The way i see it, all language is delusion. So any attachment to belief, which comprises language, is deluded. So, its pretty hard not to be deluded lol. -
From an IFS perspective, you want to treat all parts of you with compassion, and unburden them from extreme roles, whilst developing connection with them. However, also you want to become increasingly self-led. I suppose that is a similar idea of transcendence to traditional spirituality. The IFS defined self can be compared to God to my opinion. So you can also see it as being increasingly god led. So, there is an integration of transcendence, acceptance, connection and liberation.

Cos generally, when we lived in a state of nature, as Hobbes said, Life was nasty, brutish and short. Sure. There are some good parts to nature, a lot we can get in touch with. Like @Carl-Richard says above, its about filtering through nature and finding what works and what doesn't. You get a cut on your leg a few thousand years ago, and you can't trust nature. Nature will fuck you. I also think 40 is too high an age range, I'd put it in the 20s. In a large sense, generally everything that exists today exists as a means of surviving and adapting to nature. Good question tho

Yes. Not from direct experience. But there are quite a few successful puas who swear by it. Its also v good for the fundamental of, 'Assume the positive'

Haha been there. My favourite one is, The Ship of Theseus. Is the ship with all replaced planks still the Ship of Theseus or is it a new ship? I think it comes down to the fact that there is no essence to anything. There is no ship, apart from what we hold to be a ship. It may be that we are able to gain consensus within a particularly community by arguing for one point of view in a certain type of way, but in an objective sense, there is no better or worse categorisation. That is because the notion of there being an objective sense is arbitrary. And, with that being the case, combined with a deterministic view, I think the question becomes a sociological, rather than philosophical one. I.e. why did we come to hold that it is a ship. That too though can be refuted from a postmodernist angle lol. Shits wild out here haha. Nice post OP

@mostly harmless lol

Nice one. agree with you, up until the last paragraph. A lot of philosophers tend to be completely out of whack too. Levels of delusion upon delusion. Aside from the postmodernists. Also, w/ math i don't even think the critique needs to be as complex as that video makes out. I'd just question the foundationalist stance, and any axiom that is offered to be the base axiom of math. And ask what the axiom of that axiom is.

@Extreme Z7 I like it somewhat. Makes some useful points. I think the key to anti-foundationalism is to use it as an internal critique rather than external. So, rather than say, 'There is no base justification to rationality, therefore, all propositions are arbitrary'. You simply ask the question, 'What is your justification for that?' and go on, down and down the chain of justifications. The thing is his rebuttal to the anti-foundationalist critique also begs the question of whether there is a base justification, as he is asserting his counter proposition is true. The issue is whatever is said, is something said. It is something that takes place within the paradigm of rationality. So, anything claimed is always begging the question. I really think the only reason to engage in this sort of discussion is for rhetorical purpose. In terms of using language to manipulate someone to a certain point of view. To use it instrumentally. It sounds harsh but, to my mind, all use of language is rhetorical and inherently manipulative. There is always arbitrary privileging in language and I think that makes the use of language an inherently violent one. ------------------------ On another note, the epistemic coherentists are even more deluded lol.

