But very few have actually destroyed the entire universe/objective knowledge and established themselves completely in the abiding nondual awareness. Most such cases are unknown or not famous at all. Careful not to regard the talks as the real deal. As a wise man once said "talking about non duality is the easiest thing in the world"

He seems enthusiastic. But I wish he drank his own medicine and applied skepticism on fairy tales of atoms, molecules, science, objective knowledge. But alas! His faux skepticism can only go so far to shoot down only the comical notions of an old man in the sky and an airy spirit in a fleshdoll. "We have figured out the basic reality" nothing could be more deluded than this. Its like saying I know who I am. I got my job, partners, kids, hobbies, my certain fetishes and fears and thus I know myself perfectly and in next 50 years that wont change at all. What a bad joke ?

This is so thought provoking. But this carnage only gets us when things are taken personally. I remember an example given in a Tolle book. A baby gold fish gets born and eaten within 3 minutes by a bigger fish in an aquarium. This event is simply one of the innumerable course of events that go on in that aquarium. But it becomes a sad problem if we named that baby goldfish John, printed a birth certificate for it, put around more abstraction and back story about it and then within 3 minutes John gets eaten. Now it is perceived as a tragedy. It very much shows that our thoughts, abstractions and emotional investments create the meaning of creation.

There is no such thing as ______

There is no gradation in experience. It seems to start, it seems to end; and when its gone, its as if it never happened. This is true for any or all experience, whether its eating ice cream or near death experience. You might've had 100 near death experience in 100 past lives but that doesn't change what you are now, cause no experience can ever tarnish what you are. I don't find near death experiences as something spiritual or woo woo as they are usually interpreted. If anything, NDEs thoroughly throws the naive, dumb notion of a material universe out of the window and hints towards a dreamstate universe. And in a dreamstate universe nothing is too wackey as it spreads into insubstantial infinity.

When will you see that form is nothing? It is literally nothing, insubstantial. Can you prove that you were born, so and so happened to you in this life? That memory of yours is an abstraction. Its as if none of the past ever happened. There is no trace that anything ever happened, except for a thought imagining such things happened. And yet you are now, simply here. There is some truth in that. But there is no substantial truth in any other time or place. When will you see that all content including past lives are all bogus insubstantial bullshit? Why would god bother about such nonexistent joke? This is the fail proof safety net of god. God swims through all sort of bullshit in all times and space but none of that is ever substantial enough to trap god. Because all content is nothing, once it happens its as if never happened at all. Gone baby gone. The fact that you existing eternally doesn't need to be verified through the Bullshits of the past lives, that realization is right now in your consciousness of being. How can all that nonexistent past life bullshit prove the only substance of reality, YOU?

It is nothing but a dream. The superficial differences are in degrees, not in phenomenology/structure/mechanism. Sort of like the difference between a vintage film from 1940s and Avengers end game with 1000000x CGI. Both are movies nontheless

You don't have to do a lot of medition. Get a taste now. Be still and genuinely ponder what 'I' really is. What does it imply? Where does attention go when you ponder about I? What does this tell about I?

@DefinitelyNotARobot Yes you are right. Trusting direct experience at its face value is a sham. Our direct experience reports most times that the earth is flat, sky is blue, we live in a body, there is a hard physical world outside us etc all of which are hoax. Thus you cannot trust direct experience. Or more accurately, you cannot trust the particular labels and limits of your direct experience. Through the ego-mind-sense distorted lens, you are bound to see a distorted view of Reality. You need not trust on that second hand distorted knowledge. But what you can do trust, is the substance of all direct experience which is Consciousness. The first hand knowledge of being aware.

I AM is always gonna be there. You can't get rid of the I thought. Currently you take yourself as the I thought and thus you ARE and feel yourself as the I thought. That I thought cannot get rid of itself. Instead, ignore all conceptions and perceptions and try to firmly focus on the I. Hold that one I thought while letting go of all else, thoughts about getting it vs not getting it, easy vs hard, progress vs demotion etc. Its not really that the I thought gets eliminated. Rather, in the laser like concentration on the I, a certain misconception and ignorance about the I burns away once and for all and the I is realized as what it really is, what it always has been.
