  1. @Bizarre I will surely check it out. Thank you! I think I might have a ground breaking perspective on these very dynamics of subjective vs objective in my new post here about the mystery of awareness i would love for you to comment and share your truly insightful view.
  2. @Svartsaft 's direct school I love it!
  3. @Bizarre If you would allow me to be frank, I see your point of view and in a sense it's right, except the fact that you are looking at it from one perspective. The enlightened subjective one. Also don't generalize the world by saying an enlightened is this and this only. We are all with diffrent dreams and purposes.
  4. @Reality It really looks like your answer is that there is no answer. There is also that trap.
  5. Hi all, long time no see I wanted to ask you if you counted your breaths during meditation or had ever tried to. I've heard once that zen monks count at first when starting. And also there are these rosaries that budists have that help you count without numbers by going through beads with your finger for each inhale-exhale. Ive noticed an increased periods of "no-thought" and very powerful results myself in the last couple of months. But still had some doubt whether I'm creating a crutch or not. Also in walking meditation the counting makes it extremely powerful. So tell me what you've heard about it from teachers and more interestingly from your own experience. Thank you for reading ; )
  6. @Alex4 I'm combining them by doing focus work for a couple of minutes to really get nice solid ground and then just sit and enjoy the show.
  7. Hey all, long time no see, I've missed you all a lot Let me tell you about a technique I've recently developed, I want to give credit to Leo and and Alan Watts that inspired me a lot over the years. So I call it the Buddha meditation and I practice it like that: First realize that meditation is not something you DO, it's a state of simple being as described in many techniques. My method isn't any different, I would say it's more of a pre-contemplation that reminds you to be open and relieves the expectations. The second step is a little contemplation that goes like that: "Could it possibly be that I'm already a buddha?" "If I were a buddha would I try to get any where? Would I try to realize something or to gain more knowledge? I guess not. I would simply sit here because that's simply how a buddha sits and enjoy observing all that is in my awareness. Enjoying my bliss" Now try to connect with your experience and from time to time you may guide yourself back to this image of simply being a sitting buddha and just be. So basically once grounded you just sit. I hope you will enjoy it like I did and stay on your path. Good luck
  8. @Arik @cetus56 Hey guys help me with this additional list: What a buddha wouldn't try to do: 1. Achieve any kind of alternative state of consciousness. 2. Get any more answers to questions 3.Try not to manipulate or calm himself 3. Seek the truth 4. Try to become enlightened 5. Try to stop thinking 6. Getting rid of self 7. Try to become one with everything 8. Try to blissful 9. Try to stop suffering 10. Try to find new goals to pursue 11. Try to throw concepts 12. Realize some hidden facts
  9. Be extra aware when you have this very thought. And feel the emotions with it. Being aware the feeling will dissolve and the compulsive thoughts will disappear eventually. Patient Awareness I call it. Watch Leo's video on patience and ask youself if you honor this value. Practice accepting the one sitting there frustrated of waiting and expecting. Ask yourself if you are grateful enough right now in this very moment. And why is that you are waiting for a goody and fail to live now.
  10. @cetus56 I've enjoyed the video very much and I literally felt shivers when he told about the tale with the father and the child. It's amazing to witness such calmness and spontaneity. He really goes deep into explaining and showing us the many traps of attachment. By the way did you try the meditation? @Arik I'm always so pleased to receive your posts. And I like very much the way you describe your method. I've tried it and i'll keep trying to try and connect more with it. Never heard of Moiji, would you recommend your favorite talk? By the way how long have you been practicing meditation overall?
  11. What happens to the higher and lower self once you are enlightened? Do they remain seperate?
  12. As Alan Watts beautifully put it: "If i can pick pocket you abd sell you your own watch, then you probably deserve it"
  13. I see a guy that flirts with my girl on facebook and I'm clueless on what to do. If didn't say anything i would be inauthentic, and if i did i would come out as jealous. So what is happening?
  14. @Donald That I'm jealous. Isn't it good to talk about how I feel with her? My fear is that keeping it inside is not being true to myself.
  15. We all know the good old saying that "happiness comes from within" But doesn't it suggests that the so called inner world and outer world are seperate? So how does one find happiness in this illusory seperation?
  16. @Khin @Andre But we always read that the self is an illusion and there's no you SEPERATE from the outer world, which means you are also the outer world. Thus "within" supposedly can be anywhere. My theory is that while the outer and the inner are inseparable you are simply unsynchronized with your true nature, and that seperation is exactly what keeps you from being happy. So the the happiness is the connection. You trying to change the outer circumstances is failing cause they don't need to change. So the "outer world" is you! and is within! it only takes you to get out of the way and realize it.
  17. @Saarah I think that once you start self inquiry you will see the holes and limits in rationality. It's impossible to grasp it until experienced directly. Good luck
  18. @Arik Very insightful I've had a thought since i posted here that actually counting is controling. And when i try not to count i actually feel the need to regain control.
  19. Is wanting to hear your s.o say that he or she needs you healthy? We say that neediness isn't good for us, but what if we hear from our beloved that he doesn't need us?
  20. @Saarah Thank you so much for these insightful words. I guess after being needy for so long, it's hard to see how can things come to you without needing them.
  21. She does give something, the feeling of being needed by someone, of being important. @reez
  22. I suppose that the fact that ego itself is illusory, doesn't mean that there are no feelings, in fact they are felt stronger after the release. It's the ego that wants to act stoic and say nothing hurts it, but in reality we are very sensitive and vulnerable.
  23. of course not : ) but in terms of reality what separates him from the bird?
  24. @Mary The daydreaming part is your mind speaking out all the info that is echoing inside. Imagine a cave, you shout inside, isn't it inevitable that you will hear an echo? It's as out of control as a thought coming to you while doing nothing. Actually it is the cleansing that will eventually let you quiet down and be aware finally. Imagine your mind is a patient, and you are it's therapist. Let it speak and don't say "I shouldn't think, im meditating." because this is actually the part that is most effective in releasing the drama. Good luck on your journey : )
