It’ll be interesting to see what happens when I drive my Honda with a Michigan plate to Texas to visit family for Christmas... Might attract a Trump train of my own!

I’m surprised that anyone expected a comfortable Biden victory. Hell, I’m just glad to know Michigan went to Biden. I had no set expectations. And the bitching and whining has already started among coworkers. Also heard about a riot in downtown Detroit from the janitor.

What’s the difference between radical open-mindedness and gullibility? What’s the difference between entertaining a notion and adopting it as a new perspective/worldview? Why should I listen to what Leo says and not listen to what Alex Jones says? Does the degree with which I agree or disagree with either of them make it any more wrong or right? Skepticism is necessary as a bullshit filter, but how does one determine what gets filtered out? One’s own level of skepticism is a bias in and of itself, by necessity!

Nice! I hope it goes well!

There are already far too many nuclear weapons as it is. Adding more will not reduce suffering. Ideally, countries that currently have nuclear weapons would agree among each other to disarm them, but that’s not realistic. The doomsday clock is as close to midnight now as it ever got during the Cold War.

Yeah, some answers can be like that. Just a matter of perspective. As for the OP, Kegel exercises and self-exploration are good things! Just be present and patient with your body, there’s no rush. If you feel pain, stop. Notice what you were doing before you felt the pain and avoid doing that the same way again. Know your limits. The limits to what objects or actions you use is determined by you alone. It’s different for different people. Also, don’t do anything you aren’t willing to clean up after. Because really, ew. Some things are only beautiful in the moment.

Yeah, he’s doomed to suffer. And as was pointed out, he’s already suffering from these past 4 years (and the rest of his life, honestly). He’s basically in hell already with nobody to blame but himself. It’s just too bad he’s not aware of it and blames anyone but himself.

Yes. I do this constantly. This is where my problem is, I think. I can see from multiple perspectives. I have an open mind and it can change often. It’s not a very stable foundation. This is what I originally labeled as a “bullshit filter”. I’m not sure if mine is working well or not. Agreed! I filtered him out a while back.

Yes. All of this. Live your life. Don’t worry about the lives of others or what you think your life ought to be now if things “worked out better”. Take small steps now to make your life better now.

These are the fastest objects created by humans thus far: https://voyager.jpl.nasa.gov/mission/status/ Not only did they have enough propulsion to leave Earth’s atmosphere and travel far away (also the most distant objects made by humans thus far) they also made “slingshot passes” around planets to gather more momentum using the planet’s gravitational field. That’s incredibly energy efficient. Just let gravity do the work for you! -

Nofap is just one mode of living. You can have rationalizations and justifications for whether it’s right or wrong. It becomes an attachment either way. Just live your life. -

The beaming Sun! ? As for my own answer to the topic, not usually. I find myself mired in cynicism most times. -
It’s good that you’re using your free time from job loss to pursue creativity! If that is what you’re truly passionate about, there’s no good reason to stop or discourage you. The thing about political cartoons (in my opinion) is that while they’re highly relevant in the moment, they lose meaning very quickly as the situation changes and context is lost. That said, I like your work!

What people in the scientific community call c is veeeeeeery narrowly defined as the speed of light in a perfect vacuum. That’s not how fast light travels in reality because reality isn’t a perfect vacuum. It’s the supposed “speed limit of the universe” because nothing, not even the photons of which light is composed, can traverse the distance from point A to point B faster than c.

This separation of spiritual and physical is a duality. The trick is to feel great unconditionally. I’m still working on that also. I know exactly what you mean in those first 2 sentences. I avoid everything and everyone unless necessary (still need a job to pay bills, still need groceries and gas for the car, etc.) and COVID reinforces that. But this avoidance ultimately won’t make me “happy” or “complete”. It’s just a phase in the pursuit of happiness. Things change. Life happens.

Is any military hegemony good for the world? Also, this is basically the entire premise of Team America: World Police.

Quickest thing you can do is apply at restaurants and grocery stores. The stereotypical bullshit jobs that kids get in high school that “build character” because there’s no enjoyment in the daily toil. They’re always looking to hire. If you’re living with your folks, you can still save up money on that low wage. For your health, look only for places in comfortable walking/biking distance and never drive to or from work. Also avoid the food at any restaurant you apply to unless it’s menu is specifically designed to be healthy. If you can afford to be patient, don’t apply to those jobs. Aim higher.

Fuck yeah, Texas! I’m surprised 2016 even had good turnout for the general election at all, really. Ted Cruz won the Texas primary by a landslide. Hillary Clinton got more votes in the Texas primary than Donald Trump. And good on the Harris County clerk as well! There is no such thing as shy Trump supporters in Michigan. The signs and little car flags are everywhere. They are loud, outspoken people. There’s at least one big parade float for Trump.

Well, everyone’s situation is different. I know a few people who live without jobs and stable income. But it can be pretty stifling. You made it this far, though! What made you realize a change needs to happen, @Loss ? And how urgent does that change need to be?
