  1. hahahahahaha, I know it's weird I am super insecure about my physique. Sometimes I question if its even worth it because bodybuilding feels like a distraction from consciousness work well for me at least, it might not be the same for someone else. I will try that thanks bro!
  2. Been trying to learn more about quantum mechanics lately. My understanding of reality is still very poor and I am trying to understand quantum mechanics better. This is great
  3. In psychology class, we learned that a pitch dark room for extended periods of time can damage your eyes. I am not saying do not do the retreat but just be ready for any health consequence.
  4. My biggest fear in life is that I seek forever and never attain enlightenment. Yes I know it is the ego who fears n all that stuff but does anyone else share the same fear?
  5. @Nahm I think its a mix of both perspectives, I’ll figure it out. @Joseph Maynor yeah you always gotta be aware and like usually when you think you’ve “arrived” theres a good chance you’re deceiving yourself
  6. @Leo Gura that probably is the case, just distraction. @Nahm Hmm it is ironic, I am not sure where the fear is coming from entirely. My best guess it is because I always felt things “never went my way” in life so now I’m projecting that attitude on enlightenment?
  7. @Joseph Maynor Liberation through enlightenment, I've made it a life long journey of mine to one day reach it, but it's like what if I go to my grave and I'm still in ego mode you know? It's scary to think about.
  8. Thanks @Ether @nightrider1435 That's actually solid advice, thanks
  9. Glad to hear about it bro! Just be aware that homeostasis might kick in overdrive and try to drag you back into old patterns. But I’m happy for you man ?
  10. So today I was just doing my normal contemplation of the self and something started to hit me. The voice in my head started to say things like "you wanted this, you forced this upon yourself. You want to die? its all your fault you are going to die by doing this spirituality stuff" And that is when I realized, death of self is the same as physical death? Because at this point it felt like I got deep enough into my contemplation that I was basically picking up a gun and blowing my brains out. I felt close to death and it was terrifying. Just something I needed to get out so I made this post. Feel free to leave feedback!
  11. @Slade Yes I agree completely, it felt like I was literally dying, when it was happening it felt no different than physical death
  12. @Shin I think it really depends on how long you have been feeling this way. In 2017 I felt phases of extreme sadness for 3 weeks at a time. This happened in February, July, and then at the End of December of 2017. What I noticed was after I got out of the slump, my consciousness raised to another level. I think your meh feelings could be a result of spiritual purification but then again this is just my assumption. Best of luck to you!
  13. So I had a few weird experiences the other day, they felt alien. I was in the car on the way to work with my brother and all of a sudden everything became the same thing. There was no difference from my brother than the tree outside or the car outside. All labels went out the window and everything became the same thing? lol it sounds weird but I don't know what happened but it confused the shit out of me later. This lasted for about 2-3 minutes then everything went back to normal. Then it happened again like 30 minutes later and lasted for about 5 minutes. Fast forward to the next day, I was at the gym and I went to the bathroom. When I was taking a piss in the urinal it felt like I was pissing on myself? It felt like a strange loop. Like I was the urinal/bathroom and I was taking a piss on myself. Again, I was extremely confused. Anyone else have any weird experiences like this? I'm still mind fucked from them tbh
  14. Hey guys, I have a week off school in about a month and I am planning on meditating for multiple hours a day instead of the usual amount of time I meditate, for that entire week. Any tips on how to not fall asleep during it? Is coffee okay to use before meditating? I found meditating immediately after waking up helps but I’m looking for more tips. Thanks guys!
  15. Can living in nature super-charge your spiritual growth?
  16. @PT89 Hope you have a great experience bro! Looking forward to hearing how it went.
  17. I agree with @Psyche_92. Your mind is going to want to over think the situation and psyche you out of meditation. But don't fall into that trap. People who have a majority of their meditation with complete silence are seasoned meditators.
  18. Do something that might create that fear, try rock climbing or something like that. Even bungee jumping from high heights could help maybe?
  19. @Leo Gura @Serotoninluv I'm currently 22 and have been meditating everyday for the past 2 years and doing personal development. I am still a big noobie but I plan on doing this change when I am about 30 years old and have gone a lot deeper into spirituality. Another reason to why I want to leave my current area is because my family is violent and extremely neurotic. Not to say that I am a saint. But, I feel it's like, for example: how can a drug addict become clean if he lives in a house full of drug addicts? Like of course I could move away just to stay in the same city but in my culture, families are closely tied and visit often. I'm trying to distance myself from that lifestyle while trying to do what I really want in life.
  20. I was wondering because I find myself extremely drawn towards nature. I plan on settling down somewhere more close to nature because I feel a lot more at peace in those kinds of environments. I also thought it might help with spiritual work.
  21. Just because your muscle isn't always sore doesn't mean its a bad thing. When your muscle is sore it is just clearing out lactic acid. Just go to failure every set and you'll be fine.
  22. Hey guys I have two questions. 1. If I can't go to a meditation retreat because of school/work conditions is it okay to just meditate for like 5-10 hours a day for a week? Also doing this while cutting out electronics and bad food or any other bad habits. I know it won't be like a meditation retreat but I'm trying to do something along those lines that would really help. 2. When feeling ego back lash, is it okay to double down and do even more spiritual work? Or is that a bad idea? Thanks guys.
  23. Save up. I know it sounds obvious but that is what I’m doing. All my money currently goes into my post secondary fees, which are hefty. But once I can scrap enough money together from saving on the side, I’m going to buy the life purpose course. It can take awhile but it is worth the investment especially when you look back on your life and see all the money you wasted on stupid stuff.
  24. Hey guys, Leo talks about accepting death is extremely vital to becoming enlightened. Would suicidal people be able to accept ego death easier than others because they want to die anyways? Or is that just false?
