@lennart Heya dude, What came to mind for me was to write a letter to her expressing your feelings, and your wants and wishes towards her and the situation. Be those expressions of anger, grief, or of a seemingly irrational nature. But do all this without the intention of sending the letter. You can keep the letter in a draw afterwards if you want.

@Hardkill Because most people vote based on rhetoric, rather than policies/ political actions.

Hey @Ninja_pig, I align my thought with the internal family system therapy approach. If meditation is helpful for you, then go for it. However, if not, I'd guess that, when you meditate, it would be that there is an exiled part(s) of you, in your psyche, that is triggered. Consequently, said part is perceived of as more vulnerable by other parts of your psyche. Hence, it could be that others parts get triggered into suicidality (a way that other parts protect exiled parts). I'd personally advise going through the 'Greater than the sum of our parts' audiobook by Richard Schwartz. Here's an intro to IFS: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6X45Y74blSg However, godspeed to you re whatever you decide to do. -

@Frosty97 I think it depends on what you mean by confidence. Situational confidence is one thing. Self acceptance/ love, and core confidence is quite another. The latter requires stage green approaches. The former you can get a lot of from stage orange practices. However, stage orange stuff won't get you the latter. Its the classic pickup trap, for example. You develop a shit tonne of situational confidence. But not that much of the latter. Its not wrong to do pickup, its just about knowing what results can be expected from a certain practice. I think IFS is an effective way of achieving core confidence -
Ye an off topic would be sick. I think it might improve the quality of the normal subforums, too.

Greater than the sum of your parts, by R. Schwartz I'd recommend getting the audible

@Realms of Wonder You're welcome dude. I'd recommend Internal family systems therapy with an IFS institute certified therapist btw.

Heya, I have C-PTSD. It is different to PTSD. However, I reckon there are enough similarities for my advice to be useful. I don't know too much about Autism though. Here are some tips from me re C-PTSD. I recommend Internal Family systems therapy, with an 'IFS institute' trained practioner. You can find them on here: https://ifs-institute.com/practitioners I'd try and get a level 3 if you can. I wouldn't recommend doing IFS with a non-institute IFS therapist, personally. I'd recommend having trial sessions with at least 3 different of these psychotherapists, and then choosing the one you like the best. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here's an intro vid to IFS: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6X45Y74blSg I'd also recommend getting this audiobook: https://www.amazon.com/Greater-Than-Sum-Our-Parts/dp/1683640616 (Greater than the sum of our parts, by Schwartz) Here's a subreddit for it: https://www.reddit.com/r/InternalFamilySystems/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I find this channel to be valuable too: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCbWvYupGqq3aMJ6LsG4q-Yg I think its useful for understanding family dynamics. Also, unlike other youtubers, I find him both professional and personable ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ For a general overlay of contemporary approaches to healing, I'd listen/ read to: Body keeps the score by Kolk Also, you might find this subreddit useful too: https://www.reddit.com/r/CPTSDNextSteps/ --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Penultimately, I'd be selective about who you take advice from. I'd go with the experts, and no one else. Finally, feel free to shoot me a message if you want my advice on something more. I still have a lot of recovery left myself, but I've learnt a thing or two about the recovery journey in my time. Either way, I wish you well.

I recommend getting the audiobook. The audiobook outlines the IFS modality. However, the reason I recommend it is because Schwartz has a series of guided meditations in the book that I find to have a lot of value.

Not a book, but you might find these useful: https://ifsca.ca/parenting/

Although the amount of spiritual bypassing on this forum is immense.

I suppose the question can be taken to be: Why do people still choose to vote for these people? Well, I'd ask the degree one is able to choose to vote for these people. In the sense of whether they choose in a manner that is self-generated, i.e. the source of the choice at its deepest level is from the self. However, I don't think that is the source of a person's choice. We are manipulated into who we vote for. We are marketed better to by one party, and the parties that command the most ability to market/ manipulate are the parties who have the most success. Therefore, the choice is not made by us. Our very choice is a choice made upon us. We are inflicted with the choice.

@peqkno Great find. Coincidentally, I came across that just the other day, too. Kudos for sharing.

Fairs dude. I think there is some truth to that. I think we have different perspectives though. I think that there are a lot of parties that manipulate discourse to achieve public consensus that they like. Its like how Chomsky talks about the idea of manufactured consent. We believe we choose, but the very process of choosing is manipulated. Also, this manipulation doesn't even require the relevant parties to be knowingly manipulative. Although, I think there are many that do.

I'm worried about this. I think he's absorbed a lot of right wing rhetoric unknowingly. I think he thinks he's being apolitical in his desire to uphold free speech. However, it seems rather right wing for me. I could see the platform becoming a lot more segregated, and division in society, writ-large, increasing as a consequence.

Sounds brill dude. One thing tho, usually lads find the first approach of the day the hardest. So, doing only one might actually be harder than doing a few. Either way, kudos.

Maybe you'd like do-nothing meditation more. Will likely aid creativity

Can't give advice. But respect for the process it seems you've made.

I'd like to hear some more thoughts regarding the academy (academia). Perhaps, some critical theory (i.e. integral/ foucault) on the process and systemic nature of discourse
