However, he ultimately didn't achieve it.

Start by recognizing there's nothing wrong with you as a being. Also, pursue life-long learning and personal development for their own sake. Your motivation should be a positive one, to become conscious and develop mastery. Do not ground yourself on a negative purpose. I mean, you can but it isn't recommended. Also: When are you going to be happy? Be happy now, and grow as a person. They are not mutually exclusive.

Knowledge creates ignorance. One can become confident and arrogant in symbolism without actually knowing what something existentially is. Consider: You Life Others Emotions We live as if we know what these actually are. Our arrogance creates a wall of false confidence. Unless deliberately pursued, openness won't emerge naturally. Once we begin to question our certainty by way of contemplation, the possibility of true knowledge -- direct consciousness -- arises. But don't start making education a bad thing. This stance doesn't justify conventional ignorance. Learning is a joy at whatever level.

One at a time. Focus on one aspect. Develop a sort of impatient patience. It will take years to see the biggest results in that area. If you want a girlfriend, build a habit consistent with that goal. Go to social places and approach as many women as possible. Get to know them. Clarify what kind of woman you want to have a relationship with. Apply these. Choose one goal, decide a habit that is consistent with that, focus exclusively on implementing it, and keep at it. No "ideal" advice nor easy answers. It's difficult and takes hard work. Start with one thing and take action consistently and continuously. That's what I came up with.

What would "conscious" marketing look like? Having an excellent product and presenting it accurately. Letting the product speak for itself as much as possible.

I don't own any Apple product. I've heard about those rumors but don't know about their legitimacy. They're a big corporation. Could be possible. But again, relative to products: their new MacBooks have received a lot of praise. Those ARM-based laptops have revolutionized the industry in terms of performance/efficiency. The M1 MacBook Air has a 9.5/10 score on The Verge. When you buy a product from a company like this, you know that it is a high-quality one. With a great product, then marketing is about creating interest so that others buy them. That was my point.

What do you mean? Existentially speaking then, moving a chair in order to sit on it is manipulation. A small subset? In which ways? Can you elaborate/clarify? The key difference seems to be that marketing involves manipulating others while pottery is about manipulating an object.

@jimwell I wouldn't call it deception and exploitation, unless they were in fact the case. Certainly one can use marketing deceptively and in order to "exploit." But again, I see it more as an euphemism for manipulation -- getting others to buy your service or product. What that entails is up for grabs. Apple, for example, offers great products using remarkable marketing strategies. Their products are generally represented honestly, too. On the other hand, some companies straight out lie or misrepresent their products or simply offer a mediocre one while selling you the cure to all your problems. So, you can manipulate in a straightforward way without necessarily "lying" by offering a great product or service, and getting others to notice it.

Marketing is basically an euphemism for manipulation. Not that that's "bad".

It could be called an online spiritual organization. I know many will immediately be wary of these kinds of organizations. And that's good and necessary. But assuming sites of this nature are cults by default is misguided. Is Eckhart Tolle a cult leader? I'd say no.

Both approaches have their own benefits and drawbacks, of course. I'm glad I received formal education up until the age of 17. However, the school system is archaic; it feels like Windows 98. As the saying goes: "democracy is the worst form of government, except for all the others." In the same way, then: "the current educational system is the worst form of mass education there is, except for all the others." I'm all in for massive transformation of it. On the other hand, introverted and independent individuals like me still conserve their innate curiosity from childhood and passion for learning. Kindling that fire is key, even more so than rote memorization. For us, self-education is and will continue to be a treasure throughout our lifetimes. Following this approach is deeply inspiring and exhilarating since you get to be in the driver's seat. I very much resonate with Robinson's message and teaching style. School kills initiative and creativity for the most part but also gives a mediocre educational foundation for society, which is better than none.
