@Joseph Maynor You have skin in the game.

It’s much like thinking. You can’t really stop thinking, and you can’t be unconditionally happy. You can do practices in which thinking subsides, and you can inspect your conditions allowing your true nature to surface. Your health will thank you. By letting all of your thinking go, you will realize the answers to those questions.

@Paul92 Your interpretation is conceptual - thinking - an interpretation. You are believing your idea of nonduality is the same as the direct experience. Like if you texted someone your thoughts about being on stage, playing guitar, etc - in comparison to that person actually being on a stage playing guitar with a band. Do you see how ENORMOUS the difference is? If that person confused the two, they’d be thinking your words about playing with a band are the exact same thing as if they actually played with a band. So they would say things like, “Why would I bother playing with a band, I already know what it really is”.....and you’d be like “nope. No. No sir, that is not the same thing.” This is what you are doing with nonduality, but you don’t seem to see it. Or you do but won’t honestly admit it.

@Paul92 Are you able to make the distinction between hearing about something and experiencing it? Like if someone told you sex was pointless and terrible, and then you experienced it directly and knew for yourself what is really was, for example. That’s what you have going on here. You’re projecting & experiencing denial. That is a tough combo because someone in denial truly does not know it. Psychoanalysis is made for this. Everything people are suggesting would help you with the specific things you are struggling with. But you’d have to stop projecting your existing belief that counseling won’t help, there’s no point in doing the work because you already know there’s no point, etc. We made a whole thread of personal experiences showing how many of us were where you are, and how utilizing resources, and doing the work - worked. (Happiness, Wholeness) Do you have it in you to be humble, to admit you don’t really know what these things you’re talking about actually are? Is there any willingness to question your existing beliefs, as to how you really know they’re true? Can you be vulnerable enough to question your beliefs, to discover they are the source of your suffering? Is there the open-mindedness & honesty to take that first step, and admit there is suffering? Imo, you should be talking to a therapeutic professional, and your parents (honestly and openly), but in light of your resistance to do that...know that I’m available to talk, or simply listen. Hit me up anytime. Unfortunately I feel you will find a reason to box me out too...but for what it’s worth...Can you just consider that a guy with plenty of responsibilities, who is asking nothing of you, no money, no commitment, nothing in return, simple wants to help....can you just consider that perhaps you have been wrong about nonduality...perhaps there is a Love to be discovered which is so wonderful and moving, that people actually just want to help? You have the same access to this Love. It’s just a matter of trying.

@thesmileyone Get back to basics. It may not appear easy but it is not complicated. Existentialism is not helping the overthinking. Meditation is the Way. -

@Farnaby No. I’m saying everyone is a one off. Try different diets, then you’ll know. I also found meatlessness, and dairylessness more ideal. -

@Farnaby I think if you try different diets you’ll know what you need to know from direct experience in terms of clarity and energy. -

@zunnyman You should wait 10 years before, so there’s less risk of breaking yourself. -
Leo’s got an excellent video on money psychology. Abe Hicks has a lot of great material on this as well.

@Swagala No words can teach better than suffering. Rather than pity, seek to understand, and once you do, you will realize the organic nature of compassion. -

@kieranperez What if it really is all Mind, and the Kenyan’s are not competing with “themselves”, rather, simply running to where some thing is. They could “beat” the competing American with one leg, or literally, none. -

@Angelite At the same time though, is there really anything “wrong” with identifying as a “wanter”, and identifying other “wanters”? If One wants to believe in separate people, that these wanters are made of genes, etc, who cares? Let One “path”. It’s not like there is a choice between two. -
@tashawoodfall Clean diet, meditation, & self inquiry...AND take ALL the help available to you. There is wisdom in taking the path of least resistance, as well as a knowing which arises in doing the emotionally difficult thing. Do all you can in the name of well being. In honesty, this could mean realizing you need no one, no thing...and can just as well mean you need help from someone. We do indeed create our own reality, and as Well we are all in this together. To deny either does not feel so great. Self honesty is liberating, regardless of the content.

Nahm replied to Chumbimba's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Chumbimba Sorry to hear man, that is rough. Give this a try...sit and relax, breathe deeply. Let every muscle go, head to toe, a few times. Keep breathing from your stomach. And ask your higher self for clarity... Ask, is this bad feeling because I do need someone.... is this bad feeling caused by the thought that I need someone...then kind of just wait and listen for the clarity. Maybe ask the two questions a few times. Be 1% asking, and 99% listening so to speak. I believe you will receive an answer, the clarity. Might bring some tears and release in either case. Hope this is helpful. Try to notice, each time a thought arises suggesting you need to go back with her....ask if the ‘bad’ feeling is because you need her.....or if it’s triggered by thinking you need someone to feel good. I’m not suggesting you remain alone for life or anything, just that you are enough, just being you is enough. You’re an unexplainable miracle man. -

Nahm replied to sausagehead's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@sausagehead The best attitude will serve you the best. Sounds like you’ve got that figured out. Notice how circumstance, situations, and people frustrate you, trigger you, etc. Observe the steps that unfold there in slow motion. Notice the role your interpretation and contextualization play in terms of how you feel in relation (or not) to what is seen & heard. Trust your emotions, not your thoughts. There are no ‘bad’ emotions. There is internal emotional support letting you know when your thoughts are not true. It’s difficult to actually listen to your emotions, but you’ll save tons of time if you get in tune with them asap. And...there is no such thing as a past or future. Dwell on “the past” if you choose to, just be conscious it is now, where / when you are choosing to do so. Try bringing awareness to sight, sound, feeling, etc - where you are now, instead. Good luck!
