  3. @Pat Pagano A surprise change in perspective. Try it today. No commitment to any perspective. Flow from any one, to any one. People engrained in one perspective will be thinking you’re very funny. Just make sure you are taking your humor seriously, and don’t mess up. It’s not a game.
  4. Panic attacks will not be resolved with thinking, evidenced by the lack of any person to do so scientifically speaking, and also evidenced by the sheer debilitating power of a panic attack. It’s simple, but a big recontextualization: What does the panic attack say? It says, “I don’t care what important things you have to do, I don’t care about your obligations to others, I don’t care about your bills, or your job - I don’t care about any of that. You have not been putting your experience first, you have not been putting you first. You’ve been trying to “solve problems” for a long time, you will acknowledge the only way to happiness, is putting how you feel first, then proceeding. You will learn this now. I love you so deeply, I can not watch this go on for another minute.” Sit. Bawl. Release. Care about how you feel. It is unwise, proceeding without love / being. What would even be the point? That is the point. You. Happy. That’s it. That’s all. How much love is there for you, that unseen powers can drop you to your knees until you acknowledge this? Infinite.
  5. @Tony 845 Are you conscious? And are you conscious, that you are conscious? (Consciousness knows consciousness) (aka) Are you aware? And are you aware, that you are aware? (Awareness knows awareness) How many “Self Aware’s”, are there? One In direct experience, has there ever been two? Of course not. This is known so simply, obviously, and deeply - that you are missing that you are it (consciousness, awareness) And so you keep thinking. But you should know a couple things: 1. There is no absolute word. The definition of every word is more words. 2. There is no absolute thought. The meaning of every thought is more thoughts. It is a ‘three cups and a peanut” situation, until you realize there’s no peanut. Just the three cups game. An illusion, entirely. A game.
  6. @Matt23 I used to “bring me & my past” into this moment too. So much so that I didn’t know what people even meant by ‘seeing reality as it is’. I also started the practices, I’ve also hit myself. Literally hit my head so hard I barfed, and had to go to the hospital, had a mild concussion. Not a fan of you hitting yourself, but loving what comes next. It comes out, clears out, with creative expression too. Journaling, singing, sketching, painting, creating your own well being / alignment - all powerful. Therapy, talking to a good listener, also more powerful than you may know yet. These are things you can do, which ultimately, no matter your path, reveal the present. Past & future thinking, “what I am” thinking - just gift wrap. Can you pin point how it is that anyone is giving you these negative experiences? That hard to face, that it’s your perspective. You’ve gta lot of conditioning, repetitive negative thinking, about yourself. A moment will come when the mood changes. When you just get so ick f the rollercoaster, the bullshit, the suffering, that you will literally do anything to make it stop. Even create who you’re gonna be. That tight feeling in your chest is You, The Higher Self, The Inner Being, Truth. It is because it is the Truth that it can not go there with you, when you choose to think ill of yourself. When you feel that, listen to the message. You are The One. It’s admittedly obvious and easy to miss, but consider, you’ve not ever been two. That would not actually be possible.

  8. @purerogue (op) Awareness of the deeper currents is in addition to awareness of the surface waters. It’s not like you don’t know what’s going on or can’t see who anybody is, it’s that you see what’s going on and know who everybody is. Intelligence, love, consciousness, were never a product of the brain.

  10. @Bauer1977 In about a month my kids will get showered with gifts. It will be awesome. It will be magically awesome, because they have no idea where the presence come from. They will just enjoy the gifts, and have fun. They don’t think about the past and present. They don’t know anything. They’re just kids.
  11. You are happiness, it is true nature. "Higher consciousness" = Happiness. You are free. You are so free, you can choose to deny, or reject yourself - (happiness). That takes a lot of work though. It's exhausting.
  12. @Enizeo I hear that. I had the same problem in meditation as well as lower back issues for years, sciatic, etc. Tried Dr’s, chiropractors, shots of cortisone , changes in diet, etc. It has been a nonissue, 100% for a few years now. What I found: An exercise which basically looks like laying on your stomach, and raising each foot, one at a time, up into the air, as far as possible, without straining. Takes five minutes a day, and the benefit accumulates over time. I do this standing, using a Bowflex, with 100 pounds of resistance. (Start with laying on the floor, with no added resistance.) Specific foods like carbonated beverages, and sugar caused inflation, making the issue far worse. So relative to meditation, it’s an issue because the back muscles are not as strong as the rest of the muscles in the body. Once there are stronger, it’s a nonissue. You’ll forget it. Paradoxically (always right?) you’ll eventually be able to relax every muscle, all the way down the back, hips, legs, while effortlessly sitting up straight, for having put in the effort. I sit on a meditation cushion, made for meditation, not a misc pillow. This is important so as to be sitting up straight without flexing any tiny muscles in the hips, back or otherwise unnecessarily. It’s tricky too, because it can take 30 minutes of meditation just to feel a tiny muscle finally relax / inflexible. Also, head slightly tilted forward/down is important too. I’d think of it as the opposite of the initial point of drifting off towards falling asleep.

