  1. +1 to Byron Katie's work. It's both illuminating and practical.
  2. uhh... specifically, how? depending on the answer, maybe you should consider calling a suicide hotline first
  3. Everyones journey is different but typically when someone dedicates themselves towards a releasing practice, a lot of dense or gross emotions/energy can be processed first as opposed to more subtle stuff. It can feel more physical and in the body. The process is the systematic undoing of the root of the ego. The emotional reservoirs which fuel unwanted feelings and behaviors can take some time to be fully released. They come under the appearance of challenges. I say appearance because while they may seem deep and enduring, often the depth of our problems are illusions of the ego which seeks to preserve itself. Use challenges as an opportunity to marshal your focus and reaffirm your intentions of transformation. Focus on your gains and keep at it. You will experience shifts that will inspire and motivate your journey.
  4. Yeah it's nothing too out of the ordinary my man. I've shared the experience during releasing. Blockages are released from the energy system and correspond to certain organs so strange things can happen. I've heard of people straight up vomiting doing shadow work. Initial layers of release can be highly physical. Tightness in organs and muscles, pain, tension, itching, shaking or feeling like you need to puke are normal. Or you may not feel anything at all. All valid. Release resistance to any physical phenomena that occur and allow them as they are. You're doing great.

  8. I like the one where the Buddha called upon all his disciples and took them to a lake for satsang. They all stood around him waiting for his instruction but it did not come. Instead, he reached down into the lake and pulled up a lotus flower which he held gently and quietly before them. He did not say a word. This silence went on for some time as the disciples sat in confusion, until finally Mahākassapa burst out into laughter and said "omg, that is soooooo Buddha."
  9. Hey Ether, if you have the time, watch this. I think you'll enjoy it
  10. OP, this is a safe space, you can be honest with us... do you want him to make another video on how to finger girls?
  11. In that case, statsofclay reminded me with their video of how easy EFT can be for this stuff:
  12. I think no problem as long as the teacher is good. I haven't watched the video yet but if Leos suggesting it I'd trust it to be a legit learning source.
  13. Take it from someone who is extroverted and comfortable in front of crowds: unless you've done it plenty of times before, it is always nerve-racking for everyone the day or week before, so you're not alone, and you shouldn't be concerned about being anxious. Being calm when performing helps, but it isn't necessary. My suggestion is you mentally go through the worst case scenario. "What's the worse thing that could happen?" "And how could it get even worse?" "And even worse still?" and look at them, examine them, and accept them. Allow the franetic buzzing of fear to come up and just be with it to release some of that reservoir. Looking at your specific fears and accepting them will help. And then accept that it'll likely still be scary despite all your best efforts to deal with the emotions and energy. That's okay!
  14. Some practices are more prone to potential misuse than others, depending on intensity and to what degree it's directly working with the energetic system. The problem comes when a lack of proper education, information and precautions are taken, particularly with pranayamas. To prevent unnecessary suffering, practices should be followed as per guided by a proper teacher who knows what they're talking about. Kriya yoga for example isn't something you want to learn on a forum. Misusing certain yoga practices is playing with fire and has potentially severe consequences that can take years to recover from: emotionally, energetically, physiologically. For many kinds of yoga this isn't a concern, for others it is. Misuse can be as simple as doing a practice for much longer than is suggested multiple times a day when it's instructed that one should only practice it once per day, for example. Learn from decent sources, follow instructions carefully, and scale back or pause practices if they're causing disturbing symptoms. Then you'll be gravy!
  15. Cannabis helps me a lot. When used sporadically, each time I smoke there is generally an upheval of any discomfort or psychic tension that is being held and so it all surfaces which facilitates releasing it. Sometimes it's like a complete surface layer of hypnosis is broken which allows a kind of natural latent intelligence to guide the experience towards greater balance of inner and outer. The degree to the kind of benefit you can get ranges all the way from the negative to highly accelerated, depending on your intention and willingness to drop distractions and shine awareness directly on the inner experience that's occuring and surrendering to it. I have found that repeated daily use quickly reduces the growth quality of it for me personally, and it also makes me want to smoke every day to the point where the substance becomes mildly parasitic, therefore I would advice caution with any repeated use so that it doesn't become an addiction. I think cannabis comes with a tax on mental clarity and sometimes psychic balance. The day after smoking I feel a very real difference in clarity and mental dexterity. I think most people just don't have the mindfulness to notice it.

  18. There are lots of lower states of consciousness that imitate and are often mistaken for higher ones. Your depersonalization is not necessarily a mystical state, just as the thoughtless and serene stupor of an opiate high is not enlightenment.
