  1. Well... I am still baffled (slightly) that making a deep decision about going to massage could be so effective and change my life so much. but here I am, 9 months in having finished term three. I am more excited about life then ever before, working full time, investing 5-10 hours a week into my personal brand and have only 8-10 months before my career transition is complete!
  2. It can be like seeing something that has always been there, just not in the way we thought. I think that accessing authentic desire is a balance between introspection, doing nothing, gaining experience by trying new things and ultimately arriving at what you do and dont like. you can try writing a list of things you for sure do not want or desire. For example... I dont not want to weight 300 pounds I do not want to be stuck in wage slavery I do not want to be lost in dogma and ideology Etc.. This can decrease the pool of things you do want, making it easier to pick a direction to go. Then, through more introspection, create a list of things you want to try. Get a job in a field that interests you (barista, cook, server, receptionist, salesperson) go live alone Go out in nature listen to 20 different genres of music and find which ones I love create something (draw, go to a piano shop and try a piano or two, write a short story travel to see new biomes or places to experience move to your favorite one Etc... Through this and similar things, some things will be obvious, some less obvious, and eventually you'll recognize what you authentically want or dont want. After and during these experiences, you will notice growth and also more material to process as you introspect and question your values and authentic desires. In my own life it has been unfolding like this leading to the current level of clarity about what I want. Dropped out of college because It was definitely inauthentic Lived in a new climate G0t a job to earned money (learned I hate working at Applebee's) Tried psychedelics (realized I want to grow and have a life purpose.) Bought Leo's Life purpose course (first of 7 iterations of my values.) Moved to new city and lived alone Got involved in an MLM Chose authenticity, music, creativity, and freedom over the MLM Change careers to being a barista Go on a solo retreat (leading to deeper life purpose clarity and decisions about what I Want) Started producing music Worked part time, produced music and releasing music, started dating, get a better idea of who I Want to date. Took another solo retreat while isolating from Covid (chose to get another job and break up with my girlfriend realizing it was inauthentic.) worked two jobs, traded both for a gym job that I ended up quitting in three weeks because it went against my values (5th iteration, pretty authentic) Moved to PA to be a camp counselor (learned how much I value solitude, freedom and music creation.) Got a job at a different kitchen started releasing music and content on insta Quit all media, went through a dark period emotionally and certain-wise Chose to go to massage school out of that (based on previous experiences of enjoyment of it and research about its viability as a career to suit my building of my brand/Life-purpose.) 9 months into massage school, very clear about what I want in life (generally speaking) and building my brand while working full time. This was 6 years. All the best!
  3. In my life it has been pursuing both... A career change that leads to more income, and freedom of time. Life purpose: Leading to Long term, big picture, complete financial independence. I can see it being challenging to do one without the other.
  4. Check out this amazing video, taking into consideration the power of the internet, and solving problems you are passionate about, this is similar to how I am strategizing my financial independence.

  6. More experience has lead to a deeper understanding of what is authentic to me and what isn't. Within the realm of what is authentic, certain patterns became clear, leading me to Music, Bodywork, Authenticity, Wisdom, Self-Love, and changing careers to free up more time for building a Music career. I have been self actualizing for about 6 years, 3 of them serious, and just now, am I recognizing that I am on the right path, it took the first three to get oriented, then next three to build a skillset to a point where now I see, (sometimes,) that this is the path for me. Here is what has worked for me Psychedelics: Do your own research, this is not advice, just what worked for me Moving to a different city Living alone Working lots of different types of Jobs Leo's Life-Purpose course Introspection, thinking deeply about what I want out of life, how it would feel, etc.. Solo-Retreats All the best to you, stay True
  7. Its been pointed out that she may be busy, she may have life stuff causing her to not respond, which could be true, AND it takes very little effort and time to text someone back. So my thinking goes more like this. "if she isn't enthusiastic about texting, seeing, or being with me, its a waste of time." and big picture, it helps to build a life you love so much that not being texted back is not a priority (as pointed out by others in this thread.)
  8. it depends on context, day to day I am becoming more and more grounded in my idealism. Yes I have a vision for my life, what I want to experience, what I want to do, how I want to impact others.. AND I take action, I work with what is happening now, and I have a long way to go to balance this well. in the grand scheme of things I am very much a newbie.
  9. You are right, 'twas not in the personal development sub-section.
  10. This is a personal development forum, not google.
  11. That would require steroids.. What I am hearing is that you want an aesthetic physique, something you are proud of, that when you look in the mirror naked, you want to be proud and satisfied with what you see. is that correct?
