How can I aspire to awaken and become a detached monk when I'm addicted to cigarettes..porn..tasty food ..videos games ..? I'm stil stuck in the perspective that choice is completely illusion. there is no choice. You are not choosing anything. And I mean anything. Everything. You are not in control of what's happening right now . Its easy to prove if you try to imagine the thought you're going to have in the next 10 seconds. In a sense.. I'm not writing this.. and you are not reading this. It's all being played and it's all karma. Circumstances are infinitely complex and destiny is inevitble. In this particular world.. In this particular part of the world.. In this particular Era.. To this particular family.. With this particular genetics.. With this particular gender.. With this particular look.. Yada yada..you didn't choose the language that you are speaking.. You didn't choose your upbringing.. You didn't choose your cultural conditioning.. You don't choose your heart beat.. You don't choose your thoughts.. You don't choose your actions.. You don't choose your reactions.. You don't choose what you agree with.. You don't choose what you disagree with.. You don't choose your beliefs.. your desires.. your traits your moods.. your habits.. your chances.. your anything lol...simply because you are not real as an individual. you yourself are a thought or at a best a continuity of conditioned thoughts been shaped by your environment.

Free will is a total horseshit . If you pay attention to your experience you will notice that. I like this experiment.. Try to stop your thoughts and movements for just few seconds.. And notice how your body will carry on thinking and moving on its own. It can be a very scary experience. You have zero control over your body. I had a hard time with this realization few months ago. I thought Im losing my mind.

@Caoimhin impermanence Is a core concept to understand reality . This is obvious enough. Nothing at all stays the same even for a nanosecond. From the planets and stars to the atoms and electrons . Everything is constantly fluctuating without stop. You are asking how do we ground ourselves? How is it that we can ground ourselves in a reality that is constantly changing?..How are we able to do it?.. The answer is we aren't. As you just described your life is a mess and a cocktail of chaos .thats not a mistake .thats how its supposed to be.

If you think about it hypothetically..you can zoom into any object forever . There are molecules then atoms then electrons then quarks etc..and it doesn't end . Reality is infinite zoom. That's how you can think about it . Yet in direct experience you only see the surface of objects and things .you see a human body and you only see its skin .you don't see the bones and the digestive system. Why so ? If the human body (or any object for that matter) is infinite zoom you should zoom into it in practice not just theoretically .yet everything appears as just the surface appearance. No infinite zoom . Do you guys understand my point ? Any insights ?

Because if reality is turtles all the way up and all the way down then I should experience this fractal right now without using a microscope. But apparently it is not like that for this moment of experience. The infinite fractal hasn't yet came into existence. Hi princess 👸. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for this comment. I did exactly what you're suggesting and it worked . I knew I had to do that but was second guessing myself . In fact I know there is no shame in watching porno..every young male in the entire planet watches porn. I think after a decade from now I will naturally outgrow it when I get married and raise a family . And when my male kids reach puberty I will sit with them and kinda teach them how to explore their sexuality in a healthy way . You can experience high states of consciousness and verify that you are not the body. You don't need full blown earth shattering awakening to get this . I've been going through what I would call a radical identification awakening. As a result of intense meditation sessions and self-inquiry. The seperate sense of self and doership is completely collapsing.. The veil has completely broken and I'm aware that I'm not the ego.. Who thinks it's doing stuff. I'm not the body or mind. Or the world. The body is seen as the world.. Not me. A complete understanding has occurred that I'm pure present. At the center. What's surrounding the center is none of my business. The body mind and the world. It will unfold naturally as it's always done. But I as pure present nothingness is just a vessel for it.So what are you? No not at all .you're welcome brother ♥.

Ok i need need some help understanding something . (I know we had this conversation about free will numerous times in the past )but what I'm talking about is not only from the perspective of the absolute. Its from that of a physical body as well . Lets say the body is real and the mind is real and that you are a human (this is how it appears right ?)I'm not gonna start citing the scientific studies that were done in the last century that shows that the brain takes a decision 10 millisecond before your conscious decision. So for example..I decided to take a cigarette..putting it into my mouth and smoke .what happened here ?the brain decides before I have the thought of smoking and then it appears that I made the decision consciously .while in fact it was completely inevitable. Please try this simple experiment: Get a piece of paper and pen..and write down the first movie that comes to mind . no deliberation. Notice how the content of whatever movie it was was completely unanticipated and random? It just happened..perhaps it was related to a recent memory or experience you had today. Notice how that was also out of control. Right ? Now extend the realization of this experience of happening of thinking of a movie to your entire existence. So whichever way you want to think about ..there is no choice neither to the body mind nor to the absolute.

The body is not yourself. The mind is not yourself. They're only temporary conditionings. They're there for a while then they're gone. Like bubbles on the ocean. Bubbles come bubbles go every second. Yet the ocean always remains the same. And so it is with life on this planet. People come people go. things come..things go everything changes.. changes..changes but you are the ocean of bliss. You have absolutely nothing to do with these changes whatsoever. This is the key realisation to freedom or liberation.

@Ishanga I appreciate you but I don't think you are helping him by putting the responsibility on his shoulders. Choice is illusory. Just take five minutes to investigate your life ..turn within and you will come to realize that your whole life has been mapped out for you before you came on this earth. Everything is predestined. However..if you look at it in the right way..it's beautiful and freeing..because it means that you are not responsible for anything in your life at all. If your life has been mapped out what have you got to do? Whatever has to be done will be done by itself. Wherever you have to be you will be. With whom you will have to be you will be with that person. Etc. The work you have to do will be done. It's wonderful when you think about this.
