  1. Does this remind anyone else of the language "Newspeak" from Orwell's book 1984?
  2. When you don't know what direction to take, choose the path of the least suffering and the most love. Or in other words, choose the path that does the most good. and prevents the most bad. Our intentions are what matter. If you do a good deed for the sake of bettering the world (or even bettering one person's day) then you are sharing love ten-fold. Your intention to do good will affect others and create a cascading effect. You never know how much love a single simple act of kindness can share.
  3. Maybe it means: What you're after (what you seek) is to be searching (seeking) yourself idk, it doesn't really make sense to me either
  4. I'm fascinated by the idea of reality being created by your consciousness. Are dreams just as "real" as "reality"? Do they simply exist on a different plane of reality, also created by your consciousness? Can two people share the reality of one dream as we share the reality of "real life"? Is "real life" simply a plane of reality that is experienced outside of even another "reality" of which we don't have memories of in this reality? What are your thoughts on consciousness and reality?
  5. Okay, this makes sense. =) Do either of you have any resources you could share that go deeper into this idea?
  6. Have you ever listened to guided meditations? Is it kinda like that?
  7. I think rather than you "losing all consciousness" when you get knocked out, I think your state of consciousness changes into a very inactive one.
  8. Today I was able to successfully get some reaallly high quality 'creative herb' for the first time in a while
  9. I would just switch to a web based alternative. Google Keep is good
  10. Nice thread. I like boys and girls I wouldn't tell my parents, they're quite old fashioned. Otherwise I guess it's not a secret
  11. A great ted talk about improving conversations: https://www.ted.com/talks/celeste_headlee_10_ways_to_have_a_better_conversation
  12. There's a practice I've been doing lately and it has really been helping improve my conversations. I have always been a bit socially awkward, having difficulty maintaining "normal" eye contact and whatnot. Since I've been trying this practice, I've noticed a definite improvement. The idea is to have definite positive thoughts about whoever you're talking to during the conversation. For an example - you're talking to a coworker about their weekend and while it's their turn to talk, you form a positive thought in your head about them. Like, "you're really a sweet person" or "I always love your attitude". Something simple, true, and positive. I've noticed that since I started doing this that my eye contact has improved. My responses to whatever they say are more positive and constructive. I smile more. My general aura seems to improve and I have better conversations. Of course make sure to actually listen to whatever the person is saying (this is always very important) but try to slip a positive thought in here and there.
  13. Life constantly kicks you down and then the devil says "I'll help you up and even higher for a tiny piece of your soul". What are some ways to encourage yourself to keep getting back up on your own and keep saying no to the devil's offer of wealth/power? I know it gets easier the more you say no - also prayer has helped me a lot. What do you do to combat the temptation of taking the easy way out?
  14. Sorry I guess it was a bit cryptic. I mean basically - how can we keep strong when we're put in situations of temptation? Situations in which we can satisfy our greed for power/wealth at the cost of our own morals. How can we continue to deny ourselves when the "reward" for going against your morals is really big? I believe that God is a sentient, omnisciente, and omnipotent being that listens to us. So I talk to him and I believe he listens. I don't like religion though
  15. I've used binaural beats during meditation and achieved an extremely psychedelic out of body experience. I will link some really good binaural beats here when I get the chance
  16. Google would not make this easy to make such a program. There are a lot of tools for SEO. Maybe one of them could help you find more info on targeted results.
  17. @Hellenwizr That's awesome you make money like that. Do you use a separate account for your business?
  18. One year ago (more or less) I decided to delete my social media accounts because I realized how toxic they were. I had accounts on two major social media outlets and spent about 4-6 hours per day online. I would never spend less than 30 minutes and most days I was basically online all day, looking through Facebook a couple times per hour. I realized how toxic it was to maintain the addiction of constantly getting on and scrolling through posts without even thinking about it. So much negativity, politics, opinions, and so much other SHIT (in the strongest meaning of the word). After a couple months without this toxicity in my life, my mental state improved immensely. I was getting out and doing stuff, meeting up with friends in REAL LIFE, and no longer consuming/producing shit opinions on all these unimportant matters that people make such a big deal about. (Or very important matters that people know nothing about but still have such strong opinions on.) Now after a year, I would never even consider creating an account on any social media site and I know that my life is so much better for it. I recommend everyone do this, or at least take a break and see how it changes your life. You will be surprised.
  19. I think cell phones also have had an effect on eye contact in the past couple decades. People have an excuse to look down at their phone instead of maintaining healthy eye contact
  20. Amazing video. It's sad how they make this so impossible with drug laws. I was pretty hardcore hooked on benzos (which were legal) for years and tried many times to get off of them and wasn't able to. I then got a bunch of LSD (which was illegal) and used it in conjunction with a taper plan I found online and have been off of them for about 6 months with absolutely no desire to get back on it. So backwards.
  21. @themovement First of all, fair is a ridiculous concept. Secondly, what is the goal that some people have an "unfair" advantage achieving? Wealth, power? Of course some people are "luckier" and able to get money/power/fame easier (nothing to do with genes, but whatever) but is that a measure of happiness even a little?
  22. This seems like a pretty closed minded way of thinking. I think there are many people that achieve great things from every gene pool.
  23. I know that we communicate in so many more ways than just words and body language. Our eye contact communications volumes. If you're feeling a certain way during eye contact, the other person will feel it - whether or not they understand it. A practice I do that I think would help - try to make positive thoughts, like "wow you have pretty eyes." or "you're actually a lot of fun to be around" in the middle of eye contact and those thoughts will always transfer over as feelings.
