  1. We are all spiritual beings. It's who we are. Knowledge of this is not necessary to be spirit. They love spirituality with everything they are made of, they just don't conceptually recognize it yet. Someone who identifies as being spiritual conceptually is off putting simply because it can't be done. Spirituality is the knowing of who you are prior to the concept of who you are. So if you conceive of yourself as spiritual, it misses the whole magic of being what is prior to conception. So the girls where you live don't like spirituality. AWESOME! SCORE! They teach you how spiritual you are NOT and you teach them how spiritual they are. Couldn't have planned it better.
  2. Oprah was not "given" power. Then her influence made Obama and Eckhart Tolle well known. Empowered women empower men AND women, which empowers more women and men, which... ya know? No one has to lose out. No one is "ravaged" or made less than by the success of another.
  3. Discern being spiritual from thoughts about being spiritual. Discern expectations about or from a partner, from mutual love and appreciation which doesn't have a time line. Don't shoot yourself in the foot.
  4. When you were a fetus, and later a baby you didn't think about your survival. What you do now is actually a hinderance to it, not a help to it. No amount of worry got the Earth to be just the right distance from the sun. There are two ways of thinking, one is focus on lack. "I do not have enough money to eat healthy food." The second is focus on wellbeing. "Oatmeal is so healthy, costs so little, and I feel great when I eat it." Worry blocks creative ideas from coming. Creative ideas bring money and solutions. Unexpectedly. Surprisingly. On their own timeline, not a forced one. Worry creates stress and illness in the body, which is against, not FOR survival. So the question arises? WHAT exactly is surviving? What is being served when I think thoughts that make me feel stressed or lacking? The thoughts are. Not you. The THOUGHTS. The thoughts. They are like a tapeworm in your stomach and you're working your ass off double time to feed it, thinking it's you. It's not you. The thoughts survive and thrive, not you. Find thoughts around money and time that feel better. Journal. Express the ones that don't, in words, in front of your eyes, with the knowledge that they ARE THE TAPEWORM. Not you. They are not true. Barf up the tapeworm. Then use thoughts to finally nourish the REAL YOU.
  5. Who decides where logic ends and suddenly becomes illogical? The belief that one is that "who" is illogical and yet also conceives of the idea of logic itself. Spirituality is not mistaking the knower for the known, but being the knowing itself, ever here and now.
  6. Have you noticed how educated women seem to have a rougher transition to motherhood? Then women who are less intellectually inclined seem to ADORE the whole process and have so many kids they can't pay for them all? How is that possible? It's because... thought attachment. Mediation, dropping the thoughts of future, dropping the idea of his suffering and you being solely responsible for it and just sinking into the love and being are the way. I had a hellish time with my first, later on read The Power of Now and started practicing that and let go of some of the expectations I had for myself. With my second child I was so connected that the smell of her head and look at her face gave me such an elated high. She responded to my chill and was also chill. Babies feel our moods, the sense our vibrations. They don't sense how well read Mom is on vitamin D drops with no preservatives. They just love, and respond to love and basic care. You put your oxygen mask on first. You watch your mood first. You don't let his mood define and control your mood. You set the tone for him. No, you don't need a whole spa day, you can do it all on the fly. It really is all in dropping the thoughts that feel terrible to think. Don't wish the time away. You're on one heck of a meditation retreat right now. The scale of it puts all the monks brave adventures alone in a cave to shame. You got this. Great joy, love and connection are the prize at the end of this long hard road, and that's only because they are here, even right now. You got this. You already got this. Look in his eyes a little more. Take in the magic. Look at the impossibly tiny feet, smell his head. How is it possible? This miracle, how? You made that? Don't worry so much about him. The body is intelligence beyond anything we realize, but we interfere by over concern of it going wrong. Doing it wrong. You're not wrong. You're utter perfection, and so is he.
  7. If a thought that you have around money or time feels bad to think, drop it. Don't believe what it says. Appreciate things that aren't yours. Appreciate things that are yours. Appreciate the sky. Appreciate all day long. Appreciation appreciates in value. I didn't mean at the same time. if an idea comes to you and it feels good, uplifting, inspiring, fun, etc, follow it. If you are bored or feel like something is missing, don't look for something to distract yourself, sit with it. It doesn't have to be formal mediation, just sit and feel it instead of avoiding it. Then you become the open space for real inspiration to hit. Don't settle for less. That's the heart of your question and desire, you know inherently that you shouldn't settle. However the "good" you know you are worthy of isn't inherent in the thing, circumstance or activity, you are the good and when you connect with you, and appreciate in full acceptance of yourself all else follows. ❤
  8. I recently spent under 100$ on something frivolous and it inspired an idea that made me hundreds back. Don't be stingy with your time or money, if you're enjoying something, or drawn to it, why ruin it? You don't know exactly what will come of anything you do. As best you can, follow inspiration and sit with boredom or lack.
