I see it as quite obvious. Israel has not attempted to remove mothers with children from Gaza. I would say that Israel is killing civilians as a strategy, a warning, to demonstrate to its potential enemies that in the event of war Israel will not be merciful, and taking into account its arsenal, that says a lot.

Bombing civilians like Israel is doing is horrible, but it is worth remembering that all states do it. US in Iraq, for economic and strategic reasons, Russia in Chechnya, France in Algeria... basically all of them, but it's just different to see it live. The reality is that if a state is to survive, moral concerns must be put aside.
