@Nahm I'm not talking about lucidity in that sense (enlightenment or whatever). I'm talking about lucidity in night-time dreams. 90% of the time.. You don't know that you are dreaming while you are dreaming. You Believe the dream is real. Until you wake up. The argument carries that what if the waking state is also a dream. You wouldn't know. You could live your life believing that it's real. Only to wake up at the moment of death. That's one point. Is that you can't distinguish between the two (dreams and reality). This is one way those skeptics and epistemological nihilists argue that all of our perceptions might be an illusion and thus all of our knowledge is based upon illusion.

In what sense am I 'dreaming'? That's a vague statement. You need to elaborate. I don't think I am laying in my bed right now hallucinating stuff. Although that's just a belief. I can't know. Which precisely my point is we can't distinguish between reality and dreams. Unless you are lucid in the dream. Do you mean it literally or figuratively? Or is it something I can't understand unless with psychedelicds?

So that you can relate to it. By using metaphors.

It's not that you have no free will. It's that you don't exist and free will is just a thought.

Because we are always chasing some better state in the future (time). And never satisfied with just what's present.

Metaphysically speaking.. Nonduality means there is only one substance out of which everything is made :namely consciousness.

Because It might seem that I didn't offer an alternative.. This is my take regarding exactly how I view existing... there is no difference between something and nothing. But since you think existence is something.. I have to tell you it's nothing. This present moment exists nowhere. It's not happening in a universe or a computer simulation or anywhere else. No one created this. There is no explanation and never will be an explanation. There is no mechanism why this appearance is here suddenly in the middle of nowhere. Like a dream. It's just here and that's It. We all agree this present moment exists right? Now is there anything else? No. You don't find any explanation here. You don't find "love" you don't find this or that. You just find the present moment suddenly here and that's it. I just told you the whole truth. Do you think you got here from yesterday? Yesterday itself is found here. THIS is the beginning and the end. I'm saying the present is the only reality. No past is found here. And no future is certain to come. Present is all.

All of the stuff that any self help person talks about, all these spiritual teachers, every finding within every religion, every scientific field, every single thing that anyone including myself talks about here and otherwise is just noise to your own path, its not the "truth" regardless as to how much anyone wants to believe it is the case. At the end of the day they're just beliefs contradicting the present moment and to the extent that is the case, the extent that said beliefs should probably be questioned. The idea of it being hollow -undefined. Being is just "it" - it's not nothing or everything, it just fucking "is"....it's outside of language and everything else.

@Javfly33 I believe we both exist. Just a thought: I don't think you can meaningfully call your life an "illusion." I mean, even if it were a simulation, dream, or such, it's still "real." My point here is based on my perspective that "reality" is an epistemological judgement that can only be established by consciousness. As such (along the lines of the cogito) you can never really doubt that what you are seeing is "real." I don't know if this is at all related to the topic, but I think it's worth mentioning
