Don’t make the same mistake yourself.

This is a tough way to address your beliefs and work through that armor. You don’t have to be this tough on yourself. You could do it like people regularly do, in therapy, or talking with someone who can listen, and wants to help. Not sure this is going to help you, publicizing your outbursts and making accusations like that. You know people made threads, and you read what they said. What you don’t see are their intentions, or what they actually did or didn’t do. For your own well being Mikael, make the distinction between what you’re experiencing, and your beliefs.

@Paul92 “Where do I start?” That’s the best question you could be asking right now. You’re trying to start at self realization and work down so to speak, and finding out that does not work at all - because you just have a bunch of thoughts and ideas about self realization. Let it go already. When you want to, stop trying so hard to be right, and start being happy. “How can I return to normality” = I’m overthinking and lost in thought stories, how do I realize I’m just sitting here and I’m safe, and fine? None of this depression is about existentialism. It’s about your perspective on yourself, and your life. Write on paper about how you’re feeling. Start therapy. Get a massage. Try Reiki. Go to a Meet Up with people going through similar things. Get outside and breathe. Call up a friend, or family.

@UDT If you’re making a lot of money doing something, you can start your own business doing it. You can grow it and replace yourself. Then, you can do the work. Caves are nice too.

It is easy to underestimate our own devil. It’s intolerable to questions like, “Did you experience being a guy who had his head cut off?”...no. You are experiencing a thought about a guy having his head cut off. Why are you confusing the two? It’s actually so you can pretend, so you can suffer. I am not telling you to stop.

Same thing. First one you’re aware is on you. Second one, you’re blaming God, unaware it’s the perspective you’re choosing.

Sounds like you ‘get’ something, but don’t want to share it because it’s very personal, so you express it using art. If that’s what you’re saying, I get that. I just can’t ‘get’ references to your actual experience as a communication, without any communication of details about it. That’s fine though. It’s intriguingly lovely I suppose.

@Key Elements Sorry, I am confused, and assuming I just am missing something. Are you saying don’t pursue self actualization, suggested practices, psychedelics, etc, (“methods”), but rather just live your life purpose and enjoy the unfolding of the realization organically? Are you asking what good would it be to realize you’re infinity, as in what impact that has on the rest of this life, including life purpose? (And that it would sometimes be realized but missed, but found through thinking?)

Watch out for that stuff. Our suffering is self imposed. MAybe contemplate beginnings & endings.

@moon777light At a point I had to switch to first thing in the morning. It reduced overthinking and increased mindfulness. Started really slowing down and enjoying the days.

@Ampresus Thanks, no need to apologize. It’s just how the adventure begins. Take a week off. Give yourself a break. Ultimately what’s needed is to be aware of what is triggering you so you can understand what ‘being triggered’ really is, then and respond / create instead of reaction from impulse. Meditate & self inquire. If you get overwhelmed, write and or draw about how you’re feeling on a piece of paper. Write the story of it. See when it started, who’s involved, what were their roles. Were veiled in ignorance? What will they learn which will set them free? What can you forgive them for, what can they forgive you for? Is it true you can still see love for them? Is it true you can see they were driven by love?Then burn it. “Journaling” (my bad, sorry) is something different. This is so you know what to do when meditation and or self inquiry are overwhelming. Observe thoughts, sensations, and perspectives - all the time. Observe, learn, understand, enjoy it.

@Truth Addict It seems to me you went through some stuff, and are taking a well deserved, much needed rest. If & when you’re ready, keep going in everything. Don’t sweat not having the insights and ‘ah ha’ moments for now, those are on the path. When you get back on, trade all your intellectualism’s for actuality, and materialism for self realization. Or don’t. It really is fine either way. Truth does set you free though. And the gym is great for energy.

@How to be wise And realized that, had you not been so “right”, you could’ve had that realization much sooner on in the path? (This is intentially aimed at triggering the ego)

@Truth Addict It’s not easy to get to the honesty of ‘I don’t know’. That’s a good (but hard I know) place to be. With respect to the ‘numb’ ... Are sensations arising which are being avoided? Are there any particular thought patterns which are giving you trouble / or appear to trigger sensations? Who can you forgive, for you? (To let them go) What habits would you stop / start? Have you experienced the space between thoughts in meditation? How has self inquiry gone? Have you used pen & paper to express thought patterns & sensations that arise in self inquiry? What is one thing you can let go of from the past? What is one thing you want in life, in the future? Why do you want it? In what ways can you love yourself more?
