  1. Look up the Isha institute and find an isha certified hatha yoga teacher who can give you the practice in person. I got the practice from the instructors house, 3 hours in the morning and 3 hours in the afternoon. She basically just taught us the 21 postures using a video instruction and then tried to refine our practice as we did it. I've heard that Shambhavi mudra kriya yoga has even more profound impact on your well being. There's an initation in September, and that intiation is online so that might be more accessible.
  2. I've never tried any of Shinzen's practices but I just got initiated into Suriya Kriya and I was blown away by the practice. If not for a friend recommending the practices so strongly I would not have assumed Sadhguru would have such potent practices. I think he just does all the interviews etc for marketing purposes to reach as broad of an audience as possible. Someone should host a spiritual olympics so we can really see who's the best.
  3. @soos_mite_ah I get similar headaches, and they've gotten a lot better since I started working with a quality aryuveda doctor. If you have some disposable income I highly recommend speaking to an aryuveda consultant. Also, I've been practicing Isha hatha yoga, and I've read that Sadhgurus shambhavi mudra kriya yiga is supposed to help with headaches. So I'd recommend learning suriya kriya and/or shambhavi mudra
  4. Yeah that's a good way to frame it, whatever the practices are doing are allowing me to let go of resistance and access more energy. Even though I'm ecstatic with how these practices have gone so far, I still think I need to go deep with therapy to understand my issues around sexual repression. It should be easier now that my mood and vitality are improved.
  5. Just finished my second suriya practice+ isha kriya after getting off of work. Man I am so happy to have found this practice. It's surreal. I still can't believe how well things are going and how smooth things to be going now. Still in disbelief at how awesome this practice. I can't wait to see how much I transform after spending a few months at the ashram in Tenessee
  6. I did it in person. It was 6 hours total in one day, 3 in the morning then 3 in the afternoon. She went over each of the 21 postures and showed us the demonstration videos and tried to correct our form as we did it. I think any certified Isha hatha yiga teachee will be great, but my facilitator was amazing. She said you could come back to her house and go over it again if you didn't fully get it with no extra charge, and she spoke to me for 45 mins about staying at the ashram in Tennessee. I'd say 100% get initiated by a quality lineage like Isha. I was always skeptical about why people wouldn't just show me the practice, but there is something valuable about getting the practice directly in a formal way. There was only 1 certified isha hatha teachee yiga in Vancouver, hopefully there is 1 near you. Also, if you're looking to get into kriya yoga, I think you should sign up for the shambhavi mudra initiation in September. They are doing it online, you just need to watch 7, 90 minute, videos before the September initiation. I am blown away by Sadhguru and suriya kriya after this, and I heard the Shambhavi mudra kriya is even more profound than just the yoga. @Salvijus is the one who first told me about good it is, so he can probably answer better than I can.
  7. Has anyone done Suriya Kriya from Sadhguru or any other Suriya Kriya? I'm going to get an initiation in a few weeks and I'm curious about what to expect. I found a woman on the Sadhguru website directory so I'm hoping she's legit.
  8. What does winkle mean?
  9. I just did this practice after my suriya kriya practice and it was an awesome experience. Wow I can't believe how effective these Sadhguru practices are. I've been seeking something this effective for years. I got my 10 day vipassana coming up, and it sucks that I won't be able to do these practices while i'm there, but I will pick up when i get back.
  10. I am on another level since doing suriya kriya by isha and sadhguru. I feel like I been given an enhancement, like someone blessed me. It took a few years, but this is a significant milestone. Real spiritual progress in a way that I can feel clearly, and that will grow. I have a 10 day vipassana retreat coming up, then i'm going to Tenessee to stay at the isha center. Wow i'm going to be moving objects with my mind like jedi before I know it. This is pretty surreal. I thought Sadhguru was just another guru and his practices would underwhelm, but I am blown away at how much better I feel. And I haven't even done shambhavi mudra yet by Sadhguru, apparently that one is even better. 10/10 recommend reaching out to an isha certified teacher in your area, that's what I did.
  11. This guy does a good job of addressing some of the nonsense Jim Newman and other neo advaita teachers preach. I wonder why Jim Newman can't see his own delusion and how he is misleading people. Imagine. Hey Jim i'm suffering. "There's no you who could suffer" 5 minutes later... Hey Jim i'm going to kill myself because i'm so miserable
  12. @Medhansh Just got initiated bro. It was really good, it exceeded my expectations. I feel a strong motivation and desire to continue the practice, and learn some other practices like combining shambhavi with suriya kriya.
