  1. I mainly choose to because I always have the option to enter satisfaction of a relatively high degree more or less on demand but also because I would rather choose my torture on the path toward a better life than be tortured by the realization of lost potential in the future. I’ve lived a half-assed life for the majority of it, and this is rather sickening to me in retrospect. I’d like to live as close to my potential as is feasible. If I end up like David Goggins, I’ll be quite happy with that.
  2. @Jannes of course. I totally agree. Relative perspectives should still be understood well and integrated.
  3. Here’s my update: Reading this book before my workout and basically doing vipassana from the nondual perspective as the whole field of experience is pushing itself to muscular failure.
  4. There’s no such thing as “thing itself.” It’s pretty basic for us here to understand, but to the average contemporary illusory self structure, it’s mind blowing. As always, I’ll say my favorite pointer and line — it’s JUST THIS. Not God. Not awareness. Not self. Not other. Not etc., etc. JUST MFING THIS. The end ?❤️?
  5. Hey everyone, It looks like I’ll have the opportunity to start leading a meditation class at a local yoga studio about a month from now. I’m planning to offer it as a general “Buddhist Meditation” class which will cycle through breath meditation/Ānāpānasati, Metta, Vipassana, and fire kasina until I find what most people are interested in and getting results from. It looks like it will be a weekly class. I anticipate most people going will be there for things less than Liberation such as stress relief, developing a peaceful mind, etc. I still would like to introduce the class as a path to deeper realization though. A rough framework I’m thinking could work well would be like this: 10-15 minute Dhamma talk/reading of a related text/watching related video content 30 minute meditation 15-20 minute discussion of what specifically came up or was noticed during meditation for each person with feedback and tips given based on what came up, this time will also likely be used to share our spiritual perspectives and build rapport among the individuals in the group What are your thoughts on this? I’d love to get feedback and tips from anyone who has led people in meditation either individually or in a group context. Thanks for the help in advance, Brandon
  6. This was discontinued as simply far too many USPS, FedEx, and UPS workers were being caught in the crossfire of reality-shattering insight.
  7. @Danioover9000 I think I’m working my mid traps enough. Could be wrong though
  8. @Razard86 good suggestion. I’ll definitely consider this
  9. @cetus this is a good point. If the sessions usually run 1 hour, what would you suggest to fill that time with something relevant and helpful?
  10. @Razard86 I’m not finding any “consciousness” in just this ? No need to complicate what is with such words
  11. No dreaming. No God. No consciousness. No self. No Self. No other. Just this.
  12. This talk uses many terms aligned with Daniel Ingram’s teachings in the book Mastering the Core Teachings of the Buddha, but it also incorporates more general terminology. It might serve as a good introduction for what to expect on the path discussed in MCTB.
  13. The start of my leg workout today was definitely callousing my mind. 175x12, 180x12, 185x12 on barbell squat followed by 240x12, 240x12, 245x12, 250x12 on Romanian deadlifts all at 135.2 lb. body weight.
  14. This video is an absolute must watch in my opinion if you care whatsoever at moving toward your own limitless potential. Overcoming Arachnophobia Ep. #1 I’m gonna be posting a lot here about the immense value of this man’s incredible message. Just for context, I’ve had arachnophobia my whole life somewhat severely at times. This audiobook will change your life more than even all of Actualized.org content over years combined if you’re at the right point to apply the methods at full force, at least that’s how it’s been for me. This isn’t to say that Actualized.org and Leo’s work is not immensely valuable. That, in part, allowed me to fix my bipolar disorder in the end. Without that foundation, I’d probably not be able to turn things up 10 notches by applying David Goggin’s principles. More to come soon. To be completely transparent and honest in a way that might unfortunately rub some of you the wrong way, the individual who has helped me the most in life is Jesus Christ. Matthew 7:16-20: “You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? 17 Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.”
  15. From my experience, the less intellectual a job is, the harder it is. If anyone disagrees, go bail hay in the summer…
  16. Just to clarify, I’m using “enlightenment”, which is not a word that was ever used in eastern contexts up until recently, to refer to liberation from suffering. Everyone has their own definition, and this is not the only definition I personally use for that word, but this is what the video is speaking about/to.
  17. I’ve been focusing a bit more on cardio lately, but I’m looking to prioritize my strength training workouts again starting this week.
  18. ?❤️? I appreciate how reading your posts gives me new vocabulary words to learn ?
  19. If you spend more than 10 minutes of your life arguing about spiritual nonsense on the internet, your ass ain’t enlightened ???
  20. I did a 5 mile run in the rain today. It’s kind of odd that the activities I am doing to “callous the mind” as David calls it actually become pretty enjoyable when I know that it’s training me to become more resilient and relentless in my approach to life.
  21. This is pretty typical. The easiest way to reduce soreness is to just work out with less intensity or volume. Creatine won’t likely do much to help with soreness. The main purpose of creatine is to improve your strength and endurance during your sets so that the muscle is pushed closer to its true limit.
  22. So I’ve been shown through following David’s suggestions that I’m not actually in complete control with my bipolar disorder as I previously thought. I also have realized that even though the dragon is not yet completely slain, I have developed a much better skill set in managing symptoms more successfully. David’s “taking a soul” tactic worked so well to help me manage the 2 ER visits I had in the past week much better than I would’ve handled them in the past. I’ve been listening to more of David’s content that talks about balance and recovery, and I’m starting to find a much healthier groove in life than before I started going deep into his life story and mental tactics.
