Sorry, leo. How can you say that? Isn't good and bad a duality? Maybe you mean "good" in an existential meaning here. Not "good" for the ego? Well, then why can't we apply the same principle with "good" then? -

When i realized no self i got depressed. I know how it feels. @Demeter and @Breakingthewall You don't want to let go, you only want to resist. It's all fun and play until you encounter the void. It's more void that you ever thought, it's natural that you don't want to deal with that shit especially when you realize that it was the only thing always there. Then i realized that the void is "me". There was resistance to letting go and fall in the void, but simultaneously, a tiny realization that it was safe. That tiny realization didn't last though because the ego resisted. I don't want to deal with it ahahaa. -

let me know how it turns out -
@Carl-Richard let's not complicate things further

@Member Basically, if you think about it. The universe is infinite and has infinite dimentions. Simple. Also, be carefull that ancient civilization that didn't know each other around the world have the exact same stories of interacting with those beings. If you research on it you will find very interesting things.

@Just Do Nothing DP implies no free will and feeling you don't control you body and your thoughts. At least this was for me, it's out of control. You can't have a good DP because there is no "you" in the DP. You are gone, and the past doesn't exist so yesterday never happend. It's scary man, it's not wonderfull. At least that's how i experienced. The past being illusion is derealization. You see other people as puppets with no free will. You are alone. Completely. Even if you reach out nobody can help you. It's horrifying. What you experienced is not DP/DR. Go in a DP/DR forum and read what they say. It's a living hell. -
@Member Yes.

Neo advaitan are too narrow obsessed with "there is nothing to do, there is only what's happening" "there is no message, this is not a teaching" and then pride themselves for "oh look how radical this is, this is radical.". Enlightenment is always radical. but to say that you have nothing to teach is in and on itself a duality. You can't escape duality in this life. So they are deluding themselves in a sense. Like wtf is stupid to say just nothing has to be done. Maybe it's true for you that had the realization, but not for others who are asleep. They still have to realize that. You are not going to become enlightened by sitting on the fkin couch all day. Duality is important, it's the game we are playing here apparently. Don't dismiss it. -
Man, listen... i have a story. When i was little i loved singing and music, 8 years old and i wanted to become like michael jackson Everybody recognized me as a talent, i was the best at singing when i was little. I never believed talent was real, i used to believe that i was able to sing good because i loved it and made me feel all those things. It isn't only now, that my brother has 9 years old, that i know something is off. He loves singing he does sing all over the house because my mom wanted him to learn the guitar and to be involved in music. BUT HE SUCKS. He really has no talent at all... and i recognized "wow, so actually, i had talent". Everybody told me when i was little, they were amazed. i was able to sing with vibrato all over the place. If i wanted to have singing lessons, i would become really really really good. Now i recognize my talent in music which i did not develop. You, with all the lessons, sing worse then me when i was 8 years old. This may sound harsh.... but please, don't waste your time in the sense that you do have a talent in some place that maybe you havent found yet. Maybe as leo said, you could be a great teacher. or maybe you can't sing but you surely can play an instrument. Or maybe it's another forms of art, if you are very artistic. For example i really really suck at drawing. You could be very good at it. The key is to work on your strenghts. I said to my ount (she is a singer, i come from a family of musicians) when i was little "everybody can sing well because everybody loves music". "She told me. No. Everybody loves music but this does not mean everybody can sing well." I wish you the best in life. Btw, your transformation is good Noticable.

@Just Do Nothing No, whatever you experienced is not DP. Dp is absolutely horrible. You are confused. -
arlin replied to Ellenier's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Because i think he thinks that the realization just happends. and many others like adyashanti think this way, but, saying not to do anything because nothing can be done is like saying to do something. see? so jim newman is wrong in this regard i think. If you do spiritual practices, you will have a realization more so if you don't, statistically speaking. Most people who realize those things do spiritual practices. Even if it's true that you can do them for a lifetime and not have any awakening, it's more likely that would happen if you actually practice. If you seek and seek for years and get tired then some to a teaching like jim newman, that would be enough to suddenlty have a realization. But if you are a beginner doing nothing will not help you at all. it's more wise to go for self inquiry etc... got it? -
arlin replied to Ellenier's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
i am confused as well because there ase soo many teachers. What do they think about what happends after death? is it the same thing? -
arlin replied to justfortoday's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Whay do you mean? @justfortoday Do you mean you experience glimplses where the self, the "i" totally dissapears and you see that reality is whole and complete? If so, do they happen by themselves or do you induce them? If so, how do you remember what it was when "you" come back? -
arlin replied to Focus Shift's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
This could also be a view. I also think this. This is really important, it's not something to take lightly. Because one could have a shift in consciousness, perhaps awakening, and give it different meaning whether there is free will or not. Or maybe one could have DP. Etc, etc. I also think another episode on free will by leo would be great, he said that he would do it in the future so let's wait -

@Johnny5 Actually, i didn't talk about myself ahahaa -
arlin replied to Into The Void's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Johnny5 it's actually very simple. How much do you want to know. Do you want to know or not? How big is the burning desire inside? If you try, you might be totally wrong. However, you will die. Same as for everyone who also might be wrong or right, and at least you have lived a life where you feel you don't regret.
