but because in that you’ll be changing (in a mental appearance / idea of self sense), you’ll paradoxically know less about yourself while discovering more about yourself. Until there is only self. The pure potentiality of you. The wisest person I’ve met once said, “It’s nonsense”. -
@Mount Bananas It’s funny because it doesn’t actually make any difference for you wether anyone approves of (validates) what you’re doing. It just simply doesn’t make a bit of difference. It’s ok to laugh about it. You’re gonna do what you’re gonna do anyways. It doesn’t matter. Lighten up. ❤️

@Tistepiste LMAO! That’s awesome.

@Tistepiste I hear that. Me neither.

@Tistepiste @Feel Good I appreciate what you guys are sayin. It could be the nature of communicating online, and how diverse the subjects are on the forum. Sometimes I notice the Self Actualized section, labeled as the ‘main section’, has far less activity than the Enlightenment section. It’s like there’s a channel that someone needs to be learning from, but there’s this other channel that’s just far more interesting. This is just human nature I guess.

@zoey101 Therapy can be helpful. Overall, though, of course you can get yourself back to good. You just don’t realize yet how you have caused your “problems”.
