  1. @MattP Most people that has success in a field put in the work. It's easy to say it's because of talent and the ones without talent are doomed to suffer. That comes from a place of wanting to give up usually. So please share your hardships. What are you struggling with?
  2. I wonder how many times I've thought the exact same thing.. and there were always more to see. It's almost like its infinite.
  3. It doesn't make sense once the barriers of separation dissolves then it's clear that consciousness is nothing and everything. We are indoctrinated with the illusion of a physical world made out of matter from such a young age though that I still have a hard time to make sense of it (though I haven't really tried to answer these types of questions since the realization). My first response to the question if the tree makes any sound was: No sound is made because there isn't an ear there to interpret the waves as sound. That's from the old paradigm. It assumes that there is an objective world and that the tree falls. I just realized there is much work needed to integrate and shift to a new paradigm.
  4. Yes, that's it isn't it. And what about all our habits, we do them daily. We don't make a conscious decision when we put the first leg into our pants or which teeth we brush first. They are all unconscious habits. The unconscious control more than we like to admit. Do you mean that the universe is a thought? Is the conscious mind part of the unconscious? I would say that that they are separate parts. There's that which is conscious and that which is unconscious. We can become conscious of certain unconscious behavior by mindfulness practices for example.
  5. @VeganAwake You beat me to it. Well put. @Jahmaine Does laziness exist if you remove "good" and "bad" from activities?
  6. @Javfly33 starting to see that the stories are just that is good. Some stories feel more real then others though. This is also a story. What is this I that the stories revolves around. Have you looked for it?
  7. The mind is programmed to think in a certain way. It's programmed from the day you were born or maybe even earlier. If you believe these unhappy thoughts then that leads to unhappiness. What you can do is break the identification with the thoughts by becoming aware of them. As soon as you notice them being only thoughts then they start to lose there power over you.
  8. @Javfly33 if you integrate spirituality into every moment in your life that's when the magic starts happening. <3 We can theorize that certain outcomes might happen but unless you try them out you will never know. That's the best way, try it out and see if you like the results. If not you xan always go back to your old ways.
  9. That's a nice realization to have but not the whole picture is it. It's an important step that you have to go through but not a full realization. The importance of not clinging to a specific teaching. It's like a treasure map that takes you to the treasure. Once you found the treasure, toss the map and take the treasure with you. Don't stay at the treasure chest until you die. There's another treasure somewhere waiting to be discovered and you can't find it with the same map.
  10. Yeah and even when they do know most will not do it. Few are willing to let go of themselves that much. I believe that is the most important thing aswell. Curiosity, openmindedness and motivation. It even feels like something deeper than motivation because if it's a goal in a future it's going to be hard to achieve. A love for truth perhaps. It's a little bit like playing an instrument. If you practice scales just to become a good instrumentalist in the future it's gonna be hard work. But if you enjoy the playing the scales and play just because you love playing it's going to be effortless. No matter if you had a goal of becoming good or not it will be achieved.
  11. Yes contemplation can be a great tool to have in this work. So the sensitivity to psychadelics is an important aspect to having mystical experiences, but what about the realization of the true self, that is prior to these experiences?
  12. @Bryanbrax What do you want to do?
  13. Yes, this is the path within yourself, you'll find all answers there. Welcome.
  14. That would explain there interest in spirtuality also. Having these experiences does makes one question the reality of reality and spark a curiosity for what the fabric of reality is. What would be interesting to know is how much easier it was for them to awaken vs someone who didn't have these experiences in their youth.
  15. Because your human. It is the human condition to take ownership of everything. But you could stop doing that. Inquire into what it is that takes ownership. Can you find it?
  16. @Inliytened1 @Leo Gura How did you come to the conclusion that most masters are spiritually gifted? It seems like a hard thing to investigate scientifically. @Forrest Adkins nice topic forrest. Really stirring the waters with dynamite here. As I don't have any experience with psychadelics (not counting cannabis) or any formal training in meditation. I don't have any opinion in this matter. I do like what adyashantis teacher used to say. "Only the phonies don't get enlightened" If you want truth and are not in it just to be spiritual. Investigating truth with an open mind. And make that your number one priority you'll get enlightened. (My belief of course)
  17. @Dragonfly210 I can relate on many levels. I started to see a therapist to deal with stuff from childhood and teen years that had slowly grown into a depression. It really brought everything to the surface and made things feel much worse in the beginning but was well worth it in the end. I've always felt socially awkward but an awakening can make these tendencies amplify. Your used to relate to people in a certain way and when you can't do that anymore how do you talk to people? Well you can. You find new ways to relate so it's just a temporary thing. Let it take it's time and you'll be comfortable in social situations again. About the feeling lost part. It might come from the not knowing how to relate to the world since you don't know who you are anymore. You're shedding your old skin and the new skin can take a while grow, you can feel sensitive. Like there's no wall between you and the world. Emotions can come out like your not used to, for me there was alot of anger but it might be sadness or anything else. Let yourself feel lost. This can be quite challenging and you might feel the need to align yourself to the world again only to see the falseness in it again and again. Let yourself fall into the unknown. <3
  18. @emind instead of trying to get rid of the fear and anxiety, trying to be more grounded, what happens if you accept this kind of energy?
  19. @Harikrishnan You are god and ego is a part of god, a part of you. So no matter if it was gods or egos will it was your will.
  20. @Nak Khid You don't have to if you don't want to. That's the beauty of it all. You're free to do anything you want. But the enjoyment I get from drinking cold glass of water when I'm thirsty, yeah I'm gonna keep drinking it.
  21. You are the aliveness itself. You don't have to do anything but to BE that.
  22. @Spiral Wizard What's beauty without the ugly?
