  1. How are you going to generate income from that website? Just curious. And, I don't know if this has to do with what you think to put on the website, but I was thinking that helpful guides about how to meditate, techniques to get enlightened can attract a lot of people. But I am not sure if it is in the scope of your website. On the other hand, the site works really well, it's a true wiki. I like that and the idea of having it connected with a forum, I never saw a wiki with forum, but maybe it's me that I don't know too much about wiki software. Nice. Did you have any knowledge of web programming before? Nice website!
  2. Really all this thread is about the confusion that the body-mind has thinking it is separated and can "manipulate" others that are in fact itself. There's manipulation and there's no manipulation.
  3. I am being manipulated to buy a hamburger, I'll be back!
  4. Nothing of what you said responds what I pointed to you... I just pointed to the moon with my finger, but the finger is not the moon. You have to "accept" (or be extremely open) that there can be things that go outside of that "verified" or measured reality that you are talking about. Now we have this reality because consciousness wanted it to be like that, you don't know what the I AM is capable of doing. You are not seeing the big picture.
  5. I agree with @Mal on what he says @Emilio First try to watch your thoughts in meditation, observe them without attachment. It's like an exercise and your mind will get used to ignore thoughts that are not important. What you said it happened to me. You wanna know why? Because I began to "think"... "Oh, no... if I look at my boss directly to the eye she will think that I like her" or stupidity like that. Those are just thoughts. They are not true. And if she thinks bad of you, that's her problem, not yours. You just watch at the person directly to the eye because you are paying attention to what he/she says. The rest is just thoughts coming to your head distracting you, they are not real. Once you begin to meditate on that, you will notice the difference. That's called "focus". Your mind will be more "focused" without annoying thoughts. Lol. Try the video of Leo about mindful meditation, that's a good way to calm your thought process, the monkey mind.
  6. But that happened because he was very attached to his thoughts. First I will suggest @zasa joey to learn to not get attached to thoughts, understand that we are not the thinkers of thoughts, thoughts just happen and we can't control. They are not our thoughts. Once you understand that, you can have a hell going on inside you and your external self won't move a hair, it won't be affected at all. That's what meditation does, makes you control or ignore your thoughts and not being controlled by thoughts. That's how the majority of people live, dominated by the identification with thoughts.
  7. If you practice when you feel that shyness, try to feel it "physically" ... try to see what the body does so the brain interprets it as "shyness", same with other emotions, fear, anger, etc. You will see that is not even what you think, it is inoffensive. It's just a mind trap or game. At least it works for me. They are just perceptions of thoughts, feelings and body sensations. The problem is how we interpret them.
  8. I agree @Mal Once we understand it, we think "why didn't I tried this before?" ... it's so simple that no one thinks it will work.
  9. @cetus56 this is the creator http://www.hellertoon.com/main.html And the joke again at a better resolution
  10. Sorry @cetus56 I just saw your question, I just googled "zen jokes" or "enlightenment jokes" I have one more I just found.
  11. I have a question about social media management. I am working with another guy on creating websites and we want to add social media services, but no one of us have any idea about how much to charge, what are the different and more common options or packages offered. Is there any site where I can check some ideas or references? I am googleing it but I thought maybe you guys know of some services offered where I can check to offer those services with our company. Thanks!!!
  12. Thanks a lot @Carrie I appreciate a lot your help. I will read the article and if I have more questions I will post them here. What you are telling me is what I was thinking, but I wasn't sure. I have a customer that I am making some designs too and he was asking me about if I provided services for social media, he has a Facebook page and he told me that someone was making it for him and he was charging him U$S 300 (not sure if weekly or monthly) and he asked me because he thought it was expensive, probably expecting me to give him a lower price hehehehe... With all these info you gave me I will talk to him and see what happens, but I am not obviously going to do it for the kind of money he's thinking. Anyway, doing a budget calculation for a person taking care of the facebook page and the content the money that he's thinking is really not enough, but I wanted to be sure. Thanks a lot, and probably I will be calling some companies as a "customer" to have a better idea. Thanks so much again!
  13. @jes here you can find inspiration https://www.missionstatements.com/
  14. @Key Elements When you listen to his declarations you realize that he is completely "thinking" he is the "thinker" like most of the people in the world. :-P He said, that he did it because you see someone and you "fall in love" and that's how it works. If he was aware of his thoughts, he wouldn't have done it. But, you are right. Who are we to judge?
  15. I watched it... awesome! I will send it to some friends.
  16. He's an actor and director of a lot of movies, some of them funny. And his character most of the times was a shy guy who had big problems with girls. He's the kind of neurotic guy in most of his movies. Funny guy.
  17. You never watched a Woody Allen's movie? hehehehe...
  18. @Natasha Yesterday I saw that video and I was tempted to watch it, I saved it to watch later! Now, I think I will watch it ASAP! hehehe... thanks!!!
  19. I have to be honest, I was always shy and I never could overcome my shyness as a teen. I was always regretting about not acting or being more adventurous with women as a teen. But that's the past. Now I am married. But I can tell you that seeing that there's not a self has changed completely my life. If I knew that as a teen I would have had much more girlfriends that what I had. That's my advice for you guys. There's no self to be shy about anything.
  20. Now that @Galyna mentions it, on a second read @Salaam you are saying that: "There are 118 elements on the periodic table and they all have different reactions and chemistry with each other. How would the world work if there was only one element? What would it combine with to form blood, bone, organ, and muscle tissue?" You are talking there about physical world, and the "idea" that everything is one, is beyond physics. Imagine the "nothingness" that is consciousness or awareness, and can create matter of 118 elements, or anything from nothing. Because it is nothing and everything. I know what I am saying is a concept too, but it is not ONE "physically" that Buddhism and other philosophies refer to.
  21. But there's no person who wants something. That "person" doesn't exist.
  22. “The person who can freely acknowledge that life is full of difficulties can be free, because they are acknowledging the nature of life - that it can't be much else.” ― Shunryu Suzuki, Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind: Informal Talks on Zen Meditation and Practice
  23. Just knowing is good to begin, but I would recommend to meditate. It really helps to calm your thoughts that are one of the main creators of the illusion of the "self".
