In dreams you think you are the dream character, but when you Awaken you Realize that you are the Consciousness that was dreaming. Imagine if you were the dream character in a difficult dream and you suddenly had the Realization that you weren't the dream character, but the Consciousness that was dreaming. Then instead of thinking you were the dream character caught up in the struggle, you would Realize that you were the Consciousness that was dreaming. Then the dream wouldn't be fearful, because you Realize that What-You-Are as Consciousness is beyond what happens to the dream character Turns out we can have this Realization in Waking Life and that's what is happening. You are Transcending the mind-body to realize your Self as Consciousness. Those remnants of conditioned thinking that are echoing around in your Consciousnesses can just be ignored. The more you just let the conditioned thinking fade away without getting lost in it, the quicker it will dissolve away - just like waking up from a dream and forgetting what the dream was about, the conditioned thinking will likewise fade away.
