  1. I’m starting this post about 30 minutes after I stepped outside my front door carrying a tote of soiled cat litter, tripped on a loose piece of concrete, and fell straight into the sidewalk. This led to me thinking on how different the reality of my life is compared to when I was evaluating it during various spiritual peaks, highs, and insights in the past. It’s so easy to experience something utterly transcendental and sublime and unconsciously let that boost your ego to epic proportions. If you plan to have hundreds and thousands of deep spiritual experiences which is ideally part of how the spiritual path is when it’s going well, know that you will be constantly opening yourself up to arrogance. You’ll need to prepare to wash yourself clean of that repetitively. Following Leo’s teachings and seeing how Leo describes his awakenings can lead to a type of copycat effect where someone experiences an awakening or insight seemingly the same as he describes which leads to arrogance sparked by genuine spiritual development. It very much seems that this is just part of the path to improving oneself in spiritual ways as well as more mundane forms of personal development. None of that is Leo’s fault particularly, I mention him just as it is the most pertinent example we have while interacting on his forum after all. When we look to any sort of world-renowned spiritual master from Krishna to the Buddha, Jesus, etc., there is no shortage of maximal claims when it comes to the value judgments of their own attainments. If we want to follow on the same path, we are naturally going to be susceptible to exponential growth of our egoic bullshit alongside whatever genuine growth is made. I guess my point and realization with all of this is to say that sure you are GOD, your nature is none other than that of Buddha nature, there is nothing but You, and regardless, there is no guarantee you can make it from your front door to the trash bin without running into pain, suffering, and delusion brought about by the most ordinary of circumstances. The same can happen when you stub your toe on a desk or step on a Lego. It’s going to likely take decades of growth to improve marginally in such matters on any sort of a reliable basis. You might be Divine and the best thing before and after sliced bread, but as my brother used to say “gravity is the hardest boss in Dark Souls” and it will always have a way of bringing you back to your bare humanity. Stay humble, stay vigilant, and have fun on this preposterously beautiful adventure we call life on Earth.
  2. What is the context of the graph? How many prophecies were not fulfilled? Is saying there will be war and disease in the future and it happening a fulfilled prophecy? Or is that someone claiming something that always happens is going to happen again as if that is some proof of divine intervention? To me, it seems like Christians use the story of Christ to serve their own agendas. I’ve had many mystical experiences where I’ve felt a connection to Jesus, but trying to reconcile that with what Christianity manifests as in the world today makes me viscerally sick.
  3. I had a quite deep, honest, and heartfelt prayer to God for a wife and the ability to start a family. Within a couple weeks, I met the woman who is now my fiancée. Does God as some distinct entity or ultimate force of nature grant wishes like a genie coming out of a bottle? I don’t know. People claim that it can happen that way. One way I can see this functioning is that even if no supernatural or spiritual activity is taking place at all, you recognizing your own desire enough to cry out to something that you’re not even sure exists can be a powerful type of Law of Attraction process. Again, the Law of Attraction doesn’t necessarily have to have any spiritual reality to it, even though it might. Once you express your desire strongly enough, this can lead to you giving yourself confidence that whatever you wish for can/will happen. Acting from the place of there being a real possibility or even Divine force supporting your efforts to move toward actualizing your desire, you’re going to more easily perform the actions you’d need to make your goal a reality. This can also have the effect of you giving yourself permission to finally let what you want happen. Anyway, millions and even billions of people have found truth in God being actual in some way or another and being able to help us, so how can we be certain it doesn’t work the way so many people have determined that it does work?
  4. Can you give a definition or multiple definitions for what you mean by the word awareness?
  5. There are absolutely no rights or liberties that are limited because of my diagnosis or medical history. There is actually quite a bit of legislation to protect me from any sorts of discrimination. I highly doubt you need to worry about this unless you live in China, Yemen, or some other God forsaken country. Any modern western country should be quite safe in this regard. Unless you are an actual and persistent danger to society, they’re not going to lock you up somewhere and throw away the key.
  6. Buddhist enlightenment has absolutely nothing with being consciousness! The five aggregates, one of them being consciousness, are directly taught to NOT be you. This is reiterated again and again. If someone has told you that Buddhism teaches that you are consciousness, that person has no idea what Buddhism is. Whatever that teaching is, it is the opposite of Buddhism. Nothing in the phenomenal world is you in Buddhism.
  7. By the definition of the people around me, I’ve definitely lost my mind many times. “Psychotic features” is part of my medical diagnosis. The medical records from my various manic and depressive episodes are several hundreds of pages long from just one institution of the many I’ve been to. The mind for some people can be an easy thing to lose, but I’d say it’s far rarer for it to stay lost. The entire society around you will pressure you back to sanity if you do lose your mind for a time. Your brain will not want to stay that far out of homeostasis for long either. The sorts of neurochemical processes which cause insanity come at a high cost and are difficult for the brain and body to sustain.
  8. If you haven’t lost your mind, you cannot fully understand what a “mind” is. You can think of it working similar to how you don’t really understand what gravity is until you experience zero gravity. You can’t know what health is until you are injured or sick. Going on walks is a good idea. Cleaning is also good. Whatever “normie” activities you can think of should serve well. Doing physical work can also be quite grounding.
