  1. Is there a sense of loneliness that you experience due to having very limited number of people who can see the world from your perspective? If so, what do you do to over come this?
  2. I left Facebook recently, and only kept the messenger function to keep in touch with people I met while oversea. I think the video hits the point. I found that pretty much everything on social media is a "construction" and you are forced to "like" or "comment positively" on their social construction, which fuels their narcissism even more. There is alot of group think/and relationship aggression that can be found on social media.
  3. I think its a feeling of "all is well", let life be as it is, and going with the flow.
  4. I think anxiety is a feeling that we learnt since childhood and it chases us as negative self talk. It may came from our over critical parents, or us somehow got into a dangerous situation or our fear of failure due to unquestioned and examined social conditioning. When you were feeling that freedom, did it feel like you were a child again, and that you can try anything?
  5. Agreed. Money, or the meaning of money is social construction. It is designed to help with trade goods and services (for living a life). It is not the means to an end. But somehow the meaning got mixed up today, and some people chase money as a means to an end.
  6. I experience gender and racial inequality. My personality is the opposite of the socially accepted stereotypical behaviour of those. And I have had so many experiences of being treated differently and bullied due to these 2 facts. I really like this analogy, I've had people out right denial the gender and race issue. I've had people try to pretend that I am of a different race/class to be able to feel they can talk to me. I think deep down, I am not angry at them individually. I can tell some people just never questioned their many assumptions and some are brought up in extreme closed off societies and have very unrealistic expectations from people who are different from them. But I think its the fact that society needs me to pretend that this is all "ok", while being openly discriminated against; it is really emotionally taxing. And my lack of coping mechanisms because no one wants to talk about the long term effect of living in the "cold water"; and how to cope with this until society matures and moves onto the next level (which is going to be a long time)
  7. I have extreme issue with perceived inequality and often it leads to bad situations/endings (I get too angry). For example, when I witness someone is given a free pass and another person was not, this greatly upsets and angers me...then I want to speak out and it always ends badly. Is there a way of thinking or new frame of reference that can help/cope with this? (I am thinking this may be too much Green thinking within me)
  8. @Emerald Yes I can see what our saying, looking for the silver lining in the situations/inequality. I think cognitively I know all this, but on an emotional level, I think it is the saddest thing. I feel I am unable to connect with people, even genuine people who are oblivious to some of the issues. It angers me that I have to experience things in a different way, and expected to smile and be super agreeable to the situation so I don't look like a weirdo for having emotional outbursts. It feels like an eternal punishment.
  9. @Winter I think it depends on what @Joseph Maynor meant by "voice". I can see both possibility, because I find at Yellow, the style of speech and use of words are more honest and less likely to use flowery words for the sake of social cohesion (social cohesion is particularly important to Greens), and to Yellows authenticity is very important. However Yellow do not use commanding or aggressive or dismissive tone of voice or words (which is more typical of arrogance in Orange transiting to Green). For example: An over-weight wife asks her husband if she looks fat. 1. Orange-Green response: Yes you are fat, you should lose weight. (This statement is true because the wife is over weight and health is important and its important to let her know) 2. Green response: Honey you are beautiful as you are and always will be. (This statement is also true, because the wife is beautiful no matter what she looks like, and self-esteem and ultimate acceptance of others as they are is important in a healthy relationship) 3. Yellow response: Honey you will always be beautiful to me, and I guess its contextual what is considered "fat" in each country. Maybe we should look up what is considered "fat", and see if we need to do something about it. (This statement is also true, because while it is important to love others for who they exactly as they are, it is also important to point out potential medical facts that might be detrimental to the wife's health in the future.)
  10. @Alex14 realize; its not about you.
  11. To be honest, I do think there are more to my perceived inequality than I am willing to admit. I think I want to protect my self and my awareness from seeing that despite being born in this day and age - there are still inequality, which will be inevitable. These inequalities affect my perception and my worldview and I find it affects my relationships with those who are not impacted by it. I think partially its a sad and lonely realization.
