  1. We do have certain biologically decided character traits that can differ from person to person, but otherwise not really, it's mostly based on our past.
  2. Emotionally not all, but I am secretive about my past. I have been burned before, so I'm very picky regarding whom I tell certain things.
  3. I don't follow a specific pattern. Wake up at 09.00ish Works out and meditates, basic morning stuff) and waste time 12.00 cooks/eats lunch 13.00-16.00 studies uni stuff. 16.00-23.00 spends time with friends/girlfriend (dinner at 18.00ish)or have a look on the forums/youtube. 23.00- ??.?? Have "swedish fika" with one/two of my foreign female friends or study or have movienight or girlfriend. Repeat.
  4. I don't care much for enlightenment either, i meditate, learn and i try to grow. Would i happen to get enlighten because of it, well i would not complain. That's awful
  5. “Happiness is not about what the world gives you - happiness is what you think about what the world gives you." -Google Executive
  6. A method i like to use is, being selfless without anyone knowing, this way you avoid people whom try to use you.
  7. Have you tried it? Currently in a relationship so i would feel bad if i registered.
  8. Have sex out of love and skip the porn. Even being promiscuous is better than porn, but i would recommend doing neither.
  9. It's a REALLY important part, but only regarding the mentally aspect, in other word it really seductive from a primordial aspect (I.e. sexy) If you got it and take care of yourself (physically),than yes it's probably enough for most women/girls. Even i find detachment really appealing for both friend and partners, but i don't know if i like men are sexuality/romantically attracted to it. I can imaging some responses might say that "but looks also matters", yes of course they do but confidence and detachment can overpower looks to a big degree making it a really powerful addition to any men's arsenal of traits. But being desperate and insecure is really unattractive regardless what you look like.
  10. yes , unconditional love is mostly about empathy and sympathy, have sympathy (or pity) for him, for how his life must have developed to make him this way. Healthy and happy people don't treat other like this. This is a insight you can't simply read about, you must experience it yourself to truly understand, preferably by self observation. If you fully embodies unconditional love you will be unable to feel anger or hatred towards other people regardless of what atrocities they commit, forgiveness will be like breathing.
  11. While i agree with @Arkandeus , you can practice these teachings in other situations that are not crucial to your future. Bring in up with the student union, or possible some authority figure. Awful if it effects you learning negatively.
  12. Naww the universe is predetermined anyways, it's not alive and therefore got no any desire for optimization. But there is more to life than this universe, a much older thing, eternal in fact. It is perfect, infinite and even conscious.
  13. Studying is best done in up to 45 minute intervals, then a let's say 10 min break and then repeat. Studying for hours on end, will give diminishing returns. If you start to procrastinate use the 3 second rule get back on track. How long have you meditated for, and to you have a concentration practice? Monkey-mind is a fierce beast, that can take a long time to tame.
  14. Ascetic by the following definition "a person who leads an austerely simple life, especially one who abstains from the normal pleasures of life or denies himself or herself material satisfaction"- Dictionary(2017)
  15. For me gaining responsibility was a big factor in growing up, when you are still a child, you don't have to take things seriously because you'll be fine anyway. But when you're an grownup you have to, or you'll be living on the streets(metaphorically). You have to in other words be completely independent and preferably have to build everything from scratch (i.e. not be spoiled). Traveling alone might also help, preferably abroad.
  16. Consciousness exist regardless of time and space, yet contains all possible universes , timelines and objects. Yet is infinity small in regards to size. Q:You know what else has all these prosperity in science? A:"Things" that resides in the 10th dimension.
  17. @Steph1988 @Flare Guys.... Don't fight about this, there is no point, neither of you is going to change your mind anyway.
  18. I would recommend establishing friendships with girls, this way you get the see and appreciate them more for their finer qualities.
  19. yup i'm male and straight and i have a few female friends, so i guess it's possible. Some of them have boyfriends, hell one is even married and I've got a girlfriend. Might be more difficult if you're single but not impossible. I would recommenced avoiding the ones that really attract you, if you are not used to having female friends. Can get strange otherwise... @Shinawww cute dog
  20. Let's put i this way, if we ignore the physical/psychological aspects of starvation and assume that you do not have a mental illness. Going from a lawful citizen to one that steals and cheats the system to get food, will effect you negatively from a long term perceptive in regards to your happiness and ability to connect with other people. One main reason behind this is your conscience, it's very likely to cause a negative spiral, especially if you don't have to steal food to survive. Humans are not designed to be unethical, that being said it's really adaptable, so it will effect multiple areas of you brain mostly related to rewards, empathy and empowering your ego.It can also slowly promote sadist behavior, drug use, aggregation etc. I would recommend at least trying to follow laws and being kind when possible, especially if you want to have insights into consciousness and enlightenment. Have a look into karma and see how that works.
  21. I be so "extreme" as to say that i would prefer a meritocracy
  22. What do you mean by successful? spiritually? financially? fame? Regardless No, egoistically(i.e. with a strong ego) people try to achieve success, through for example stealing and lying. While selfless people don't care much for individual success but instead focus on others or collective success.
  23. No. You hurt yourself by doing that, not to mention others
