  1. Dissecting Leo Gura’s Take on Solipsism (Direct Communication to Followers of Actualized.org) In this video I go in depth on the type of solipsism that has been promoted by Leo in the past as well as linking it to other common concepts in other spiritual traditions such as the Atman, Brahman, and the radical levels of impermanence privy to higher-level Buddhist insight meditators. I’m not going to spell it all out here as doing this properly in text format would likely take more time than making the video did. I’ll leave the work of simply watching the video to you. If you’re impatient or in a rush, you can skip the first 5-10 minutes of introduction. A quick side note: I’ve not been taking my YouTube content and any spiritual topics released very seriously lately. This video is a strong exception to that. This is the first time in many months that I’ve released a deep “teaching”. This is by far the most complete and likely best-delivered video on spiritual topics I’ve made potentially in all my time on YouTube. I live my life in a rather effortless flow which is in many ways uncontrollable these days after my awakening process has deepened exponentially over and over ever since I reached stream entry (1st of 4 levels of awakening in the Theravadin Buddhist tradition) on May 28, 2021. What this has meant is that much of my content and life was essentially making and living itself to differing degrees with the past several months being on a completely immersive and involved autopilot that is quite difficult, if not impossible, to explain in its fullness. This is all to say that things finally lined up in this process of flow to create a deep and direct teaching on a serious note. I make this video because I have a good friend who has been suicidal multiple times due to misunderstandings of Leo’s teaching on solipsism. I do not hold Leo to blame for this, but this does lead me to want to naturally release a serious and in-depth piece of content on the matter. The video is a breakdown of solipsism only and does not get into any of these reasons for making the video nor does it spend any time with criticisms of Leo or similar things. I want to personally thank Leo for his work and the great help he’s given me indirectly through his teachings. I wish you all the best on your personal journeys.
  2. ❤️?? I was definitely in a tangential type of expression, but this is simply the only way that communication could have been done authentically at the time
  3. Yeah that’s pretty much the whole point of the thread. You’re already doing it ? The idea is that you will change yourself to enjoy beneficial activities naturally during the self-actualization process. Activities that are quite unconscious and even detrimental become less and less appealing naturally. Reading and doing insight meditation simultaneously is one of the most relaxing things for me now, and it’s a lot of fun. It’s a higher tier of fun than just playing video games for example.
  4. @Realms of Wonder I thought about that wording after posting it. Do whatever you want ?
  5. @EternalForest You’re totally right in that pure play time is essential. Right now I’ve blocked in time to play Dark Souls for example, but I typically reserve it for after I’ve completed a certain number of hours of my personal training course. Occasionally I’ll just break the rule of doing work first if I’m feeling that enjoying the moment or relaxing more is useful. I think it all comes down to how you dose the pure play time and making sure it doesn’t throw you too far off track of your goals. @Emrie I feel the same way with the gym these days. I feel worse on my off days. I would hate to not be able to go at this point. It’s always a highlight of my day regardless of how brutal or easy the workout is.
  6. I mainly choose to because I always have the option to enter satisfaction of a relatively high degree more or less on demand but also because I would rather choose my torture on the path toward a better life than be tortured by the realization of lost potential in the future. I’ve lived a half-assed life for the majority of it, and this is rather sickening to me in retrospect. I’d like to live as close to my potential as is feasible. If I end up like David Goggins, I’ll be quite happy with that.
  7. @Jannes of course. I totally agree. Relative perspectives should still be understood well and integrated.
  8. Here’s my update: Reading this book before my workout and basically doing vipassana from the nondual perspective as the whole field of experience is pushing itself to muscular failure.
  9. There’s no such thing as “thing itself.” It’s pretty basic for us here to understand, but to the average contemporary illusory self structure, it’s mind blowing. As always, I’ll say my favorite pointer and line — it’s JUST THIS. Not God. Not awareness. Not self. Not other. Not etc., etc. JUST MFING THIS. The end ?❤️?
  10. Hey everyone, It looks like I’ll have the opportunity to start leading a meditation class at a local yoga studio about a month from now. I’m planning to offer it as a general “Buddhist Meditation” class which will cycle through breath meditation/Ānāpānasati, Metta, Vipassana, and fire kasina until I find what most people are interested in and getting results from. It looks like it will be a weekly class. I anticipate most people going will be there for things less than Liberation such as stress relief, developing a peaceful mind, etc. I still would like to introduce the class as a path to deeper realization though. A rough framework I’m thinking could work well would be like this: 10-15 minute Dhamma talk/reading of a related text/watching related video content 30 minute meditation 15-20 minute discussion of what specifically came up or was noticed during meditation for each person with feedback and tips given based on what came up, this time will also likely be used to share our spiritual perspectives and build rapport among the individuals in the group What are your thoughts on this? I’d love to get feedback and tips from anyone who has led people in meditation either individually or in a group context. Thanks for the help in advance, Brandon
  11. This was discontinued as simply far too many USPS, FedEx, and UPS workers were being caught in the crossfire of reality-shattering insight.
  12. @Danioover9000 I think I’m working my mid traps enough. Could be wrong though
  13. @Razard86 good suggestion. I’ll definitely consider this
  14. @cetus this is a good point. If the sessions usually run 1 hour, what would you suggest to fill that time with something relevant and helpful?
  15. @Razard86 I’m not finding any “consciousness” in just this ? No need to complicate what is with such words
  16. No dreaming. No God. No consciousness. No self. No Self. No other. Just this.
  17. This talk uses many terms aligned with Daniel Ingram’s teachings in the book Mastering the Core Teachings of the Buddha, but it also incorporates more general terminology. It might serve as a good introduction for what to expect on the path discussed in MCTB.
  18. The start of my leg workout today was definitely callousing my mind. 175x12, 180x12, 185x12 on barbell squat followed by 240x12, 240x12, 245x12, 250x12 on Romanian deadlifts all at 135.2 lb. body weight.
  19. This video is an absolute must watch in my opinion if you care whatsoever at moving toward your own limitless potential. Overcoming Arachnophobia Ep. #1 I’m gonna be posting a lot here about the immense value of this man’s incredible message. Just for context, I’ve had arachnophobia my whole life somewhat severely at times. This audiobook will change your life more than even all of Actualized.org content over years combined if you’re at the right point to apply the methods at full force, at least that’s how it’s been for me. This isn’t to say that Actualized.org and Leo’s work is not immensely valuable. That, in part, allowed me to fix my bipolar disorder in the end. Without that foundation, I’d probably not be able to turn things up 10 notches by applying David Goggin’s principles. More to come soon. To be completely transparent and honest in a way that might unfortunately rub some of you the wrong way, the individual who has helped me the most in life is Jesus Christ. Matthew 7:16-20: “You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? 17 Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.”
  20. From my experience, the less intellectual a job is, the harder it is. If anyone disagrees, go bail hay in the summer…
  21. Just to clarify, I’m using “enlightenment”, which is not a word that was ever used in eastern contexts up until recently, to refer to liberation from suffering. Everyone has their own definition, and this is not the only definition I personally use for that word, but this is what the video is speaking about/to.