  9. Faith- "I don't know what the F is going on, but I know it's gonna be Good." Peace that passes understanding, what you might call dumb luck, God works in mysterious ways, all that. ??
  10. The more I think something is a problem the more it becomes one. The only way to push against or avoid something is to think it. This is not something that will be solved through doing, as doing is the thought that I am doing something about a problem which creates a whole lot of thinking about the problem. Leo's suggestions above are great but they are not actually a doing. If you do them not with a curious, open mind but because you NEED to get some result, it will not work. It's interesting that you say it must be a forbidden topic and you start by asking us not to be shocked. It's almost as if you're so unwilling to feel shame you're rebelling against it. You're beating it to the punch. That won't work. There's actually nothing uniquely wrong about you whatsoever. You realize that most people actually self harm by thinking self deprecating thoughts and believing them all day? Excess tongue and lip biting compared with that, sounds much more sane in my opinion. Sounds like terrible advice but what if you fully accept that you do this? The thought that "I am wrong or messed up" is not the direct feeling of shame. In meditation, in surrender to what is, what we thought was the case dissolves. Sometimes we avoid feeling a bad feeling with another bad feeling but one that we choose and resist less, so we feel some control. But the underlying root feeling remains. It's possible there are shameful, self deprecating thoughts that meditation would help you see are not about you, and not true, The tongue biting is beating it to the punch so to speak. It connects you with sensation, which soothes. However it's still against yourself as you know. Meditation of whatever sort you choose is fulfilling the need to connect with sensation and feeling in a healthy way and seeing through the idea that you could possibly think against yourself. Also something you might want to look into if you haven't is myofascial release massage. There's also an acupuncture pressure point on the outside of your hand, pretty sure it's called the Zhong Zu point, that release neck tension, as well as others. https://www.precisionpaincarerehab.com/blog/use-acupressure-to-relieve-neck-pain-19308.html
  11. It's one of the ten commandments, God said not to make or worship an idols. An idol, image, deity, or whatever else can be a chosen focal point for meditation, in this way it is not put "before" the awareness of it, it merges into it is created of it. However, if it is made into an ideal (I-deal) that is a projection of the separate self, and is put BEFORE "God" (ie Source, Awareness) it actually demeans the "god" it claims to worship. "I am the way, the light and the truth"- Jesus. Jesus was not saying the thought of Jesus, or image of Jesus, or the imagined memory of Jesus is the Light, the Way and the Truth, he is saying the Light that is "you" that is now, only now, aware of the word Jesus on the screen IS the WAY, the Light and the Truth. I AM. Not "I am". Me, Jesus, the thought of Jesus. No. Christians idolize the thought of Jesus, so they actually forget "the Light" and even forget the thought "Jesus" most of the time. It's worse than buying a dashboard Jesus and revering it for how ridiculous and demeaning it is. People have all kinda of spiritual concepts and imagery. I dolls. They are just for play. They are not the Play itself.
  12. So go have some ice cream today, Merry Christmas.
  13. "Shrooms are silly like green toes and toejam and farts. And it'll step on your silly plans with its dirty green feet." That's the best thing I've ever read. Love how you journal through these. Thanks for sharing.
  14. Ah, well was it a question or an answer? I mean, I don't even know.
  15. Yeah, I'm a total pane, but at least I'm transparent about it.
  16. I dunno, I hate to be a downer cause it's gorgeous and all but if there isn't any glass in there, they're gonna come home to find a bear in their kitchen someday soon.
  17. What is a thought? Is a thought a nothing or a something?
  18. This is a fairytale beyond your wildest dreams, you think you're a character in it but you're really the author. Relaxation of the mind gives you a peek into this. Fairytales themselves can act like psychedelics. Creativity, fun and inspiration draws out a lot of unintentional wisdom that could be easily overlooked because it's not presented as such. Creativity is a focus yet also a relaxation of the mind that knows true from false but instead is totally lead by inspiration. The flow state the authors enter can be also tapped into by the reader. The reader may long after the world that they read about, wishing that they lived in enchantment, but they already do. Words on a page have the power to elicit such feeling and immersive imagination? Naw....