  12. @eleveneleven Your point is very interesting. I've spent most of my life in Green with very stereotypical Green Values, and one of the biggest observations I had was that people can be "divided" into 2 fundamental value system almost: those who are nihilistic and become extreme material and status orientated; and those who believe in something "bigger" - God, Universe, Fate, Meaning etc. I find I can get along with Greens and Blues (when they are not imposing their values or judging you for no following an existing hierarchy). With other Greens; it fees like home. With Yellow, I really respect their ability to see perspectives and the larger picture; and able to challenge my perspectives. There is a sense of mystery with Yellow.
  13. Thanks guys, you gave me alot to think about.
  14. @XYZ I think both. When I am personally affected by the advantage/disadvantage; it becomes particularly bad. I have been in situations where I was expected to favor one person over another and that upsets me as well. I rather be at and see everyone at a neutral stance as much as possible. @bejapuskas Thanks for the recommendation. I will check her book out. Its interesting that you also think Blue is involved in anger over perceived injustice? This concept is new to me, can you explain your train of thoughts to me?
  15. @Ampresus a way to see the difference is: 1. some people may see it as a tree 2. some people may see it as an oxygen machine 3. and like @B_Naz , see it as atoms from part of this universe All 3 perspective are true, but they are different; they hold different meaning, different purpose, and have different narratives.
  16. Which level of Spiral Dynamics would the issue of Racism be on? How does a person/group get over the issue?
  17. I can see how Yellow Thinking can appears like "politics talk" and it can piss/frustrate everyone in 1st tier off. Because Yellows don't actually following any specific and "pre-defined" group values like 1st tiers do; and everything is so systematically complicated that its hard to even talk about it. And let alone they have to make a yes/no judgement call on the spot; which is something that 1st tier thrive for.
  18. Thats the thing with cooperation and seeing bigger picture as we all become more emotionally and mentally mature; you come to understand and revise the "zero sum game" mentality. 1. not everything is on a Zero Sum scale 2. its about discerning which one is and which one isn't - and act accordingly 3. sometimes losing on one scale means winning on another, that is more important to you 4. sometimes there are no winners
  19. @Leo Gura Thanks Leo I can see how the unhealthy group identity of Blue can be cause of the manifestation. Why would Orange also be involved in Racism? I thought on Orange it would be more about personal merit as well?
  20. @Joseph Maynor Its the way he perceive things. He could have a very large Green due to his activism. He doesn't seem to show much concern for Orange values; and if Wikileaks is a business then it is by no means anything that is like the main concerns of Orange businesses today. And a good dose of Red due to his action orientated nature. However it seems like his causes are very much against ideas of surveillance, control and order (represented by Blue memes). Also I've read that Yellow memes tend to reject Blue values the most, but I don't want to focus on this research. Link if anyone wants to read it and decide for themselves: http://www.academia.edu/2014906/Mean_Green_Meme_Boomeritis_Myth I think he may be an unhealthy Yellow who haven't incorporated much of his Blue level therefore sees all Blue like activities with suspicion?
  21. Which stage(s) do you think Julian Assange embodies? I feel like I can see elements of Red, Orange, Green and alot of Yellow. I haven't seen much of Blue or Turquoise. Why do you think the Government (various part of the world) are demonizing Julian Assange? I feel like on the surface his breaking "Blue" values, but his really stopping unhealthy Red and Orange in the disguise of Blue. Is he an example of witch-hunt?
  22. @SgtPepper I'm not sure if his having "fun" or just having a go at her. He doesn't show any compassion or respect to the interviewer; which are fundamental Green lessons; thats the empathy. Usually when a Yellow behaves the way he does, its because the person who is responding to him is giving off similar vibes or acknowledgement or something which indicate it is ok to behave this way. She did not give him any of those clues.
  23. @Hellspeed I can see that Unhealthy Blue usually means a unconsciousness need to support a group/rank/hierarchy to fulfill their personal agenda. It is scary in the sense that they don't usually see their self-absorbed reasons behind their actions. Whereas Reds and Orange are more overt and aware in that sense. And unhealthy Reds and Orange, take that to an extreme level with satisfaction, and knowingly at your expense.
  24. @Zizzero Thank you, I've never thought of it this way.
