@Leo Gura Hey Leo, i'm interested in this. What are the requirements of being a mod and do you provide some guidelines/advice for moderating content?

... the ultimate vegan starter pack haha. Like a broken record nowadays. It honestly baffles me that some people think every human being on the planet could eat a vegan diet and everyone would just be super duper healthy. It seems much more likely that there is a very wide spectrum with regard to metabolic types. Some people do very well on a vegan diet, some people need much more animal protein, some people are in between. The point about gut health may have some truth to it, but again, just because someone has a perfectly healthy gut does not imply that they could just eat a vegan diet. Why would anyone assume that? It completely disregards differences in metabolic typing. Just for the record, I have read the China Study, I have used the nutrition facts website, I have seen the documentaries, I have researched the environmental impacts and I spent 12 months on a vegan diet - 4 years later I am still recovering.

Space replied to Elshaddai's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Elshaddai Just sitting and thinking/feeling about it in silence is usually the way it happens for me, sometimes in the brief moments between jobs throughout the day, in the shower, waiting for food to cook etc. The integration isn't really an intentional manual process. Writing a trip report for yourself can be nice, but often the experiences and lessons learnt on psychedelics are non-linear and don't fit well into a written sentence. Sometimes its good to get things on paper though, especially if you're feeling confused. -
@Chumbimba a great channel for the kind of stuff you're asking about:

Looks like you got a real nice place Leo. Looks kinda modern and new which is nice. You're a lucky guy, living in a beautiful desert with blue skies and sun every day, a cool modern place of your own - jealous to say the least.

This guys pickup style is great. Not just talking about this video, which is awesome, but his coaching style. Definitely a much more conscious well developed pickup artist.

@Forrest Adkins Interesting video. A bit weird how he skipped out the fact that she actually got 7 dates right until the end of the video. I was not surprised by her reaction/comments though. I have exactly the same experience with dating apps. I might be lucky to get 1 match a week and sometimes they don't even start a conversation. Saying that, 3 of my close friends have found long term partners on the dating apps, so it definitely can work.

@DawnOfReality I feel you man, I spent a long time not knowing what I wanted. A few things i'll say - how much time have you spent sitting down and journalling or at the very least intentionally thinking about what you want? I found journaling to be very helpful. Try just sitting down, setting a timer for 20 minutes and write the question 'what do I actually want'. It's important to give this adequate time because usually the first things that you write down are surface level stuff. There's a real benefit of writing these things down rather than just thinking about it. When I say figure out what you want I don't mean figure out some grand life purpose. It could be as simple as 'I want to be financially independent', or 'I want to be earning x amount of money in 2 years', or 'I want to work from home and not in an office', or 'I want to have adequate time outside of work to focus on other skills and interests'. Then based on those things this will help you make the practical decisions that need to be made. One way of coming to know what you want is to write down all the things you really don't want. What do you not want to be the case in 1 or 3 years time etc? Yes I agree with you on your point about trying to look for your life purpose. It's not something that is found, but rather designed and created based on a combination of what you want out of life, your interests, your experiences, talents, skills etc.

Its not that people exist when you're looking at them and when you're not looking they don't exist - even though that might be true. Even if you are looking at another being, there is no person there. There is no separate entity or 'unit' there. There is nothing other than pure happening, pure appearance - which is not a 'person'. The happening isn't separate from other happenings. There isn't anything or anyone behind this appearance. -

@ivankiss Gary Vaynerchuk is a pretty good source for all social media stuff. However he posts soo much that it's hard to find the good/useful information (it is there) without spending hours just watching him ramble. But if you're willing to spend some time to dig into his work I think you'd find that very beneficial. There is also definitely an audience for your kind of music - just about figuring how to get it in front of those people.

Space replied to PukkaDanks's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@PukkaDanks I have actually had a fairly big breakthrough with meditation over the past 4 months. Started meditating like 4 years ago, tried a bunch of different techniques with varying intensity, with periods where I was doing 2-4 hours a day, and then sometimes just 20 minutes. I've also done a few 10 day retreats. But in general any change in my level of consciousness was minimal. In terms of the breakthrough, all i'll say is that psychedelics were likely the catalyst, and specifically 5-MeO, and more specifically a major breakthrough with that substance that occurred earlier in the year. I only need to do 30-40 minutes in the morning and it 'stays with me' for the rest of the day. It's like the meditation has taken on a new form. In fact, in a lot of ways the meditation never stops. Your natural state is meditation. I have scrapped all 'doing' techniques completely. Letting go of all doing and just residing as what is left is usually my go to. So my point is, start working with psychedelics, and specifically large doses of 5-meO. -
@DawnOfReality What do you actually want? Like actually. When you sit down and ask yourself, what do I just really wanna do, what is the answer? Its very important that you get clear on this. This will then give you a much clearer path forward. I'm not saying you need to set out and get clear on the whole of your life. This is more short term, 3-5 years. What do you want in the next 5 years?

