Don't you see that you're debating your opinions and beliefs onto others here ? All those long post and quote wars, reactions and projections, where do you think they come from ? @Bodhi123 What makes you think I was talking about you ? What makes you think I was talking about Leo ?

You only get distracted at first, after that, you use everything as a meditation practice. You stay awake and feel your presence while still enjoying the landscape, and actually, merging with it Concerning Zen Buddhist who meditate on front of a while, it is because their meditation (Zazen) is practiced eyes open, you don't need to do this if you practice any other meditation techniques eyes closed.

Don't. For some of you, you won't even have a major breakthrough, it will all be progressive. Day by day, you'll progress, you won't even notice it untill your mind become very still. The only thing you really need, is to focus on the present moment, on the presence of what you are, beyond thoughts, as much as you can throughout your days. Meditation is a good tool too, and is a great need at first, especially if you have an hyper active mind. Later on, meditation will be more on more appealing, because you'll enjoy feeling your consciousness so much, that it will be more appealing than all of your daily activities combined. At some point, this presence will be at the foreground of your life, thoughts and emotions will still occur though. You won't see them as seriously as before, you won't believe in them, you'll just take notes of what they are pointing too. Progressively, colors, sounds, and shapes will be more and more flashy, perceptible and precise. This is because your mind begins to stop its filtering, presence itself perceive life without the mind interference. Then, after a while, you'll start to sense that everything, everything is made of the same (non) substance as you. Everything is presence. You'll start to notice that even inanimate objects will feel alive (it will be very subtle at first). When you'll be there, be very careful to watch in animals eyes, and if you have someone you're very close to, watch theirs eyes too. You'll see something that you couldn't even imagine possible. Some would not get it, so I'll try to explain a bit. You can't think that it will happen in the future, because if you do that, you miss the work you have to do in the present, which is to be fully present whatever the situation. You WILL "achieve" enlightenment in the future, because right now you're not used to live in the present, to be conscious. So there is work on you to do, to be able to transcend yourself along the way, but this work takes place in the PRESENT. This is a paradox you might can't get right now, that's ok, just hold onto it. This dude explain it way better: -

I would say, don't think about it and focus really hard, works pretty fine. You can have a huge will to discover it, but at that point it isn't that it is "serious", it is just that you want to know, you will become more and more genuinely curious. It is a peaceful will though, but firm and deep. Don't listen to your mind when it says "is that it ?" "hey hey is that it ?" "is that concept is right, hey, it makes sense right ?!" or something similar, focus again on the present moment and try to be present as much as you can. It will happen sooner than you think if you just focus on being present whenever you can, and have a steady meditation habit every day. Just don't expect an amazing and sudden experience, that can happen, for sure, but don't expect that (it may never happen). If you expect that, you'll miss the point, which is to increase bit by bit your consciousness level, which ultimately will change very radically your everyday experience It will be radical in the sense that if you look back months/years ago, your old vision of life will seem silly. -
The only thing I remember is that the "boy" wasn't afraid, just conscious that he wasn't dead, but in a way, he knew he was dead (if that makes any sense). I say the boy, but I remember that it was an adult, the feeling was the one of a boy though. I was just the observer in this part of the dream, except the feeling of being conscious I wasn't really dead. @Loreena The boy didn't look like me.

Imagine you're in a dream that last for 30 years, and finally someone shows you a perspective that makes you see life differently. You try things, and at some point you realize that the dream was very real, but all the pain was an illusion. Do you really think you would not want to help other people if this story was yours ? I seriously doubt it, one way or another you will.

I was scared in the same way you're scared when you see a dangerous animal approaching you, but I wasn't afraid to die. @Loreena Does literally nothing when I think about it, couldn't care less

Yeah, I also thoughts that monks who just meditate all day and do nothing really "productive", were egoistical. The thing is, liberation does not come from an external source, you need to want it for "yourself". It's all about vibration frequency, the more people get conscious, the more "good" it is done. The universe is a single white hole (sort of), so if something in it increase in consciousness, everything else does too. Now to get practical, you can directly affect people/animals with your positive vibration, just by being near them. Did you ever meet someone with a presence so high, that you were feeling good (or better) just being around them ? If you didn't, go talk to a zen master, and you'll understand this very quickly.

No, it just means being mad about it is useless and counter-productive.

Must be amazing in spring/summer @Bebop I feel you, at "my" river, there is trash almost everywhere, fortunately, they are scattered enough to not totally waste the landscape.

Just close your eyes and focus on your breath, when you're very still, just focus on your own presence. If you start to think, focus on your breath again, then on your presence again. You don't necessarily need to focus on your breath, but if you're starting with meditation, I would suggest not to bypass this stage. If you see that you can't stay in the presence stage for more than 10 seconds, stay at the breathing stage. Silent mind meditation are extremely frustrating to "newbies", so unless you have some serious experience and stillness already, I wouldn't recommand it.

Before Actualized.org After Actualized.org

Leo probably doesn't want that for the sole reason that It would mean less content in other sections of the forum, because people would spend time socializing on the "shitpost" section of the forum. The goal of this forum is to support self-actualization, not idle chat. We have to watch ourself, and not get too sloppy like I did recently that's all (and more mods, yes)
-
We need more mods yes, I rarely see one online. I vote for you :3 @Loreena I hope you're joking. EDIT: You're right, I've been kind of an ass lately, I admit it
-
Why every post I do turns into a shitpost, or a wildfox zen debate ? Plz staph I'm joking, it's fun I'm just concerned about Leo, these days there is a lot of shitpost on the forum, he probably doesn't like that, you know.
