  1. Psychedelics don't provide any special true knowledge. They may well have apparent utility inside the dream somehow (like anything else), but as far as truth goes, their utility lies in unveiling the only true knowledge.
  2. Happy New Year! 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 100, 9000, 5,000,000,000... How many comments of mine did it take to fit all those numbers above?
  3. The question assumes that there is a mechanism. Any question about God or the absolute that assumes anything, is unanswerable for that reason.
  4. Perhaps. Anything=Everything is very simple and direct though, however... i.e. yeah... virtually inaccessible by seekers. Still about as direct as can be. Not that any direct pointer can actually help someone understand what is -- there is no real context in which knowing the absolute dualistically can be possible, at least not separate from illusion. D.O. is also direct in its own right. I like it.
  5. Really, dependent origination can basically be distilled to: Anything = Everything
  6. ^^^? Anything beyond that explanation would basically be fluff ?
  7. If spiritual experience is to mean anything at all, LSD-25 and 5-MeO-DMT can provide it with great reliability ? Life changing or life re-contextualizing unveilings of God mind, especially cosmic oneness, ego-death, etc. Psychedelics aren’t special — like anything else they can be spiritual/mystical experiences. Were you saying they were exempt from this? Not exactly claiming the opposite, I’m just wondering where you got that idea.
  8. A lot of things can happen when the mind is restructuring through serious meditation. Psych ward visits are rare but not unheard of. The Jhanas and deep states of detachment can cause this to happen but generally the apparent process of awakening/inquiry/unknowing is quite different from detachment — detachment is more a result of that, more than a factor that brings it about.
  9. The chief (and perhaps the only, if that) practicality of Truth may be acquiring a taste for its raw purity.
  10. It describes the emptiness, acausality, and timelessness of existence, causality, and time. So it’s a pointing.
  11. i.e. unimaginably beautiful. Think of it like this: If it were any different, it would be worse, in a way you may not understand currently. The serial killer must play the role of the serial killer for there to be heroes that rise to the occasion to stop him. No evil = no drama = less wake-up calls = less amusement = less good. Therefore, evil is not wrong, it’s just not preferable to those which prefer good... Not only that, but one’s good can be another’s evil — grounds for even more drama (perhaps remember that word unimaginable). ^^^ Very, very roughly speaking. I don’t know though... but literally — i.e. not in the sense often meant ? — It is direct here that there is no actual dualistic knowing of truth in any way because it is not even conceivably possible, nor is there a potentially real framework which it could be possible in.
  12. Focused and passionate inquiry into what I am and what is true until it’s destructive to belief systems -> Grace -> the inquiry-unraveling hits point of no return then becomes all encompassing and complete -> no more questions -> the only thing resembling the presence of an answer is the absence of questions (and the absence of there ever having been a real question), or it could be said: all-there-is is unknowable and infinite and there’s no separation nor other nor two (anything=everything) — but absolutely directly, and not as an understanding or a knowing. A non-resolving resolution. The gateless gate.
  13. It's not you. If that's what appears there then that's just what's appearing. Conflation happens via unseen forces. No mistakes have been made.
  14. The name's just inspired by Ramana. I'm not digging at JBP. Didn't mean for it to come off that way but if that's the way it seems to you then so be it. I think JBP to be quite wise. In case the word story is what ticked you off -- it would never even occur to me that the universe itself is not a story.
  15. Definitely doesn't look like a fly. But I have definitely seen planes, and helicopters, that look just like that, moving in the same way. And the changes in intensity of light in this clip happen at the same time the rest of the screen changes focus. Can't really say I find anything abnormal about it but I wasn't there so I don't know.
  16. It's like he's so smart his ego has woven an amazing story to behold indeed.
  17. I really have no opinion on the matter but a particularly awesome scenario which makes sense to me is if they are like higher order hive minds, our finite minds could be connected to theirs in some way, so they'll literally show up AS we cease to disbelieve in them, or just when the time is right. Law of One kind of stuff. That's basically just fiction but from here certainly I see no reason for why it couldn't appear to happen in the universal play!
  18. It's a total story, but: if ET's (perhaps even "trans-dimensional's" or something) are in a superhuman, highly or fully integrated state of consciousness, or higher order beings in some way, maybe it's possible they will show up literally as we stop disbelieving in them, collectively and perhaps to some extent, individually. Since nothing is truly separate anyway. But that's on the relative level which is inseparable from distortion. The video itself, on the other hand, I can't really say anything else about. Maybe some more here will view it and let you know what they think. It definitely looks like it could conceivably be plausible, but beyond that I don't have any opinion on the matter.
  19. Could be. Not saying this isn't a UFO -- in fact I would actually prefer that it did convince me that it was; it'd make for more interesting times -- but with the quality of that video, that could have been a plane. I have seen planes like that such that the lights, as they do in the video, don't falter even for long distances. And the periodic increase in intensity of the light seemed to correlate with a sort of focus difference / haloing effect. Not a naysayer in any way on this topic -- I'd be amazed yet at the same time perfectly unsurprised if we made contact with extraterrestrial life -- I just don't think this video is profound evidence. Maybe that's just at first glance for me. Let's see what others think. Not saying I disbelieve it at all, I just have no opinion on the matter either way as of yet in particular for this video.
  20. How does Faith require god? In the exact same way God requires faith.
  21. Yeah, all of that resonates. Self never stops because it itself is the absence of stopping. The assumption that it can stop perpetuates the experience that there is a self which could stop. If it does apparently stop it's seen as never having started, so it never stopped, to the bitter and beautiful end, which isn't an end because there is already only the end, which is also the beginning. There's no separation to the entirety of the whole. The degree to which enlightenment is not seen, could be described as the degree to which there seems to be a real (or true) difference between 1. Anything and 2. Everything. Which generally strongly correlates negatively with any self-referential maladies (or vigor's) including self-esteem, self-hate, self-pride, self-shame, self-love (even... but only: in a sense / so to speak), etc.
  22. ^^^ Precisely. To want enlightenment is to misunderstand enlightenment. Any claim to knowledge is a confession of ignorance. The only truth is that there is truth. I am that I am. Nothing that makes sense on either side of enlightenment makes sense on the other.