  12. I would say yeah give it a try, worst case scenario you can give it to your sister. Also if you are looking to relieve tension in the body/mind, there are a lot of ways to do it (massage gun being one of them.) Going for a walk can be effective, not only relaxing the body and calming the mind, but also releasing natural "feel good," endorphins. Stretching: if there are specific places you notice stress more than others, google some stretches for that area. especially if done regularly can lengthen and relax hypertonic muscles. Taking a warm bath: Warmth will increase blood and lymph flow as well as soften or "melt" tension away. it also has an added effect of calming the mind and hey! you'll be (decently) clean at the end too There are a lot more, but these I find work for me and are relatively easy to implement. (Full disclosure its been over a year since I took a bath )
  13. You are being courageous for facing this, however difficult, and however much resistance shows up, you're on a path to Love yourself deeper and deeper. Also, your mom seems to be surprisingly understanding of this situation, glad you have that resource on this journey.
  14. I lost count after around 10 trips in, which was 5 years ago, I would guess between 100-200.
  15. Saw Odesza Live, it was incredible.
  16. I am in Massage School, and the short answer is.. If you are looking to Relax and let go of some of the anger/emotions, Swedish, Spa, Deep Relaxation, Deep Tissue, and many other modalities could help. If your body is Tense there can be a ton of reasons why, it could be posture, environment, holding emotions in specific areas, trauma, holding stress, etc.. One of the most Impactful effects a high quality massage is facilitating access the Parasympathetic nervous system, the "Rest and Digest" aspect of the autonomic nervous system. A Meditation practice can deepen that, pretty profound states can be reached as the body moves into a "healing" state. Disclaimer: I am not licensed yet, and am just getting to the end of term two, with three to go, so there is a ton more perspective out there. I would advise doing some research or asking chatGPT, it could shed some light on ways it Massage Therapy could help.
  17. Hi there, Welcome to the Forum. Not at stage yellow, I would guess I am entering stage Orange, coming out of blue, with a bit of green, a shade of yellow and a shard of turquoise. It sounds like you have been through a lot, externally as well as internally. I am curious. are you looking for a job or a life purpose? A job being, work or task traded for pay. A life purpose being a "divine calling," manifested as a career. what do you think?
  18. The most challenging trips I have ever had were because I resisted, I retracted instead of expanded, I fought instead of let go. I find this to be the cause of most horrible trips. EDIT: I read the trip report and I dont know.
  19. Authenticity and Self Love. It seems that everything else comes from that.
  20. Hi all, Context: My life purpose is to articulate the wisdom of Self-Love and Authenticity, I play Music and live performance is my zone of genius. I am in Massage school which will end in 10 months, leaving me with a job that will pay my bills and then some, working 20-25 hours a week, perfect to build my brand, continue building my musical skillset and big picture, work towards financial independents with my life purpose of being an independent music artist. During this time I am both Writing music (developing my skillset,) and clarifying my brand (Waking Authenticity,) identity, its story, building content strategies (for social media,) brainstorming content ideas, developing logo ideas etc... Here is what the songwriting has led to: Dream a World: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1EbKMcYEpKLyGlLjLPwySdP8KaUC7W1m6/view?usp=sharing It will be well over a year before I start releasing music, posting social media content, and practicing the brand building. Question: How much Theoretical building of my brand can I do before application? How useful is it to plan it out so far ahead of time? How much strategy is to much strategy? My thoughts on this are that there is a ton of wisdom in the advice my brother in aw is giving, and that is probably exactly how my brand will develop over the next few decades, However, I see myself hitting the ground running, with a lot of clarity and content ready to go as soon as the time arrives. I appreciate any feedback Be Truly You. -Paul
  21. +1 YES.
  22. Are you asking what is the most important qualities in a women?
  23. Thanks man I remember 5 years ago when I dropped out of college, I couldn't even talk to girls unless I drunk or stoned, the depth of my self hatred was dark, along with that a coping mechanism of people pleasing and neurotic agreeableness. At the time I wasn't even aware of the depth of my disfunction, or my potential. An Eye opening LSD experience shifted the entire trajectory of my life, and from there it a good 3.5 years where I barely even talked to girls, I had so much to work through psychologically, psychedelic's were a pivotal tool during that time, as I healed I reflected on what my choices had led me to the hell I created. During that time I really wanted sexual intimacy, I wanted so badly to have a girlfriend, to have someone that loved me. Eventually when I did end up attracting women into my life, (about two years ago,) I was still pretty needy and inauthentic, at the same time, they were so incompatible I could barely stand their personality. Imagine who you would need to be to attract a high quality women into your life. One that you connect with deeply, on a emotional, intellectual level and spiritual level, is conscious and is growing, takes care of her health and looks the way you want her to. That Future you is possible, and that relationship is too.