  13. @Jowblob Do you plan on doing more trips like that? Or what your plans moving forward for exploring consciousness? Has this changed anything about your approach
  14. @blankisomeone That's great your trip went well (:
  15. Has anyone stayed in the Isha center in Tennessee? I recently learned the Isha Suriya Kriya Yoga practice, and it's really inspired me to pursue more isha practices and spend some time at the ashram. I'm curious if anyone has stayed there, or if anyone is practicing any of the Isha practices, and if they can share their experience. Thanks.
  16. No one here would advise you try shrooms for the first time at 4 am and then work the next day. If you're mind is deadset on doing them, at least wait until you have the next day off, or ideally at least a few days off after the trip.
  17. @Ulax Haha thanks. Whenever I judge or criticize anyone on here or in my life, I always just take a moment to acknowledge that I'm guilty of all those traits.
  18. I'm going on my first vipassana retreat in 2 weeks i'm really excited for that too. From the looks of it, i'm going to spend the next few years on retreats, practicing different yoga systems, etc and then i'll see where i'm at. I have no real responsibilities and a blank cheque so I can pursue this to my heart's desire. Maybe when I come back I won't think every on this forum is retarded and annoying lol. (Although I realize I am both retarded and annoying)
  19. Maybe this will burst teal's bubble about her being more enlightened and aware than other people and she learn to humble and grounded. It seems like the documentary crew was shady, but also Teal is deserved of a lot of the criticism she's receiving and now she's scrambling to save face for her spiritual ego.
  20. Go listen to Dan Carlin's hardcore history episode on Japan right before WW2. Their government had a reputation for being a government run by assassination. Japan has an insanely repressive culture, so I imagine there are fringe elements growing that may be ready to pop at any moment
  21. What an incredible day. I just learned suriya kriya from an isha hatha yoga teacher. This is a transformational experience. This has completely opened my eyes to another level of spirituality.
  22. @blankisomeone No I do not recommend doing mushrooms and then going to work the next day. What about learning a from someone like Sadhguru. I just learned a practice and it took 1 day and it was a really good experience.
  23. @blankisomeone Be careful man. If your mental state isn't great then shrooms could do more harm than good. I think psychidelics work best when you do some prep before hand with some kind of meditation practice, exercise routine, etc. Is there any way you could take a vacation or do some kind of retreat first and then try the shrooms?
  24. @soos_mite_ah Maybe you could look into methods/techniques to change some of these beliefs. These are all beliefs you have about the world and yourself. None of these are absolutely true, you're just stuck with your current perspective and everything you see is reinforcing your current view. It could be worth looking into resources about how to alter your perception and beliefs. If what you wrote was absolutely true about reality then yeah I would agree you're fucked, but almost everything you wrote is subjective, and someone could see the exact opposite reality to what you're seeing. For example, I used to think I was ugly and attractive too, but I changed that belief and perception and my reality completely changed. I would have bet my life I was ugly and attractive when I was 19, but now I don't believe or see that in my experience.
  25. Hmm. It's going to be tough to manufacture chemistry like that, at least from a guy's perspective I don't know if I could (or if i'd want to) force myself to kiss or be with someone who I wasn't physically attracted to. I think in order for this angle to work you would have to communicate what about him you are finding undesirable, and then work together so he can embody more of the qualities you find sexually desirable. But this seems like a lot of work for someone you've only been on 4 dates with. And idk how he would feel if you expressed that his current persona is physically unattractive to you. I think your best bet is to do some deep inner work to understand why you are attracted toxic men, and why you are having trouble attracting the kind of man you want. “Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today, I am wise so I am changing myself.” -Rumi What you want out of life is currently beyond your state of being or perception. So you have to upgrade some aspect of your perception to get what you want. I'll give you an example from my life that can illustrate the point. When I was 19 I was really insecure about how I looked and depressed because I thought I was going bald. When I looked in the mirror I saw an ugly face, and I always thought I was unattractive to woman, and I had real examples of where woman rejected me etc. But then something triggered in me and I went on a self help tear over like 2 weeks. One thing that happened was I completely changed my perception of my own attractiveness and how I looked. It took me two days but I literally went from seeing an ugly face in the mirror, to loving how I looked in the mirror and see a good looking face. I also started to notice more attractive woman checking me out, and all of a sudden my reality almost shifted to where I was this attractive guy. It was a complete 180. So the same thing needs to happen with you, with respect to your dating options and how you view yourself and potential mates. I'm not sure what exactly I did so I can't help you do it, but I know it's possible so maybe someone else can help you.