Try doing 3 days at home first. Test the waters before you invest a chunk of money. Yes distractions will be readily available but you can put computers/phones away in a cupboard etc. The difficulty with solo retreats is that you don't have some external factor forcing you to go and sit down to meditate and follow the schedule like you do on group retreats. So you need a large amount of commitment, seriousness and discipline. So thats why I suggest testing the waters first with a smaller retreat. But if you're really set on renting a place, look on airbnb. There must be options available on there, particularly in US. -
Space replied to integral's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@integral I've been watching Frank for years. He's definitely awake. He had a series of deep kundalini awakenings which resulted in a permanent state of non dual awareness - at least thats what he says. If you compare Frank's recent videos to his older videos (2019) you can clearly see a significant change. He's so much more authentic now. He speaks the truth as well. This stuff can't be faked. -
I've (m27) recently started dating for the first time and i'm pretty ignorant as to how it all works/what should and shouldn't happen etc. My issue is that I never feel like I want to take it past the first date. I'm attracted to the girls on a fairly basic appearance level, but the attraction never seems to go any deeper than that. I get along with the girls really well, I never feel awkward or like I just want to get up and leave. Good conversation, laughing etc. But it's like I can't get past that kind of friend vibe. My question is, does a deeper attraction form only after a few dates? Or should it be obvious after the first whether I actually like this girl or not? Do I ask the girl out on a second date even if i'm not sure i'm that attracted to her?

@Roy @Girzo Thanks for the feedback and comments guys!

Enough to want to go on a date with them, but I wouldn't say i'm dying to see them again.

It doesn't matter what the kid can and can't see. The truth is independent of the kid and the rapist. You're mixing up relative and absolute truths here. Rape is bad and of course it should never happen, but this is only so relative to the ego. At the same time, rape is neither good or bad from the absolute perspective because as Leo explains in his previous comment, good and bad are all in the mind and not baked into the action itself. -
Space replied to freeman194673's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Rape only seems 'bad' to you as an limited ego/self. Bad and good are purely conceptual and relative. From a higher perspective it's all Good. Try to see from outside your ego perspective. -
@crimson_chess You need to ask yourself whether your resistance to doing the work is a product of laziness or whether its a genuine disinterest in the subject. If you're really not interested in doing animation then don't do it, but also realize that art is not always an easy process that is always fun and enjoyable. Very often, making art is hard, challenging and sometimes boring. The way you know if drawing and animation is the thing for you is; do you loose all your motivation and interest in the subject when it starts getting hard, tedious or boring? Or is there always an underlying passion and interest in the subject despite what you're doing on a day to day basis? It's OK if its the first. But its important that you figure this out, because you don't want to waste more time in something that you're just not interested in. You should also recognize that animation is 1 field within art as a whole. You can apply your drawing skills to many other areas such as editorial illustration, concept design, character design, product design, product illustration, scientific illustration, game design, logo design and probably a hundred other specialties. Each one of these has a whole community of people online providing all the lessons you need. Why are you stuck on animation? I know you said its because animation has helped you out mentally, but don't be attached to it. Be flexible, experiment with other types of art. Try doing an illustration project for example, or some logo design even? There are so many art related industries and jobs. Another option you have is to not focus on doing full projects, which often take a lot of time and commitment and can be frustrating and challenging to complete if you're not experienced enough. Try focusing more on building basic drawing skills, or just drawing one off images, or do lots of experimenting with different mediums and drawing styles, or spend a few months trying to really improve your anatomy knowledge. When I first committed to pursuing art, I spent like 4 months doing anatomy, and filled 3 sketchbooks will rubbish drawings that no one will ever see but served me enormously ever since then. And its still an ongoing process. There's a lot of stuff you can do to improve your artistic skills that don't involve finished pieces, but are still super fun, relaxed and creatively rewarding. If you want to continue on with doing animation projects, try making them really small and easy to finish. It's important that you're able to finish projects. Make five 10 second animations. Then make a 30 second one, etc. You'll learn more and get more experience doing smaller projects.

Interesting, thanks for the clarification. I only comment on it because its such a spontaneous and natural phenomena for me during the trip so its strange not seeing it happen for other people. You mention the negatives of the group session with Octavio, any positives? -

I think the issue here is smoking the natural substance, rather than plugging synthetic like I have done and Leo as well of course. Plugging synthetic seems so much more manageable, safe, and produces a more stable and clear experience. When people smoke the venom they end up just rolling around, basically going completely unconscious and doing all sorts of dangerous shit. I can plug the synthetic substance and remain totally in control with extreme levels of clarity. Also I have never seen anyone smoke the venom and then start doing bilateral symmetry yoga. Why is this the case? Differences in substance between natural and synthetic? -