  16. @gilded_honour Sit w back straight, head tilted slightly forward, and achieve complete relaxation of every single muscle, to the point that surrender is a more accurate word. You want the body to be as relaxed as it is in deep sleep, with your energy at full intensity - as if you were waiting for a burglar to round the corner to pounce on him. Every cell should be awake and ready. If posture is poor, or you aren’t meditating first thing in the morning, you’ll dose off, or lean / fall over, or you’ll not be physically balanced and therefore tensing certain muscles to counter balance / stay straight (not lean / fall) without noticing you’re tensing because you are used to tension in the body, and therefore don’t notice it. The very thing (tension) that you’re unaware of is the point here, and awareness itself is the ‘cure’. Carry this into each day and sustain it - awareness of any tension in any muscle, and relax it, awareness of the culmination of all senses with intensity, mindful of every sense individually, without identification / reaction. This is not habitual, but nonengagement, full of awareness, and complete detachment through awareness of all habits / conditioning (aware of them, wether they are happening or not doesn’t matter, awareness is curative and worthy of trust.) When you notice reaction, wether muscular or mental, relax, and return to fully aware, and nonreactionary. Even as reactions occur, wether physical or verbal, be aware of, not involved in. Back out / relax out of it, and stay aware. Notice the sound of a voice, is not the sound of your voice. Be that unattached, and that aware. ‘that’ voice is no longer your voice. Notice thoughts are not your thoughts, be aware thoughts are things, like trees are trees; there is no mechanism or justification of “yours” to be found, that is just another thought; awareness is unconditional and omnipresent, and never appears in pieces, as it has never not appeared. If you experience some ego freak out, a “mantra” can be useful, and I’d consider: “Only awareness is aware of awareness” (said as a prayer would be, as if you’re telling someone “It’s ok, everything’s ok”.) Don’t “mantra” unless it feels needed. Allow any emotions to arise, and play out, be aware and that is enough. After some practice a couple new things arise... When you have ‘returned home’ so to speak, in nonreaction, the finite ceo / “decision maker”/ over thinker/over thinking - naturally recedes, and the intelligence will manipulate the body (it actually is “the body”) , aligning things, stretching things, cracking things, etc, just allow this. It’s difficult not to mentally react to this at first because it’s new, just relax again, it is curative, trust it. With enough surrender, deep relaxation, the brain & body & thought will start to disappear, and only breathing exists. The breathe will minimize on it’s own (don’t “attempt” or “do” this) until there is literally no breathing. In “witnessing” the falsity or illusionary nature of the breathe, awareness is aware of awareness. This is a euphoric experience. Don’t go telling people. They will not believe you, and you’ll sound crazy, cause, of course we have to breathe, otherwise we would not be “alive”.

  18. @Strikr Try to notice during breath awareness meditation that each thought arises on it’s own accord, in a linear fashion. Though it appears so, in actuality, one thought has absolutely nothing to do with the very next thought. The understanding is of infinite consciousness (you), not a product of some series of thoughts. (that - is yet another completely stand alone thought). It can be helpful to label each thought, a,b,c... or 1,2,3,... - using your voice, out loud, for the purpose of awareness of the space inbetween each thought / the silence in between the words. That space is consciousness (you), the space thoughts are transpiring in - emptiness, the same as a voice transpires, or arises in, the silence (you). From there, less falsity, or ignorance in identification is needed for thinking to continue to cease. This is the same as more awareness, consciousness, in terms of identification. Consider, given that all there is, is consciousness, many thoughts arise simply in maintaining a complete cover up, or preserving the beliefs supporting a separate entity. It’s a lot of work. That, requires effort, it is effort; contraction - tension - over thinking...unconsciousness. (Doesn’t feel like effort after many years of it - we don’t notice) Relaxing the body relaxes the mind,directly lessening overthinking. Relaxed body = consciousness. (Feels wonderful after many years of efforting) It is also helpful to add the opposite thought to each arising thought. This reveals or points right at the dualistic nature of thinking (or the onesidedness used to forge the “separate identity”), and also brings awareness to the space in which both thoughts of opposite perspective are arising. Ex: Feel how both are “true”, as they are equal, level, merely arising and not to be believed or identified with. This will lessen the amount of thoughts, as well as lingering questions which contribute to over thinking. Also, you could look into; double negatives, unnessessary complexity, purposeless abstraction, circular logic, and problem creating, in terms of awareness of reactionary conditioned thoughts. Incrementally, there’s what appears to be an overall diminishment of thinking (in occurrence & severity), as well as the “arising of awareness” (It was all that was really there). Hopefully some of that is helpful. Don’t ask how this is known though.
  19. @MM1988 Sounds like overall you’re doing pretty well. That “hole”, is it from patterns of negative thoughts about yourself? Have you tried therapy / counseling?
