The right in America somehow has just been so good at controlling the narratives. Dems are always playing defence, the dynamic has to shift so I guess he’s playing a small part there. The right in Australia recently got fucking historically trounced at the election, partly due to our distaste of American style right wing culture wars. Perhaps. The Soviet Union lasted a good 70 years though. They do seem to be killing it in renewable energy and AI though which is interesting.

Not that I disagree with a lot of America’s stupid preoccupations with rugged individualism etc, however this China romanticisation reminds me how a lot of the western intelligentsia fell for communism and had a soft spot for the Soviet Union.

How do you account for the fact that Green has been around since the 1960s with The Beatles etc that has infiltrated so much culture but never really took over the masses? Perhaps America needs a national divorce, it just seems unsustainable where you have a good ~30% of the population that basically wants a third world style autocrat in Trump, yet the coastal city folk are so much further evolved than that.
