  1. I am interested in radical honesty and the results it has on the inner self. Leo posted a video about the ways we lie. Is it possible to be 100% honest? Social convention has us believing that lying is actually condusive to our well being. We lie to guard our ego against emotional stress. Radical honesty is counterintuitive. It is emotionally difficult and could end relationships. It will result in more meaningful relationships long term. It takes the pressure off of the illusion that it is always necessary to "measure up" and alows you to truely be exactly who you are. But is it really possible? I have met people who claim to be radically honest. They were just as shallow and misguided as the rest of us. It almost seemed that they were putting on a show saying, "look how honest I am!" Is it possible to be radically honest without being a dick about it?
  2. Is enlightenment equal to compassion? Or does it simply promote it? Remember there are masculine and feminine forms of compassion, but they both intend to remove suffering... Enlightenment seams to be a personal journey at first but then as one gets closer to enlightenment, they tend to relate with everything and everyone on a profound level. They become one with the universe and are more compassionate and understaning towards everything.
  3. Last week- you are the devil This week- now that you're the devil, here's how to raise kids
  4. Because "BAM! Humans!" is less intriging than, "a bajillion years ago a tadpole crawled out of a puddle and grew legs." For all we know it could have been Bam! Humans! Science is constantly proving itself wrong
  5. I must confess, I only watched the first 3 minutes. This seems to be the old Creationist vs. Evolution debate. If the Creator created everything, then He (or She, It or They) must have also created the idea of Evolution. If He did in fact create the idea of Evolution, we are misunderstanding the purpose of the idea. The two ideas (Creationism and evolution) can coexist. The Creator explains why everthing exists (because He created it.) Evolution explains how He created it. Why not both?
  6. Wow. Cocaine is a hell of a drug
  7. @Leo Gura if you wait to add the olive oil right before you eat it you can save some of the benefits of the healthy olive oil. Olive oil loses almost all of its nutritional value after being heated to a certain point.
  8. @SOUL ha! I see what you did there lol Well @The Universe do you have a conscious rebuttal?
  9. I like quinoa, bell pepper and salmon with turmeric. Cook the quinoa and the salmon with turmeric. Squish it all together in a blanched bell pepper. Yum!
  10. So do them anyway. Even for 5 minutes. Then try 7, then 10 and so on. Motivation is like a muscle that needs to be built up. It doesn't just happen.
  11. Curious. Where are you going with this @Shin
  12. Kind of. In my dream, I died, and was overcome with this overwhelming sense of peace. No fear whatsoever. I remember saying, "Finally!" I woke up very refreshed.
  13. I recently read about a lady who went 60 years without smiling or laughing to avoid face wrinkles Some people just have RBF
  14. Is it truly possible to extinguish all desire? Im not talking about the obvious desires like money, power, sex etc. But when I'm thirsty, I desire water. That is a basic need that we all require. How do I not desire it?
  15. Wow, so the idea is to not drop them at all, just let them flow to you as you float happily along the course of life? I love it!! Thank you! This is exactly the response i was looking for!
  16. How do you know you are actually doing wrong? Is it your intuition? Trust it, learn and grow. You don't have to be everything. Just be.

  18. Marus Aralius hired a servant to follow him around and randomly wisper in his ear, "You are mortal" so that he would not think he was better than anyone else. THAT. That is how marriage works. It is a promise you make to a partner that will hold you accountable. That's how you make it work. Find a partner.
  19. Rest is equally important to gain muscle mass if that is your goal. If you are eating right, exercising right and still not gaining, it's probably because you are not resting right. Stop all electronic use 2 hours before bed. No caffeine or exercise 2 hours before bed. Reduce or remove if you can all sources of light or sound from your room at night. Also try tea for sleep. I use SleepyTime tea made by celestial seasonings. Go to bed, and wake up at the same time each day
  20. Sounds good, but remember, 60% of all marriages end in divorce ?
  21. In Leo's recent video, he talks about breaking out of the paradigm of language. How the fuck is this possible without ceasing all forms of communication? If you decide to stop talking or writing, you still have nonverbal communication to get your point across. If you stop that... what else do you have? Help, my brain just imploded! My wife did not talk until she was 6 years old. They thought something was wrong with her. It turns out that her sister knew her so well that she was able to do all of the talking for her, so she didn't need to speak. Maybe its something like this?
  22. But there's no such thing as "no such thing"!
  23. Advise is neither good or bad. It is the role of the seeker to establish the value. Most of the time, no one intentionally gives bad advise, as you said. If they are giving advise, it is because they believe it to be good. Every person is ignorant to some degree. The ego drives people to give an answer on a topic where they are actually ignorant. Unfortunately, this is all too easy, and some people believe that they are the world's top authority on any given subject. You've met them I'm sure. They are the ones who are quick to respond without much thought, and quick to deminish any argument to that response. Be wary of these people. On the other side of the coin, there is a phenomenon with advise where people will take the very first response they recieve as golden and flawless. I'm not sure why this happens, but it is a pitfall that applies to both the seeker and the responder. For some, "I don't know," are the hardest words to say. Today's society puts pressure on people to respond, and be accurate, especially with Google at our fingertips. The only solution I can offer is this: "Do not be offended by the ignorant, because they don't know that they are ignorant." -Marcus Aurelius. This quote has served me well and is my all time favorite.
  24. Ego is a muscle you use to avoid fear and get what you desire. Higher self is the part that realizes there is nothing to fear, and nothing to desire... it already is! Reality unfolds exactly as it should. Ego "helps" us to "cope" with reality. Higher self explains that there is nothing to "cope"
