  1. @RedLine Imo you quit just as the practice was helping. Let the body & mind take out the rubbish. That is the desired effect, not a side effect. There are underlying beliefs, misunderstandings, and misinterpretations. That’s why it feels scary and often frustrating, and that’s what’s emptying. You can take concentration to incredible levels, you can also inspect beliefs, emotions, direct experience, and release a lot of what is obscuring concentration. Every single thought & the being or content of it, is samadhi. What is best for your body and mind to release & realize more well being, and concentrate more naturally? What does feeling say? What does conscience say?
  2. @RedLine Nothing could be found at every school, but it would take no more than a hundred thousand hours.
  3. You are already not the avatar, you are appearing as the avatar and realm of duality, so there is already not duality, so the belief to let go is that you are only the avatar, and are separate from anything. If there was anything which could ‘merge into’ nonduality, that would imply there is not nonduality. This is like a flashlight asking from the perspective of the lens “If I remove the lens from the flashlight and there is only flashlight, when the lens is put back on, would the lens return to the light on the wall?” The ‘flashlight’ is eternal and appearing as the lens and light on the wall. The belief to inspect is death, and I’d break it down in terms of direct experience of thought, perception and feeling, and scrutinize how & what you directly experience death to be. No, actually. There is only nonduality. Also, it make sense why someone who experienced trauma would have a likelihood of more fear in ego death, and why there would be an increased likelihood of reaching the void and wrestling with nihilism. My advice would be to contemplate a slight rephrasing of your question, writing down anything that arises...”Why would ego death be scarier for someone who experienced trauma?” If it’s helpful, start from the premise - “wouldn’t it actually be easier?”
  4. You’re looking at thousands, maybe tens of thousands of hours of concentration practice.
  5. @Buba There’s no such thing as heterosexuals, homosexuals, bisexuals. There is heterosexuality, homosexuality, bisexuality. Sexuality is not a problem, judgement is a problem. But there is in truth no problem, this is the gospel, The Good News. Praying is an outward oriented movement, an emptying out, so that your true self is brought forward, arising from within.
  6. @m0hsen Practice Zazen, transcend paradox, use koans. Practice telepathy, like riding a bike, but non riding a bike. Realize your deception fully. Mindset wise, by the time you’re experiencing it, it’s very ordinary.
  7. @Consept Whenever considering if someone else is enlightened...if you let that entire thought story go swiftly & completely, you’re left with at least a more accurate conceptual idea of what the word actually points to.
  8. @StarStruck What you’re experiencing (imo) is the confronting of all that you’ve been attributing to “my ego” (your beliefs)... or Being, just without the beliefs (Truth). There isn’t an ego, there is the belief “my ego”. There isn’t ‘the one a trauma happened to’. As offensive as that might be to hear, is equal to the intensity of shedding it, via the use of the substance. Whch way is easier is up to one. Anything that could be said to be “the ego”, is you, and you’re the one saying it. The belief in itself “distances” you (in experience), as it itself is a belief that there are two of you...you, and the ego. In truth there is not two of you. This twoness in belief, only confuses the trauma experience more. You’re experiencing ‘that’ truth. Now, you can notice all of the thoughts which support the foundational belief in ‘your two-ness’. You already knew the falsity of those beliefs by the discord in feeling. You’re essentially taking a big dose of that same feeling, in one moment. From the beliefs of twoness, when the discord was felt, the feeling was rejected, to support and perpetuate the beliefs. So in a way, you’re experiencing the reversal of feeling & beliefs.
  9. Murder, suicide, and abortion are absolutely the same. It’s not that God love’s abortion, it’s that abortion too, is God. Guilt, shame, etc, all made up. Or not.
  10. @Virtually Yes. I want to clarify though, what I’m saying has nothing to do with Leo, Peter, you, nor me. (Also, in case it makes a difference, I didn’t read the article or watch the videos posted. Which admittedly leaves room for miscommunication on my end)
  11. In all my trips I’ve never contemplated. It never occurred to me to look at it that way. It could be said to be bringing a condition to what is without conditions. Maybe I assumed Truth was the teacher and I was the student. Contemplation, imo, is none other than the thoughts which arose, which you utilized to express & type the op of the thread. There is a certain ‘clinging’ to that thought which arose, in ‘utilizing it’, to make the thread. Nothing “wrong” with that at all. Another perspective on it, would be...what if instead of “clinging” to it & “utilizing it”, you simply returned attention to perception & feeling (which indirectly lets the thought go). I suggest, in the clearing of the mind as such, that inevitably another thought would arise, one of more feeling, more of an insight than a thought. And if you let that insight go, another would arise with more feeling. I suggest this is because the source of you is the source of thoughts as well, and is loving you unconditionally, and wanting for you everything you are wanting.
  12. @Virtually Sorry if confusing, it’s kind of the nature of the topic. I meant it in regard to what I quoted, to levels of consciousness. If I am assessing and communicating in regards to your “level of consciousness”, then I am believing there is a you and that there are levels of consciousness, which is to say I am believing there is a me which is experiencing levels of consciousness. But there are not-two, wether that is me & consciousness, or you & consciousness, or a dichotomy of levels of consciousness.
  13. If it’s being described, especially as others and their levels of consciousness, silence, truth, is abandoned, and “that ain’t it”.
  14. @ShivaShakti That sentiment (above) is what that scene actually reveals, in looking past / through the perspective ’the Frenchman schooled Morpheus’.
  15. That is very logical, but I’d wager “it’s” crazy, transcendent of logic. There might be more juice for ya there. Up to you, of course.
  16. That’s an ‘important’ question imo. Notice you’re aware of duality (thinking), but you can not think awareness. @Rilles Much like a magician, if you want to see The Magic, see The Deception.
