  1. @Gili Trawangan How long did it take for them to subside? I’ve been trying to find a silver lining with this, but I just can’t. When I ask myself “What’s the lesson here?”, I just get ‘blank’. My SIBO came out of nowhere, maybe if I knew the root cause I’d have an answer. Not recently. My depression & anhedonia came from SIBO, which I’ve had for a year. I wasn’t depressed before I got SIBO. I already had a degree of emotional numbness before the SSRI, maybe it made it worse? I don’t know. My anhedonia seems to be progressively getting worse as the months pass by. If it got worse from the SSRI should I stop them or just push through? How can I know if I have DP/DR? Your username sounds so easy-going. I want to be @happyhappy
  2. @Knowledge Hoarder In what ways is reading directly linked to your LP? Does it give you ideas and perspectives to integrate into your own writing?
  3. @Loba How long have you been taking them for altogether?
  4. @Leo Gura Coming back to this thread to ask, how can Rifaximin cause more harm than good? After a few rounds, I didn’t really feel much different, but I am feeling a lot less like myself. Feels like anhedonia or something of a similar sort. I also feel worse across the board on everything related to cognitive performance, which is really depressing since that’s what the things I’m (or was) passionate about rely on. It feels like I have brain damage or I lost IQ points. I don’t know if it was caused by Rifaximin though. I’ve had SIBO for about a year so it might just be the deterioration caused by that too. I don’t really know.
  5. I'm currently taking three 550mg tablets (1650mg) of Rifaximin a day. But I have a feeling it won't kill off my SIBO fully as I have combined hydrogen/methane SIBO, not just hydrogen. Should I take Allicin with my current course of Rifaximin since I also have high methane levels? Allicin would be convenient for me since I already have it. But if not Allicin, then what about using Metronizadole or Neomycin in tandem with Rifaximin?
  6. @undeather Thanks. @happyhappy I really don't want to use it for that long. Thanks for the information. @Loba How did you gain weight from the medication? Did the medication itself cause you weight gain? Or did it increase your appetite which consequently lead to weight gain? I used to be an avid gym-goer and enjoyed it. Now I have so little energy that I can't push myself anymore after 20 minutes, sometimes even just one set of an exercise. It's really bad. Because of this I've resorted to just walking daily. It sucks since I've lost all the progress I made when I did go to the gym.
  7. @Spence94 Eating food is an illusion, yet you still get hungry. You said it yourself, it’s all an illusion. So if it’s all an illusion, including your survival and emotions, you have the freedom to create your own meaning. Meaning is subjective and relative to every individual. It’s a construction, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be enjoyed, and it doesn’t mean it can’t be something you’re willing to die for. Perhaps some artist would be willing to die to have all their creative ideas brought to fruition in the world, so that it greatly inspires others. That could be the most meaningful thing to that artist, maybe not to us, but what matters is whether that feels meaningful to them. One thing that feels meaningful to one person can seem meaningless to another person.
  8. @Phil King I’ve tried to attack this issue from every cylinder I could. The main cause of this is my SIBO, which I’ve had for about a year now. It’s only after a year that I’ve considered talking about this issue to my doctor, and he prescribed me Escitalopram which I had never previously heard of. @catcat69123 Which one did you take and for how long?
  9. @undeather What is the half life of them once I taper off? As in, how long do they stay in my system once I am no longer taking them? @happyhappy That seems to make sense. So SSRI’s can be a temporary tool to get oneself out of a rut? Once I feel like I’m back on my feet, I start tapering off, right?
  10. @UDT What are nano aluminium particles? I’ve already been on 5mg for a week, and I have to continue taking it as per doctor’s recommendation. Is it reversible?
  11. @puporing Which did you take and for how long? @undeather By what time are results seen? And how long does it take to stop? I have to taper right? Though I don’t know if I should stop yet. @Medhansh Thanks for your input.
  12. Having a why, cause, or purpose, meaningful enough that you would be willing to die for it to be brought to fruition at scale.
  13. I think it is important to be frugal with our time and be mindful of how we spend it. We never get it back once it's spent. I like to think of it as having $1440 to spend every day, but we don't get to use that money again once the day is over. There are 1440 minutes in a day, how would you spend each minute if each minute was worth $1? In what ways are you frugal with your time?
  14. @LastThursday Do you have goals and/or a vision for your life? @gettoefl How do you push it back an hour and still be able to fall asleep? I don't feel sleepy enough an hour before I normally sleep. The only way I can reset my sleep schedule is to stay up all night and then sleep earlier the next day, but even that doesn't always work. I end up waking up 2-4 hours into my sleep at which point I'm back at square one.
  15. @gettoefl How long did it take you to make it second nature? I want to do it too but I feel so tired when I wake up. Do you feel rejuvenated when you wake up or do you feel tired?
  16. @gettoeflHow long does it take you to fall asleep? It's extremely difficult for me to fall asleep that early. @lxlichael Can you elaborate on what you mean a bit more? This sounds interesting but I don't quite understand with the way your writing was structured. @LastThursday How do you spend your time? @Ludwigvan Agreed. What do you think are the key habits to put in place in one's life?
  17. @ValiantSalvatore What’s the difference between a vision board and a dream board?
  18. Interesting perspective. I do wonder how people my age with terrible diets are 10x healthier than I am. Maybe this is just a battle I have in my video game (life) and others have other battles.
  19. @Leo Gura Your voice has changed a lot over the years since you started YouTube. I'm sure the upgrade in microphone played some role but probably not the sole reason. How did you change your voice like that? It's inspiring to see you sound progressively more confident over time.
  20. @Kksd74628 There is nothing that I need to do. Only things that I want to do. Right?
  21. While these are exorbitant prices, I speculate that there might be some value in doing retreats with other people. Maybe it could help you network with others and gain connections. Or is it only people that you personally know and choose? Like booking a motel room? Once I become a multi-millionaire I hope that I won't need to be worried about the price of self-investments like retreats, workshops, etc.
  22. Like you said, the desire to escape desire is itself a desire. Why do you want to escape desire to begin with? To escape suffering? If it is to escape suffering, realise that wanting to escape suffering is negative motivation, i.e. motivation to avoid pain. Negative motivation is not going to be sufficient to do consciousness work. If you don’t mind me asking, why the caps? I read this in a voice that was yelling their lungs out to have a simple conversation with their hearing-loss suffering grandma.