@Raptorsin7 Overall, I'd recommend listening to 'Greater than the sum of your parts' audiobook. Seemed simplistic book to me, but really helped me with IFS. Even though I've gone through a lot of content on it. How many do I have? hmmm, I've mapped at least around 50 parts so far I'd say. Maybe like 30 are protectors. But numerous parts ive only really just identified and haven't gotten to know. I have with quite a few tho. How do you get in touch with protectors? Honestly, the fire drill meditation has been a game changer for me: Really helped me get in touch with some of the big boy protectors. Here are some questions too for parts mapping: 1. What is your role? 2. What would you like me to understand? 3. What would you like me to know? 4. When did the part first start to feel this way? 5. What heavy energies or burdens have you been carrying? 6. What are identifying markers of these protectors. 7. Are there any parts you are protecting?, 8. What is your name, 9. How old are you?, 10. How old do you think I am. I'd recommend getting a journal where you ask parts about all these things and write down the answers. I'd just keep in mind the potential for systems to have well meaning guessing parts. I think its really useful to get more into self too, prior to doing these questions and IFS meditations. A bit of a mind fuck recently has been finding out about my more meta protectors. Like there's one which shows me things that I ordinarily take as completely true, or ones that doubt the process of IFS and for a while I didn't realise they were parts. So myb those would be interesting ones to focus on too, if you have similar ones. The way i ended up identifying a few of them was kind of random. I decided to sit down with a notebook and just get into contact with my parts. Part of me decided that it would be really useful to try and write everything in my mind down, in a parts perspective. I.e. any images that come up, any voices that tell me to write a certain thing down and not another thing down and get into contact with those parts. That was really incredible stuff for me. I ended up sitting down journalling for like 4 hours, and learnt a lot about parts i hadn't really come across before, or parts I didn't really want to acknowledge. Myb that's something you'd be interested in doing too. Also, can go watch content of people you dislike and then try and start a dialogue with voices that come up. When do you know you're in touch with certain ones? To my understanding, every thought/ voice in your mind is attributable to a part. Some parts have v particular voices or identifying markers, particularly some of my child parts. But I do have great difficulties with some protectors who understandably try to disrupt the process, or who try to aid the process by guessing answers because, i.e. they are impatient to heal. The funny thing is I'm talking from a part now hehe, so I probably protect in various ways too. But, sincerely, this is a bit hit and miss for me, except with some of the more meta protectors. Hope this helps. Always interested to see where you are on your journey. -
@AndylizedAAY Heya, I think Teal is great. Have heard good things about the completion process. I'd check out IFS too, as well. Its v similar to Teal's approach, except there's a lot more people in the world working on it and has more of an institutional setup behind it. Teal's only one person unfortunately. Anyhow, that's just my two cents. Hope things progress well for you

Hmmm maybe consult with your protectors on this. Also, you checked in with your protectors after that recent unburdening? That might clear up some need for control or something. Re meditation itself, not my forte, too many protectors atm for it to be useful for me. -
Hmmm, nice post. I like your vibe dude. What came to mind was to try a fire drill meditation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y_0Hg1GnG1g&t=168s And, put the girl as the person you want to focus on. Can ignore the bit about choosing someone you have an issue with. Then journal about what comes up for you. It is a parts based meditation, so myb open your mind to that at first. -------------------------------- I also thought about yoga nidra as something you might like. Its a very energetic practice, and can get you much more in touch with your sexual energy. It sort of helps your being versus doing attractiveness and connection. Its kinda more stage greeney in terms of dating, sexuality and attraction. Also, you'll have the best time jerking off of your life if dating doesn't work out ;). Shits wild w/ yoga nidra ?

Just do a 'take of your headphones' motion with your hands, and chuck in a statement of empathy like, 'I understand this is random', then get your other fundamentals in check and you're golden ;). Just doing daygame is tough tho, imo. I've done a solid pure stretch of it before, and I found it a lot tougher than my nightgame escapades, but I also learnt a lot of different things from it. Personally, in terms of growth, I think its important to mix doing both, but that's just me. I think lounge bar could be something you'd be interested in, too. Good luck.

Man, I hate it, but I love it when it comes to shows like this. Guilty pleasure for sure

Ye I'd prefer this too

? That's a real one

Ye lol I think there'd be a lot of conflict with a lot of therapists on that one. Imagine going to a cbt therapist with that ?. I don't mean to make light on your situation, but the above thought is funny to me. There are some therapists who talk about past lives and stuff. My last psychotherapist, who numerous parts of me dislike, was actually quite into past lives and I was quite interested in it too. Past lives is what I came to understand your linked article to be about. Maybe I'm wrong. Feel free to lmk : )
