Fair enough. Though even for that endeavor, having someone around who can be as authentically direct as Nahm is perhaps a good thing, and hard to come by. -

That there is a base reality of any substance which is behind what appears — that is basically the whole illusion. -

@WokeBloke Death as opposite to life is not real death. Life as opposite to death is not real Life. The life which appears to begin will also end. Only the Life which never began will never end — and that’s what This is. The life that appeared to begin is Life/This appearing as a life — i.e. life appears in This. -

Precisely. But in the illusion, it’s not a bunch of binary code, it’s more like the attached image. The point though is that it’s absolutely direct, even if it appears as duality. I.e. hopefully it need not be said that the image is a mere schematic representation — The base reality is literally all there is and it’s not hidden. -

The feeling of being me is what you turn toward whenever a thought/object appears. Withdraw attention from everything but that. It's just that the mind may trick you into what that is, so if it appears to you, withdraw attention from the thought external to you, and fix it in the self. But yeah, not as a sort of infinite regress or stressful practice -- rather a gentle technique of simply turning away from thoughts and just feeling that you are... in order to facilitate self attention in this way it can be useful to: (to the exclusion of all else) very simply inquire into how you know that you are. -

I’ll also add, it seems to be directly (almost precisely) correlated with what I would describe as “background gratitude.” -

The actual appearance of what happens is precisely what is not actually happening. What that seems to arise out of, but isn’t actually separate from, is the wholeness which can’t be spoken but one could say is what’s actually happening because it’s the only reality. -

No matter how crazy life gets, it's still merely a fleeting insignificant thought the ineffable God is having, so to speak. -
@Federico del pueblo You're very welcome!

3 nonconsecutive days a week of training that involves at least one of each of the following movements: pushing, pulling, leg-dominant. Bare minimum 80-100g of protein daily; >60 g if vegan and maybe just simply can't seem to manage 80-100+ -- Preferably 120g (or way more) if lifting seriously. And get enough fats (not difficult). ^^^ Apart from the above rules, nutrition is extremely individual / varied. Barebones program backbone, 3x/wk: Standing Overhead Press 3x5-10 (after at least 2 lighter ramped warmup sets of 5) (pushing) Deadlift 1x5 (after at least 2 lighter ramped warmup sets of 5) (leg; pulling) Weighted Chin-up 3x5-10 (after at least 2 lighter ramped warmup sets of 5) (pulling) Perhaps some Side Laterals 3x10-20 if you're a guy who wants to look good, but the above 3 already have you covered for health and fitness ^^^ That's essentially an optimal general program outline for general health and fitness. Don't choose bench press for the pushing movement, unless you're also performing standing overhead press -- bench press by itself can cause rotator cuff issues over time. Can do squats instead of deadlift -- must squat to or below parallel; never do half squats as they're bad for knees Can do bent over rows (from the floor) or horizontal rows, instead of chins Cardio is great, but if it were to, say... prevent you from doing any lifting (though I'm not sure why it would), then it'd actually be harming you. It's a widespread misconception (and misnomer) that "cardio" is better for cardiorespiratory health than full body compound barbell lifts -- cardio is more like the cherry on top. Cardio << Lifting < Lifting + Cardio.

Nice Except, paradoxically, the I which never existed doesn't disappear -- in the end precisely just because, as you say, it never existed anyway. And also... the sunset is not knowable, nor is it separate from the unknowable absolute timeless infinite totality... which is all there is -- i.e. without other (alone, as you say). But it essentially has nothing to do with death -- in this context there is no death, there's only everything. Just clarifying in case you're reifying a sunset separate from a human being -- the human and the sunset are not two i.e. there is no reality apart from perception. Infinite cannot know finite, and all there is is infinite. -

My intuition is that it seems to have something to do with the character's involvement in the story. Though that's really not a great way to word it. Not the involvement per se, but the degree to which the apparent character is liable to be associated with the apparent arising of held beliefs that aren't true. For instance, there is no belief crazy enough to be seen here as ultimately more false than any other, since they're just all clearly an appearance of the infinite, which has absolutely no limits. The visuals seemed to go away, and even get less and less over time, as there was a concomitant fading-out of the curious and very general quality of "knowing things." It's like when there's nothing more amazing than whatever seems to appear already, the psychedelic doesn't have to wow you with a bunch of visuals and entities and journeys from the subconscious, it just takes you directly to the heart of the matter -- reality. Kind of. It's in the story, but that sort of event horizon that was crossed at ~23 is what I'd associate with the beginning of the path of consciousness-expansion (or maybe call it the first glimpse of God-realization). But the beginning of the enlightenment path didn't happen until several years later, despite thinking that I was surely already on it. Again, totally in the story, but yeah that is what seemed to happen here. -