  9. So you are God, other is a dream. FABRICATION MISSING THE POINT Now what ? 2 choices in front of you : 1- You are God, alone and the only conscious one > life is pointless and empty FABRICATION MISSING THE POINT 2- Infinite intelligence chose to live this life which gives to your life an infinite value to enjoy it and live it like you would imagine it > life is meaningful and full FABRICATION MISSING THE POINT As God you are free to chose 1 or 2, but as infinitely smart you are, if you chose to live life in my opinion the best idea to chose is number 2 FABRICATION MISSING THE POINT Solipsism blah blah this that FABRICATION MISSING THE POINT
  10. Life isn’t going the way your ego wants it to which causes you deep suffering and dissatisfaction. Welcome to planet Earth. If succeeding in school is what you want advice on so that you’ll be happy as a result, I’ll skip the bullshit and give you no advice for that as it is a fool’s errand if your goal is to actually feel better about life and feel better about yourself. You are focusing your efforts on a solution that doesn’t work in the first place. Even if you outcompete your peers academically, this will be a hollow victory. You will have put in tons of effort to fight against the expression of your natural traits in order to still feel empty. You can skip that nonsense and feel empty now. If you want to be in a higher socioeconomic status than your peers, having good money habits and investing in something would serve you better anyway.
  11. It SEEMS like you’re talking about an illusion, but the notion and sense that there is an illusion is illusory, or at least it seems to be the case. Why all this talk of dancing fairy ventriloquists when they’re nowhere to be found?
  12. I’m flat broke, and I ain’t buying none of it! 😂 I need a discount if I’m buying any of this BS 🙂
  13. Saying Infinite Nothing is just another type of something. Nothing would not be posting on a forum @Javfly33!
  14. I think your task is to stop letting your mind live in the psych ward now that you are out. It sounds like it was traumatic and quite shitty, but this is now a thing of the past. Enjoy your freedom.
  15. I used to stare at the center of the x at the top right of a browser as a meditation technique when I had a boring retail job that gave plenty of downtime. There would become a clear point/dot within the center of the x while sufficiently concentrated or focused. It was a fun method. It’s interesting that you mention vision becoming clearer, because my vision would become cloudy and eventually slightly psychedelic/trippy the longer I stared. My eyes would become dry which is part of why this happened. Blinking a few times would bring my vision back to normal.
  16. I’m surprised to see someone here get this considering how much of an idol people have made of consciousness here. Good job.
  17. Considering he is a “f**ing douche,” I’d think he most likely does.
  18. The creator of the thread has questions about Christianity, so I answer those questions. I think you’re the one who doesn’t understand.
  19. The Holy Spirit in a Christian context is essentially the entity and/or process which gives a person what they deem to be a spiritual experience which verifies the teachings of Christianity. From what I’ve gathered, to blasphemy the Holy Spirit is to experience that Jesus is Lord and God is who and what Christians claim He is and then deny the accuracy of the Christian path. If this is in fact the case, I’m fucked because I’ve done precisely that in a sense. I’ve had plenty of radical spiritual experiences in the context of Christianity which convinced me of its truth, but now I’ve changed gears and favor a much different outlook.
  20. Spiritual progress is your best bet for improving depressive symptoms, but exercise is quite good also as people have said here. Get more sunlight, or buy a light therapy device (highly recommended). A device for $50 on Amazon works just fine. Go for a walk outside if you can while depressed. Get moving, change your environment, get a haircut. A plant-based diet might help. Keep in mind that sleep is a HUGE factor in bipolar disorder. Less sleep tends to induce mania. Too much sleep tends to induce depression. Most importantly, it is going to help you more in the long run to find ways to be extremely depressed without it phasing you or causing you to act out against your best interest. Check out this website: https://www.bipolaradvantage.com/all-courses/bio/ The methodology taught there is based off of increasing your capacity to better handle a greater range of mental and emotional states. You will not become better at living with the disorder if your goal is to remove all symptoms. That will not work. You must instead learn to groove and boogie through life just fine whether in a deep depression or strong manic episode. This is of course easier said than done. Medication can help a lot, but it took me a lot of spiritual progress before I could tolerate a high amount of medication without the side effects ruining me. If you’re serious about improving your depression, I’d suggest looking into Buddhism and practicing it. The main focus of Buddhism is to solve the problem of suffering which no other major tradition can claim to the same degree. 21. It’s rude to spam call people. I have a setting on my phone that doesn’t even let my phone ring when they call me. Don’t feel bad hanging up.
  22. Make money and invest it. Lift weights for strength and hypertrophy. Meditate. Either take college seriously or don’t go at all and start a career now. Work hard and give your all to whatever tasks you spend your time on. I used college as a social experience and didn’t apply myself as I did in high school because the sense of freedom was too enticing. I think this helped heal some social issues I had, so it wasn’t a total loss. Regardless, if I had started investing real estate at 18 instead of 22, I would probably not be forced to work to cover my living expenses whereas now that goal is likely several years away.