Between age 16 and 22, I would go on crazy visionary adventures with psychedelics -- seemingly met aliens, etc. It seems I hit some kind of event horizon at age 23 and from then on, psychedelics got about 50x stronger -- but no more visuals, only God / nonduality / infinity / pure ineffability. n,n-DMT is no more visual than any other psychedelics for me now (well, as of about a year ago), it's just the same kind of "God blast" that 5-MeO-DMT gives except a little weirder feeling. No more aliens (and there definitely used to be). TLDR psychedelics can change over time. I used to get fully immersive visuals off a couple hundred ug LSD-25 -- to the point where I'd see angels shooting me with bows and arrows. When the trips got stronger, the visuals stopped, as did any sense of other-ness. So ime, for instance, to say one chem is more visual than another, kind of doesn't even resonate here anymore. Idk. -
The0Self replied to Cathal's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@RMQualtrough @Salvijus One could say nothing exists (as in literally existence = nothingness). Could also say all there is = existence, and nonexistence = impossible. Or you could say existence and nonexistence are not two. -
The0Self replied to Cathal's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
The point is that even if there were, there’s no knowing (no one to know) anyway. There’s no one to know that there’s no one. -
The0Self replied to Cathal's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Who are you? Not you. Who are they? Not them. What is the world? Not the world. There’s no true knowing in that sense, as knowing requires partiality (and separation) and therefore untruth. -
The0Self replied to ChrisZoZo's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
yeah that last part definitely resonates a bit. Like that pancake is still water reflecting everything including apparent depth... On the visual level anyway, at least in reference to the states and revelations that can seem to arise on the path. -
1. Yes. Bench press without overhead press means internal rotation without external rotation -- stresses the shoulder girdle. 2. Not really. Fine is relative though. In any case, the two exercises are not comparable. But you can do weighted dips instead of overhead press, at least for a little while. A program is rather incomplete without standing overhead barbell press, but dips substituted are also okay generally. Hard to explain why this is the case, as it's rather holistic.

To be God is to know nothing of God. Judgement and caring are two sides of the same coin. It's a story, but the cold and even selfish aspects of your self are actually necessary to be maximally loving. -

Looks good. Very important you get at least 120g protein a day. By overhead raises do you mean standing overhead press? Because if you bench you should also do standing overhead press to avoid rotator cuff issues. The planks and sit ups are not required -- especially once you include chin ups. The curls will not be required once you're doing chin ups. Can actually very effectively get a noticeable amount more delt/shoulder size and strength if you want by simply adding side lateral raises -- several sets of 10-20 -- at the end of the session so you can just burn them out and then leave; just do sets until they're exhausted... like 2-6 sets with little rest... don't do that with other exercises though... it's fine for small movements because they only fatigue the muscle and not the nervous system. The rep ranges you're using are good but for any main barbell movements a better balance of fitness vs fatigue buildup would come from staying in the 5-10 rep range. But for hypertrophy of smaller muscles, higher helps (e.g. side lateral raises 3x10-20). I didn't see you list sets per exercise, but I'll say: 3 is great, except for deadlift. Don't exceed 1 set for deadlift or you will soon run into neural fatigue -- in fact while the deadlift is the exercise with the highest stimulus level, it also has the lowest fitness/fatigue ratio of any exercise... keep it to once a week once you get pretty strong and exceed (lb)405x5, and perhaps even when only at 315x5. And always ramp up for warm ups. At least 2 sets (not including the initial very low weight set). i.e. if deadlifting 405, do 1 set of 5 at 135, 1 set of 5 at 225, 1 set of 5 at 315, then perhaps 1 set of 1-3 reps at 360, then do your one work set of 5 at 405. The backbone is including all the main movements and any less is an incomplete program: pushing, pulling, and a leg-dominant. i.e. standing overhead press, or bench press and standing overhead press (never bench by itself), or weighted dips chin up, or row (or horizontal row) + chin up deadlift and/or squat Optional: anything else; some of the most useful ones are... lateral raises, standing barbell curl For calves, if you're after aesthetics, the best exercise is actually stair climber with weighted vest or pack on.

I had something similar at one point. It was like the aspect of experience that experience itself is designed to hide... became visible -- centerless-ness. But the residuum of the awareness OF that is what makes it so terrifying. End of separation is the end of awareness OF...
